This is a great day! We were finally able to get rid of this unprofessional, dishonest, incredibly rude company! Hallelujah!! First, we were told at set up how the previous owners of our home were "lesbians who never paid their bill". Then we had 2 gas leaks in which they tried lieing about. We got multiple invoices with different amounts owed, they would take 4 months to respond to our emails leading to finance/late charges. I cannot fit in this small space everything that happened over the course of 2 years, I am SO glad we never have to deal with these people again! GO GREEN, GET RID OF GAS. They will tell you themselves they dont need your business!

It went horribly. Over the years we have tolerated the higher prices and spotty service, but no more will I patronize this inferior company who simply does not understand customer satisfaction on a basic level of fairness and decency. The worker who removed the tank was beligerent, disrespectful, and clearly ignorant regarding the facts of this particular situation.
Description of Work: After over 20 years of being a loyal customer, I regret that I am thoroughly disgusted and disappointed with Wrightingtons Gas. We have a detached garage with a propane heater that was not working for approximately 11 months. After 6 months, Wrightingtons sent a bill in the amount of 369.00 for "minimal usage" charge, even though they had not delivered gas for 11 months because the tank was 100% full! Today they showed up un-announced and removed the tank while the heater was running, effectively stealing the propane that had been paid in full for over a year ago. When confronted, the worker was verbally hostile and spewed profanities toward me when I explained that the propane was paid for over a year ago and that the heater was just recently repaired.

I moved into my house which uses propane for cooking and heating. The company had already installed the propane tank into the house which means that we cannot use anyone besides them to buy fuel and fill our tank. Today I called and asked them to fill our tank with $800 of fuel. This comes out to filling the tank (500 gallons) over half full. The company responded that they only come out for a minimum of 300 gallons (About $150 more). I stated that I was unaware of this policy but I needed the $800 as winter is coming and I have a newborn baby at home. They refused to come out for less than the 300 gallons. The company has come out in the past for lower balances. I do not believe they can do this. I HAVE to use them to heat my home. There is no other option for us because they installed the equipment before we moved in. I'm not trying to get anything free. I'm trying to PAY for $800 of fuel and they are FORCING me to buy more.
Description of Work: As our exclusive provider, they refused to deliver $800 of propane to fill their tank and heat our home without making us purchase $150 more.

Response from Wrightington Gas Inc
The customer purchased this BRAND NEW home (4 bedroom 2 ½ bath colonial) on March 7, 2011 and set-up an account with this company on March 11, 2011. On that date he signed a five (5) year underground contract that has provisions for a buyout as we did not charge for the underground tank installation which would have been over $6,000.00. The customer has options to purchase the tank and/or have it removed and go with another gas supplier. This company installed a five hundred (500) gallon underground propane storage tank at this location that services the FHA furnace, water heater, fireplace heater and cooking stove. The customer asked for automatic delivery. His first delivery was July 5, 2011 and continued on automatic delivery until his account became delinquent and shut-off due to no payment in 3 months. The next delivery was made on May 22, 2012 in which the customer only left a check for less than what we told him he needed and the driver gave him enough gas that his check would cover. That check then became insufficient and the customer was advised that in the future the account would now be on a Will Call COD basis and to call when the gauge on the tank was at 20% that would allow ample time to get his funds in order and to allow this company 7-10 working days to schedule his delivery which is normally done on Tuesdays. At that time it was reiterated that there would be a minimum delivery of 300 gallons in a 500 gallon tank. The customer has received the last two (2) deliveries at 313.4 gallons on 12/4/12 and 313.5 gallons on 3/22/13. He is very well aware of our company policy and it states such on his contract and will call sheet. At approximately 8:30am yesterday (10/24/13) the customer called and requested a delivery and told us what he was going to pay. It was not enough for a minimum of 300 gallons. We told him he needed an additional $157 and we would schedule him for Tuesday, October 29, 2013. He was not happy with having to come up with another $157. We reminded him of our company policy that he was well aware of in the past. He became belligerent and threated to place a formal complaint to the Attorney General’s Office (where he says his wife works) and call the local TV channel 7 to picket at our place of business for unfair business practices. He then demanded to speak with the office manager and/or owner of the company as it was his right and against the law to refuse his request. He spoke with the President of the company as well as the Office Manager and they both told him the same information. He also said that it was against the law for us to refuse his delivery due to the fact he has a new born baby. We are not refusing to deliver to him. He still has gas in his tank. We are however; refusing to delivery anything less than the minimum delivery. The customer called back at approximately 8:55am yesterday (October 24, 2013)and stated he had the amount needed for the 300 gallons and to put him in for a delivery for Tuesday, October 29, 2013 and to remind us that he will continue to search his avenues to register complaints against this company. We have customers that are COD and budget themselves by sending in what they can afford to be applied as a credit to their account so they are not put in this predicament to have to come up with a large amount all at once. It has been seven (7) months since his last delivery and if he sent in money periodically over that period of time he would have had a credit on his account. We have policies and procedures to abide by that are explained to each customer when they sign on with this company. The customer is not held captive to this company, he has options.
