All work was done in semi-urban backyard with several nearby 3-story homes. Neighbors at the back kindly cooperated by granting access to their driveway for cherry picker and other equipment.

The gentleman was very nice, but unfortunately the project didn’t match the deal. They were prompt coming out, and he was honest and thorough in his analysis and estimate.

It was fine. I definitely spent more than what I purchased the big deal for but I was very pleased with the advice that they gave me and I knew that it was going to cost more. I spent an additional $700 for the service. They gave me a very good advice. I was thinking about taking some trees down and they said that they really did not need to come down and that they could just do some trimming. They really just gave me a decent advice about how to keep the trees which I was happy with. There was one thing that they forgot to do but I never called them to come back and finish it so that was kind of my own fault.

Fantastic! Jim met me at my house to assess my trees' needs. I was certain that my dying/dead ash tree had to be removed, but was uncertain about the health of a nearby oak. Jim walked my property with me and evaluated the health and needs of each tree. He assured me that my oak was in good shape, but would benefit from some fertilizer in the Spring. He recommended pruning back the maples along my property border that were encroaching on the yard. He prompted me about any other questions that I had, and offered his opinions regarding pruning the spruces along my driveway. On the day of the work, he arrived with the crew, and we made another walk around with the crew supervisor confirming the work that was planned. I went to work, and when I got home, it had all been executed perfectly and to plan.

Upon signing up for the Angies List Deal, I was immediately contacted by Maureen of Sav-A-Tree to schedule a meeting with the arborist Jim. We scheduled the time for 3:30 on a Friday afternoon, and Jim showed up promptly for the meeting. Jim inspected the tree and we discussed what work needed to be done. Jim provided a fair price for the work and we accepted his proposal. Jim said he anticipated doing the work within a week or two, eventhough we had close to 2 feet of snow on the ground.Jim contacted me several days after we met, and scheduled the work for Thursday 2/20/14, less than 1 week after meeting with him.
His crew arrived right on time and and did an excellent job of pruning and shaping the tree. They also did an excellent job of cleaning out an area that had 2 small dead trees and a large entanglement of an invasive vine that killed the trees. His crews were very neat and considering that they had to drag the limbs and debris through 2 feet of snow, from the backyard to the chipper in the driveway, they did an excellent job of cleaning up the area.
Given the promptness and professionalism displayed by everyone we dealt with at Sav-A-Tree, we would definitely call them again for any other tree work we would require.

We had Sav a Tree out to give us a bid on some tree work that we need completed. The job is a bit tricky because of the location and size of the tree. The Sav a Tree representative was honest and forthright that takedown jobs were not their specialty and that the job would not be a good fit. We appreciated their honesty and their desire to give us the information we needed. We would certainly call them for the health and maintenance of existing landscape.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service. They are very professional and keep in touch. I have used them subsequently for other services and they are always very good. I have used them for fertilization and spraying as well. They are attentive and are easy to contact. They are good at keeping in contact and are excellent providers. I particularly like working with Stefan, the arborist.

The arborist, Mr. Alton Cole, is a pleasure to work with. He is detail-oriented, quick-witted, and has a nice sense of humor.
We contacted him originally via an Angie's List Big Deal which saved us about $100.00 when compared with the competition who also gave us a price quotation. Because we live slightly out of the normal business range of Sav-A-Tree it took them a little longer than expected to make the trip out to see us. The crew left the area broom-clean and were eager to ensure our needs and expectations were met. We would happily use their services again.

They were supposed to do a good deal of tree work, but they never performed the service. I called back about the lack of movement on the trimming and was told the Arborist was on vacation but that he would get it done upon his return. They did show up to do a fertilizer treatment, but never followed through on what I truly wanted done, which was cleaning up some large old trees on our property. As far as I can tell, the fertilizer service went fine. A very disappointing experience.

Overall the work went well. We were happy with the results. But we landed up spending a lot more than we had anticipated mainly because SavAtree's pricing was much higher than their competition. We do not plan on using them again, unless there is a huge promotion.
