After about 5 usings, it started to fall apart. Screws loosened and the switch to start the burners stopped working. I went into the store and they had a new manager. He was a piece of work. He looked me in the eye, cursed out the previous manager and said that he was against the store policy of agreeing to take anything back that a customer said was not satisfactory! I told him I would put the credit against a new purchase and he said he was not interested in that. He wanted me to bring it back and I said I couldn't. He finally said he would pick it up after work and would call me when he had a convenient time for him. When I didn't hear from for about a week, I went into the store. After going on again about how if it was up to him, nothing would be done, he agreed to pick it up that day after work. The store closed at 6 PM. I went out to dinner with my wife around 8:00. When I got back there was a telephone message that he had been there around 8:30 and I would now have to bring it back to get credit. He was not going to come back again. I called the President of the store. He said he would take care of everything. A few days later I went into the store and he told me again that he was against the store policy and guessed that he had to pick it up. I agreed. I also chose a new Weber in exchange. Unfortunately the automatic lighter switch did not work. He never answered my call. I went into the store to find out what should be done. A regular employee did not know what could be done and said that if I could not fix it, someone would come out to the house. I asked him to have the manager call me. No response. I called the president again telling him of my continuing bad experience. He told me he knew that manager very well and he was one of his best. I stopped at the local Sear's store and they told me that all I had to do was push the propane wire piece closer to the lighter. That did it. I'll never shop there again, even though the people in the store were always especially nice and always gave my puppy treats. With that kind of a store manager and those reactions by the president, I wonder about the quality of this chain. I suggest that shopping in the Great Barrington store is a mistake. Carr's has everything,, including nice people who are interested in their customers.
