The delivery was made to my daughter-in-law and the focal point of the arrangement was a "Thomas Kinkaid" house, with some flowers around the base of the house. Most of those flowers were carnations and some of them did not look as fresh as they should have. She called Elsie's to express her disappointment. She was told by a female employee that delivery had been attempted 2 days in a row during the day (they both work normal working hours). So this was now the third day (which to me means the flowers were not real fresh & would be even less fresh by Christmas dinner a couple days later). She requested a new arrangement & the employee was not pleased about that (mentioned the distance from their shop - about 20 min.) When the 2nd arrangement arrived, my daughter-in-law was not home & my son declined delivery because it was entirely different that the first -- it did not have the Thomas Kinkaid house on it, which at this point they were assuming that was what I had wanted them to receive. My son called me and I told him that I had specifically requested a dinner table arrangement of flowers --not the house, which I am aware are quite expensive. So in reality the second delivery was more in line with what I had requested. My son immediately called his wife who was in her car and she called the flower shop to say she was near the location and could pick up the arrangement. This time she spoke with a man who she was told at a later date when she called for some information that he was the owner. This is what she said about that call. He was extremely rude on the phone and not respectful of her comments and opinion -- which means he was not treating ME as an important customer. He had no interest in what she had to say and was not allowing her to finish her sentences and continued to speak over her. He probably never heard her say she did not expect him to deliver again and that she would pick up the arrangement. He kept repeating how the other employees said the flowers in the first delivery were perfect and it should not have been refused. Then continued to rant about the second arrangement, even though she was attempting to apolgoize for the confusion -- he never did let her finish telling him why my son felt the need at that time to refuse it. At this point, he was so wound up, he told her to just forget the order -- he was cancelling it!! And he hung up on her! She immediately dialed back and apparantly when he saw her number, the phone was picked up and then immediatley hung up. This was my Christmas present to my son's family and needless to say I was very angry -- how dare he ruin my Christmas gift to them. I did receive my money back from my local Florist and have no complaints with them at all. They also were made aware of the whole ordeal that we went through by me and my daughter-in-law and were extremely sympathetic and apologetic.
Description of Work: This is a collaboration of information by me -- the mother-in-law who ordered an arrangement from Elsie's -- and the son and daughter-in-law who were to be the recipient of the arrangement. I am a woman who lives in New York and ordered an FTD Floral Table Arrangement for my son and daughter-in-law's Christmas dinner table from Elsie's Flower Shop. The details of the services performed -- or should I say NOT PERFORMED -- is that the order was cancelled in anger by the owner of Elsie's.
