Scott Stacey owner of the Landscaping company came out to access the needs of my new property, which needed a new landscape design.  Scott came in with some new ideas, and listened to my wants and incorporated them into a beautiful design to the front of my new home.  He also took out an entire perennial garden that was not to my taste and made it into a vegetable garden for me to use.  He built me a new patio off the existing deck and a new built in fire pit which I love.. The crew of Fairview Landscaping came out and worked very hard when Mr. Stacey said they would...Alot of their work depends on the weather so when the weather was good, they were here.  The work was amazing...My yard looked awesome and I was able to enjoy my new home and my new yard.
I would highly recommend Fairview Landscaping for your Landscaping needs.  Scott Stacey is very honest, and knowledgeable about his work.  I continue to use them for all my landscaping needs.

The initial interaction went well.  He walked around the yard and listened to my needs about what was a priority for me.  I was given a three page proposal for what services were to be accomplished and I submitted a deposit of $140.00.  Then, nothing happened.  My emails to the owner were not answered promptly.  I had to contact him finally because no one had shown up to even cut the grass.  It was so overgrown.  Then I requested that he come to visit the house because of the yard looks atrocious.  I felt that there was no sense of urgency on his part, no personal interest was shown, and there was no customer appreciation displayed at any time.  There was no attempt at customer recovery by this company.  I would not recommend them to anyone at anytime.
Response from FAIRVIEW LANDSCAPING
"I will not disagree with the member, that this project did not go as smoothly as we would both have liked. We had a great initial meeting 3/16/11, and I did get understand her needs. Her biggest issue, was that she had a tenant that loved to garden, and created a very high maintenance landscape throughout her yard. This tenant was moving out, and she desired a much simpliar lower maintenance landscape. During our initial visit, I described what we could do for her, and she was very reseptive to my ideas. On 3/28/11 she gives me an e-mail approval for a Spring Clean-up and to start bi-weekly mowing. (which starts the beginning of May). On 4/8 she e-mails me "Now, however, I have a little issue at my end. Turns out Kevin (upstairs neighbor who is moving out at the end of the month) got restless and did the spring cleaning, much to my surprise. I got home from work last night and found the gardens edged and the clean up done. Would it be possible to keep your services on hold until I am able to talk to the new folks moving in? I apologize for all this confusion and so appreciate your flexibility. I guess my eagerness to make sure the yard was taken care of has gotten me into a little bit of a predicament at this point." At this point, I am under the impression, that the Spring clean-up has been completed. The next E-mail I get, is on 4/20/11 "I finally got to meet the new owners of the upstairs condo. The woman says she likes gardening a little, but not to the degree that is currently there. The garden has been pillaged by the gentleman moving out, so any time after April 29th, you can begin. My thought at this point, would be a “spring cleaning” to the degree that you will need to reorganize what is left and plant grass where appropriate – making the garden area much smaller and the grass area much larger." On 5/5/11"I just wanted to follow up with you to see where things stand with this request? Do you need anything additional from me? Are we all set and will you begin in the near future? Looking forward to hearing from you and working with you." I respond on 5/5/11 "I will try and get in there next week to get the place organized." As we all know, we had a very wet month in May this year. With this weather, we fell way behind in our scheduled work. The member requested that we get startted with mowing the lawn, and we got her into the schedule starting the week of the 16th. We cut the members property on a bi-weekly basis till she canceled services on 6/22/11. I will be the first to admit, that this project took longer than it should have under normal weather conditions, but that is not what we have had this year. I am not sure why the member would say that there were delays in returning her e-mails, as almost all e-mails were returned the same day or within 24 hours. I have all e-mails from the member to back this up. I do wish that this had gone smoother, and I do wish that the spring had been less wet. Most of the work to be completed at the members home can not be done in the rain, or with wet materials, as the end result would also not be to their liking. Like most reputable companies, having unhappy clients is not our goal. In the end we refunded her entire deposit, and did not charge her for the mowings that were completed before they canceled services."

I have not been happy with their services. I tried to reschedule my times for my lawn work but they keep on coming on a regular basis. Trimming my bushes is a part of my contract and they haven't ever done it. They also keep sending me bills when I don't need to be billed. Its just not well organized.

They always show up on time to do the work. They are always very courteous when they are working. They leave me a note on the door to let me know that they were their. They have never had to reschedule on me at all.

The landscaping team did a terrible job with the clean-up - they spent less than 30 minutes walking around the yard with leafblowers - anything that the blowers did not take care of they left behind. In addition, they destroyed an entire bed of tulips that were in bloom with the leafblowers. When we contacted the company owner, he was unapologetic. He also promised to refund our deposit for the clean-up but did not do so. We subsequently found another landscaper (Bianchi Landscaping) who did a much better job for a lower price.

Scott Stacey was great. I initially did have some trouble contacting him, and sometimes he didn't return calls right away, but once I got him on the phone, he was easy to deal with. Work was completed in two days and came in $20 under original estimate.

WE HIRED FAIRVIEW LANDSCAPING TO MOW AND MAINTAIN OUR LAWN THIS PAST SEASON. THEY DID AN EXCELLENT JOB, PICKED UP ALL GRASS CLIPPINGS, TRIMMED GRASS ON EDGES AND AROUND STONE WALLS, AND UNLIKE THE PREVIOUS COMPANY WHO WORKED FOR US, DID NOT DESTROY ANYTHING IN OUR GARDENS. SCOTT IS VERY PERSONABLE AND NOTHING IS A PROBLEM. HE IS ALSO EXTREMELY RESPONSIVE - HIS BUSINESS NUMBER IS HIS CELL PHONE, SO YOU SPEAK WITH HIM IF YOU CALL HIS COMPANY, WHICH IS RARE IN THIS DAY OF VOICE MENUS AND VOICE MAIL. IF HE CANNOT PICK UP, WHICH IS RARE, HE RETURNS HIS VOICE MAIL MESSAGES RIGHT AWAY. HE ALSO COMMUNICATES VERY QUICKLY BY EMAIL, AND IS RIGHT ON TOP OF ALL CUSTOMER QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS. HIS CREW IS VERY CONSCIENTIOUS AND THEY SEEM TO ENJOY THEIR WORK. WE ALSO HIRED SCOTT'S COMPANY TO DO SPRING AND FALL CLEAN-UP, AND THEY DO A BEAUTIFUL JOB. WE PLAN TO USE SCOTT'S COMPANY AND HIS SERVICES NEXT YEAR TOO.
