"We repaired the customer's floating neutral issue but we are not taking responsibility for the cause of loose wire connections. The customer has a 30-year-old Electrical Panel with a lot of improper circuit breakers installed in it. The electrical wiring exposed to view in the basement is remanence of Antique 1860-1926 K&T Wire, 1898 Greenfield Non-Equipment Grounding Armor Metal Clad Cable, 1910 Two conductor Fabric Cloth Cable, 1940 Three wire NMC Fabic Cloth Cable. We were hired by the customer to perform a MassSave Knob and Tube Evaluation. I have over 48 years as an Electrician working with all types of antique wiring. We visually look for the Knob and Tube Wiring in open structural framing. We visually found Knob and Tube Wiring running into the customer Electrical Panel. Upon opening the cover to the panel we viewed two, Knob and Tube Wire conductors taped up with old cloth rubber tape in the corner of the upper area of the panel enclosure. Knob and Tube Wiring has only two conductors and no equipment ground. We removed the two Knob and Tube Wire conductors from the enclosure. We got a call from the customer several days later claiming that his heating system was not operating as normal only intermittently. So we went back to the home, found the power conductors to the Heating Furnace which was Greenfield Armor Cable, and traced the cable circuit conductors from splice box to splice box all the way to the electrical panel. We tested and tightened every splice along the way and tightened every terminal screw in the customer's electrical panel. There were three instances where the neutral conductors were loose in the splice caps and included, most of the wires conductors of the neutral bar. First of all the Heating System is a major appliance and should have a dedicated circuit to the electrical panel. Second, the customer's Heating System was spliced into the basement lighting circuit. So, doing this procedure solved the floating neutral issue at NO CHARGE! We did not cause the customer's Furnace to fail."

"We are sorry that you didn't understand the deal you purchased. Both our Licensed Journeyman Electrician and our Office Manager of 35 + years experience tried to explain the deal to you as the work was taking place. We tried to satisfy your needs the best we could, but you were so resilient and ignored our attempts with offers to please you. As explained to you, the electrical receptacle outlet that you requested to be modified has additional circuits connecting and spliced together within the weatherproof outlet box that supplies power to your landscape lighting circuit with raceway piping. It does not resemble the picture of the deal nor the description of the work required of the deal that is offered. Your application is very unusual requiring parts that are not commonly stocked within our warehouse on wheels. We will certainly provide the service to repair the equipment but not at the price of the deal that does not apply. Because you are an Angie's List member we always give a discounted labor rate as we do with all members."
"Thank you for the review [Member Name Removed], we appreciate it. It was John McCurdy, the owner of the business, that spoke with you yesterday. Please do not hesitate to contact our office if you have any additional questions regarding your smoke detection devices."

"We have the service call received from the customer for a Mass Save Knob & Tube Wire Evaluation with a payment 9/12/019 - Our scheduler took Visa payment of $250 auth #. We sent two electricians to meet the customer to conduct the evaluation as a service scope of work, requiring tools, not a free Estimate. Mass Save Knob and Tube Evaluation - Mass Save offers a $250 rebate to hire an electrician to determine if the wiring is live. With a copy of the Electricians marked paid invoice for the services rendered, send it to Mass Save, and be reimbursed for up to $250.00. The customer met with our electricians and stated that he had another electrician out previously and handed over a list of locations, just in the apartment living spaces, wear outlets found to be associated with knob and tube wiring. We ask about the basement and attic spaces, as they were not listed. The customer stated that it was not necessary to go through the apartments, but the customer leads us to the basement as we requested. The basement was found to be partially finished living space with rooms separated with partition walls. We identified four circuits of Knob & Tube wiring and where it leads through the finished rooms, up chase ways to the upper levels and back to several electrical panels. We tested all the K&T Wiring to be live. Our company also took the time provided a detailed mapping of the additional locations we found in conjunction with his list and a proposal which included a dustless process of replacing the K&T Wiring."
"We conducted a 37 point inspection that became a diagnostic discovery to develop a finding. To be honest, there is a bit of work to perform to correct the issues thus a hefty price. Maybe this is why we received only a C Rating. The findings were explained to the customer verbally in person and a cost Estimate Proposal was sent to the customer to make repairs. The electrical issues found are that even though the finish living space looks freshly newer with modern switch devices, receptacle devices and lighting fixtures the frail building wiring and method of wiring is from the 1930s and not today's code standard. The electrician found open wiring behind lighting fixtures, no outlet boxes or proper wire splice caps. The lighting fixtures were screwed into the second sheet-rock ceiling loosely. Some LED bulbs where being used in lighting fixtures that are not compatible with the proper LED switch devices that will cause flashing and flicking. It would be very practicable to hire a good Professional Electrician to reveal the condition of the existing wiring and method of wiring by removing all lighting fixtures and removing devices throughout the condo unit. We have made many attempts to reach the customer but without a response reply."
