Byrne Plumbing

Byrne Plumbing are veryknowledgeable and provided an excellent explanation of the work that needed to be completed, in advance of the actual work commencing. I have worked with other plumbers in the area they are by far the best. I would like to use Byrne Plumbing for all future plumbing projects. My only hesitation writing this review is that I hope too many people do not start using them?but that is selfish and they deserve to thrive.

Called Joe and he came right over that afternoon. Had the repair done in 30 minutes for a VERY reasonable price. I highly recommend Byrne Plumbing!

Joe was on time, professional and polite.

I called Joe about a slow leak I had in one of the major pipes in the house I wouldn't dare try to fix myself. He did all the work in under an hour. I also mentioned in passing a forced hot water issue I was having in my dining room, specifically I couldn't turn the heat off. He had a look at the boiler and 15 minutes later that was fixed too. If there was an extra charge I couldn't tell because the bill was so low!

I gave Joe a "B" in responsiveness only because I found that between e-mail and phone communication, the responsiveness was not as sharp as I would have hoped. Maybe other more emergent issues were pressing but I felt it took more prodding on my part to get a date set for an look/repair that I would have hoped. Given all the positive reviews, I stuck it out and I'm glad I did. We had agreed a week ago that Joe would be out at 9:30 am today. Last night I get a call to confirm 9 am - earlier than anticipated but doable and better for me. We discussed the issues and the potential cost for repairs at around $250-300 and about 2 hours of time. A reasonable price for what I was asking for so I agreed to move forward. At 9 am he arrived and was kind to greet the 2 small kids and the dog. Actually my son followed him around pretty much the entire time. He went straight to work on the bath tub and saw the issue right away. He proceeded to show me how to turn the water off to the house. It is always a good thing to know. He had the tub open in a jiffy, and he replaced the water flow parts that needed to be replaced and even offered me to replace a part that was likely to go next. I conceded to the additional repair to be safe. During the repair Joe was stumped by the drip still continuing even after replacing the rubber washers and parts. He tweaked with it more and by the end, the drip was gone. It wasn't a complicated job, but I'm not a plumber and I'm just glad to have it done right. I was also impressed with his willingness to show me and talk me through the whole process if I ever wanted to attempt it myself. It's good info to have, but not one I'm willing to do. He also wasn't distracted by the 2 year old watching his every move and inspecting the old parts. It was actually very cute to watch. He then proceeded to the front sillcock outside which required unscrewing it from the house, cutting the copper pipe inside the basement, and removing the old setup. In no time at all he had created the new pipe and sillcock, had attached it to the house and was soldering a coupler to the old and now new pipe. When it was done it was nice to see a new, useable sillcock on the front of the house. No Drips! When it was all said and done, he came in a little under 2 hours of labor, he cleaned up everything that he brought into the house and presented me with a bill $215.50. I was very impressed. Great work, great professional and friendly attitude, an extra fix on the fly, and still all under the phone quoted price. I will definitely use Joe again.

Joe arrived an hour earlier than his estimated time - Wow! I have never had any service professional do that before. He quickly assessed the issue, and began the repair. In no time, I heard the water running and he had finished, and had made sure nothing was leaking...perfect. I had asked him earlier if he had time, if he would snake the drain. He had told me that the drain was running fine, but if I wanted him to - he would snake it anyway - but he didn't think it would make a difference. I asked him to do it anyway -and shortly after he started...something happened. Apparently the force of the snake caused a coupling/seal?? (not sure I'm using the correct lingo) on my 72 year old pipes to break - causing a leak. Joe quickly assessed the situation, and replaced the parts - and still had everything working great within one hour! His price was extremely reasonable. Joe was very pleasant and didn't even mind my curious puppy hanging around! I will recommend Joe to my friends and family, and won't hesitate to call him for future jobs.

As usual, we are completely satisfied with the work he did. He was punctual, careful, and competent. His prices are competitive, and he tries to save us money whenever possible. We feel he treats us as he would friends or family. We couldn't ask for more. We would give him ten stars if we could.

