I searched the city for a 10 fin hot water radiator when my current 100 year radiator sprung a leak and the woman below me had a leak of biblical proportions.
Radical radiators were able were able to find one and Joel Minnich and I worked it out by email and phone. The ornate ones are more costly then the plain. The workroom/store is in Malden. They have a large supply and are very professional. Joel has 15 years experience in the area. There are not a lot of people who sell these. They are hard to come by on craigslist and honestly I have trouble trusting 100 yr old radiators on Craigs list. A-1 Plumbing was another company now closed.
Radical Radiators will test them, put on new piping so the plumber can install easier and paint them. You will have to find a plumber who is going to be able to place it. It requires draining the hot water out of the entire building or your house installing bringing up a 200-400 pound radiator and putting the water back on and bleeding all your radiators so that everything is equalized.
Joel brought the radiator into our hallway and the plumbers brought it up stairs to the apartment. Ideally I should have probably have asked Joel bring it up to the place where it's going to be installed because there are not a lot of people who are accustomed to hauling 300 or 400 pound radiators. The plumbers hauled away the old radiator. I really could not watch it.
I am very happy with my radiator!
