Short and sweet.

They were great.

We initially called Jim to install a water based backup sump pump, which was recommended by our home inspector, in our new house. When he got here, he had misunderstood us and had the wrong pump, but then he tested our water pressure and said it wasn't enough to power that type of pump (we called to our home inspector, and he agreed). Instead of just taking our money, he passed on a $500 job, told us our current setup was adequate, and instead pointed out a couple of less expensive but important jobs which he did for us, detailed above. Great guy, very prompt, enjoyable to talk to, quality work, reasonable rate, and very honest. He's our new plumber.

The initial call was promptly returned, and Jim came by to look at the shower that same afternoon. Both on the phone and in person, he listened to our experiences so far. He took the time to explain both how the system is supposed to work and his reasoning for thinking it was the shower valve. We were skeptical because that had been replaced earlier by another plumber: Jim said that he'd start there and we shouldn't pay him until the problem was fixed. When he couldn't get the part he needed to fix the current valve, he brought a new one and installed that. He was indeed correct that our valve had been installed improperly (including one piece upside down!) and was broken during the process. The new valve maintains temperature beautifully.

Jim called to tell me he would be a little late and arrived 10 minutes later. He had the exact faucet I needed with him and he replaced the old one. He needed to replace filters on some of the other faucets and returned in a couple of hours to handle that problem. I was more than satisfied with his work and felt the cost was very reasonable. A few days later he proved why Angie's list is where everyone should go to find professional services. We discovered a leak from the bathroom he worked on had caused damage to the ceiling in the room under it. I called him on Saturday night of Memorial Day weekend and he came right over. Even though the leak was not caused by his work, he stayed and fixed it and didn't charge me anything. Obviously, I highly recommend Jim Kougeas to everyone.

Mr. Kougeas was prompt, listened to my concern, checked where I suspected the leak to be coming from and convinced me that in fact the leak was coming from water dripping out from the shower curtain. Many of the tiles in the shower also need to be re grouted and the grout around the tub also needs attention.

Jim came to the house within 20 mins. of my initial phone call. To my embarrassment, the problem was simply a clogged faucet screen. He fixed it quickly and mercifully did not rib me about why I didn't see the problem myself. He was also affable and courteous and a pleasure to do business with.

As with our previous work (11/06), Jim was no BS, very reasonably priced, and educational. We have more work for him and will not hesitate to get his help again.

He was fast, they work awesome! Called me back rather quickly as well. Clean and tidy. Found extra problems and put everything back together when he was done. The price was reasonable as well.

Jim arrived on time for his estimate, was thoughtful about finding the least expensive and best way to solve my sink drainage problem. I had a previous estimate as high as $3,000. On the day he was scheduled to do the work, he and his assistant showed up promptly, and got the work done early. As part of a prior agreement, he left the rough carpentry for me to complete -- and left it in good condition to do so. Best plumbing experience I've had.

Very good. Jim came on time and provided us an estimate for the work. He didn't have the fitting he needed with him, and he came back on time as scheduled and completed the work.

They did a super job, promptly returned calls and were available when we needed them. They are really nice guys and even went out of their way to add finishing touches to one bathroom before Thanksgiving day.

I contacted this company by email, and they responded by the next morning, and we set up a housecall within the next 24 hours. Extremely responsive. However, I discovered that I had a service contract with my gas company and so I ended up canceling my appointment. I was very impressed by the responsiveness and will keep them on my list!

Mr. Kougeas arrived on time first thing in the morning, gave us an estimate and performed the first part of the work that day. He ordered and picked up a broken part for our shower faucet and replaced it the next week. He was timely, reliable and performed the work well. He comes with an assistant.

Jim the plumber and I played phone tag, but he continued to call back to set up a time to do the work. He arrived on time. He had underestimated the time needed to complete the job, but he returned that day to do the work. Very pleased with the punctuality and the work.

He was very pleasant and efficient and let us know up front what it would cost.

Mr. Kougeas called back the same day and came the next day. He spent over 1 1/2 hours trying to repair the toilets (which we had been told needed to be replaced)and charged us nothing. He made suggestions on what models to purchase, and installed them perfectly. We will hire him back for some more plumbing repairs around the house. He was very professional,efficient and neat, as well as a pleasure to work with.

HE ALSO WENT AROUND THE HOUSE TO SEE IF I NEEDED ANY OTHER WORK DONE, AND DID NOT CHARGE ME FOR THE EXTRA.

James Kougeas returned my call very quickly. He was able to schedule us for work the next day, which was a Saturday. He arrived right on time and worked for three hours very efficiently and without any breaks. He did an excellent job on every task. I would certainly call him again to fix any plumbing problems.

RETURNED THE CALL THE SAME DAY, ARRIVED WHEN SCHEDULED, AND PERFORMED THE WORK WITHOUT INCIDENT.

JIM WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL, ALWAYS APPEARING AS SCHEDULED, OR NOTIFYING ME IN A TIMELY WAY THAT HE WOULD BE LATE OR UNAVAILABLE. HE DID NOT CONSIDER THE JOB COMPLETE UNTIL THE WORK AREA WAS AS CLEAN AS IT WAS BEFORE THE WORK BEGAN. JIM WAS ALSO VERY EFFECTIVE AT HIRING AND COORDINATING OTHER SERVICE PROVIDERS NEEDED TO COMPLETE THE JOB. AND YES, THE NEW SYSTEMS WORK THE WAY THEY SHOULD.