Joe rushed right out and gave us an immediate quote the day we called him. He was extremely patient with us. We experienced unforeseen delays and had to reschedule. However, Joe took it all in stride when many other contractors and tradesmen would have bailed out on us. The day of the work, Joe arrived early and worked in conjunction with the company replacing the actual water service. He was always courteous and professional. Due to his professionalism, timely response, quality of work, value and patience with us we will absolutely use him again.

The estimate went very well. Joe was professional and identified the problem immediately.

Joe spliced in a new whole house water filter to our pvc main water line, adding 2 shutoff valves and retaining the existing one. He was working in somewhat cramped quarters but did a nice clean job. He showed real concern for usability, making sure it was installed such that getting access to the filter cartridge was simple and installing a better pressure relief valve since he said the pressure relief button on the filter housing is known to leak eventually. He had cleaned up and was about to leave but after a final check on his work, he noticed a slow drip, so he spent another 45 minutes correcting it. Very conscientious, pleasant man, arrived right on time and was done within the time he estimated it would take. The job cost about 5% less than he estimated. He appears to respond more quickly to a phone call than to email, but he does do email. I would hire him again and would recommend him.

I called Joe on a Monday, and he was out to take a look at the job and give me an estimate that day. He came on Wednesday morning and competed the job as we had discussed. He did a very professional job replacing the backflow preventer and set it up so that it would be easy to remove for the winter or replace if needed. I only spoke to him on the phone, but my wife met him and said that he was the most professional contractor that she has ever worked with.

It was a reasonably difficult job and I think he did very well.

What a nice surprise! A really nice and honest man showed up. When we ask about a hot water heater (in addition to some pipe moving and shutoff valves) he inquired about our furnace which we said we were going to replace with a gas boiler. He told us that our best bet was to go through the gas company who would give us a better price for furnace AND hot water heater than he or any plumber could do. When we add a bathroom, he is the top of our list. Great find! Freindly, honest and great work.

Joe arrived on time as scheduled. He did an excellent job replacing my faucet the the pipe connection and was very careful not to scratch my floor with his tools. He asked me several questions about the new faucet before proceeding to be sure I understood the installation process. I found him to be very professional and knowledgeable and I would definitely use his services again.

Joe did an excellent job in every project that he has undertaken. He is proficient, focused, personable and, most importantly, honest. He will not propose a job if he doesn't feel that it is necessary. I would highly recommend him.

He was very very good. He was on time, he was reliable, and he showed up.

He was a solo guy. The work went fine. He was scheduled to come on a Monday. He came on a Saturday. It wasn’t really a bad thing. He came on a Saturday because he had a better job to do on a Monday. That was one thing I didn’t like. His price was average. It was reasonable for a plumber. The quality was okay; so far so good. I would use him in the future.

Joe is exactly what I look for in a contractor of any type. He arrived on time, answered calls promptly, and worked from beginning to end. We would not hesitate to use or recommend him to anyone

Joe installed a reverse-osmosis water tap in our kitchen, cleaned the drain, and repaired a bathroom faucet. He is terrific--reliable, courteous, professional. I highly recommend him!

He arrived 1/2 an hour early. Unfortunately we didn't hear the doorbell. We called 1/2 hour after the appointment and he explained he had already come. He gladly came back to the house immediately and did the work. He disconnected and old gas dryer and connected a new one. That included the gas lines and dryer vent. He tested the dryer and even checked the vent operation on the outside of the house. He then removed the old dryer without us even having to ask. He did an excellent job. We'll definitely hire him again.

It went great!! The kitchen faucet started leaking and would not shut off. I called Byrne Plumming first thing the next morning and he called right back. He was hear by early afternoon. I had originally called just about the kitchen faucet and while he was here he also fixed the stopper that fell out of the bathroom sink and adjusted our water pressure so we could actually fill our tub in less than an hour. Joe even called the next day to make sure I was happy with everything.

Found Joe Byrnes on Angie's list. This guy is by far the best contractor I have dealt with. I have an old-gas boiler with a rare problem that was difficult to diagnose. Joe got to the bottom of it. He charged me so much less than what I though the job would cost that I almost felt like he made a mistake on the bill. I'd recommend Joe to anyone. He's a nice guy, does a great job, and moreover, has restored my faith that there are still guys doing business the way my dad use to do.
