Outstanding workmanship and, just as important, honest, professional, and quick to respond if there is a problem.

I have, in the past, hired "some guy" to do various jobs for me. Perhaps "some guy" was the lowest bidder. Occasionally "some guy" was a deal right here on Angie's List. Often they were someone who just cold called me with an unbelievable offer. Capital Construction probably won't beat "some guy's" price. But over the years I realized that I was calling "some guy", or maybe "some other guy", to redo the work that was done poorly the first time around. Not so with the projects I've had done by Capital.

This is the third major project I've done with Capital. Things never go perfectly, but one thing I'm certain of - when I call this team they always get it fixed in the end. They stand by their work. I fully intend to call them back for the next major project I need done.

From the initial sales consult, the project planning and the actual construction and project wrap up, every step was done with professionalism. The quality workmanship, as well as the efficiency of the crew was impressive.

This repair and rebuild project was difficult and disruptive to our family and home but Ken Fogarty and his crew with CCC Inc did a commendable job of minimizing that disruption and getting this project to move along swiftly and without complication. While we found the overall price to be somewhat higher than other contractors, we chose Capital because they would be able to handle all aspects of the job - the roof work, the interior walls, painting and floor repairs. This was so much easier that my trying to coordinate
with the various subcontractors that would be needed on this kind of job. The roof work was done quickly, a dumpster temporarily placed in the driveway and a large crew was present along with a supervisor. The clean up was spotless, everything raked, swept, patio furniture all put back. They took every effort to ensure that water intrusion from the ice dams would never occur again- I appreciated their extra efforts. The interior work required that we move all our furniture into just several rooms so they could do the floors - Ken and his team worked long hours and pushed hard to get this done in a timely manner since we had to stay in a hotel for 6 nights while this was going on. Ken was always available, pleasant and accommodating. The final result with floors all done, walls finished and painted is just great. There isn't a spot off anywhere. We did have trouble with layers of dust on our furniture from the floor work but Ken quickly offered to have Capital pay for a house cleaning when done - very much appreciated and an extra effort. Overall we were completely satisfied with this work and will certainly look to use Capital Construction Contracting Inc again if we have a need.

I have worked with Capital Construction on several occasions for myself and for my family and could not be happier. Jude was great to work with and his professionalism was top notch. Trusting  a company to do work on your home now is hard to come by but with these guys it wasn't a worry at all!!!! Overall, extremely pleased with the price and high quality of work.

I need flashing and a chimney cap. Capital Construction Contracting seems to do both. I called and left a message WITH A PERSON on November 11. Today is November 18. I have not heard from them. Very disappointing and very unprofessional!
Response from Capital Construction Contracting Inc
"Hello, Thank you for your feedback, however, I think there may have been a bit of confusion here. Your call came through our answering service on November 11th at 3:49pm and we returned the call that afternoon. Unfortunately, the number that was left with our answering service did not have a voicemail available. A couple days later, on Friday November 13th, we again tried to reach out to the phone number that was left on the message but were again unsuccessful as there was no voicemail available. We tried again on November 19th and were finally able to leave a voicemail, in which we explained the previous troubles in getting ahold of you. A woman returned our voicemail and we were able to set an appointment for our estimator to go out and see your project for December 2nd, which was the soonest appointment we had available, due to a recent cancellation. We return every phone call we receive and always make repeated attempts to get in contact with the customer. We would appreciate it if you would revise your review and base it on the service you’ll receive during your estimate appointment, rather than on this unfortunate miscommunication. Or if you prefer, please call our offices and we’ll be glad to discuss the situation and address any concerns you may have. We look forward to meeting with you on the 2nd and we hope you are pleased with our professionalism and customer service. Thank you for contacting Capital Construction! Best wishes, David Arrowsmith Owner"

Response from Capital Construction Contracting Inc
"Dear customer, We are very sorry this was your experience. We strive to maintain excellent customer service and provide very clear communication with all customers and potential clients. We believe that going the extra step and taking a bit more time with each customer to ensure their satisfaction with our processes and their home improvement project sets us apart from other contractors. We’re at a loss as to see how your situation fell through the cracks, so to speak. While we understand that a note from us responding to your review isn’t much consolation, we hope that, if possible, you might give us a second chance. We’re very happy that upon first impression you were pleased with our presentation and regret that the rest of your experience didn’t meet expectations. We’d like a chance to rectify that, we can review the notes initially taken at your first appointment and provide a fair bid for your project. However, we do understand if you would not like to move forward, given what had happened. Also, even if you prefer to not move forward with us for your home improvement project, we ask that you give a call to our office manager to see what we might be able to do to make this right. We hope we’ll hear from you as we would love to turn this experience into a happy one. Sincerest regrets and best wishes, David Arrowsmith Owner, Capital Construction"

"Dear customer, We’re very sorry you feel that we did not provide you with great customer service. However, at this time, our schedule is very full, which is what was communicated to you. Your call was regarding a repair project and at this time, our repair team already has projects lined up through the end of the year. Unfortunately, because we can’t guarantee our availability to take on repair work and complete the project in a timely manner due to our full schedule, we informed you that we cannot take on your project at the moment. We do not want to disappoint our customers or provide false promises, we try to make sure we are honest and upfront on every aspect of the project, from initial measure calls to the final walkthrough. We do appreciate every potential client that contacts Capital Construction and we strive to provide exceptional customer service to each and every one of them. We are sorry we couldn’t help at this time, but would be happy to include you on our wait-list and give you a call if we have any cancellations, per our policy. Thank you for the feedback, we always appreciate hearing from our clients. David Arrowsmith Owner, Capital Construction"

We had ceiling damage from an ice dam in the roof.  Having been very happy with exterior work that Capital Construction did for us last year, we wanted only this company to do our interior repairs.  Ken called to make the appointment, came on time, and reviewed the job with his painters. These two painters (Juan and John?) worked on our garage last summer, and we think they are just wonderful  - professional and personable! Later in the day, Ken returned to wrap up the project.  Could not be happier with Capital Construction!

This winter was pretty tough, with over 7 feet of snow. We ended up with an ice dam forming on the roof above our bedroom, which caused significant leaking directly into our bedroom (gallons of water per day).
Capital was the only contractor to return my call when I began calling around, and while they could not respond immediately due to the volume of work they experienced, they were able to schedule a visit to clear off our roof.
Some confusion resulted regarding the date of their visit, and they ended up coming the day before I expected them. Since the leak we had wasn?t fixed by their initial visit, I didn't think they?d come yet. After some back & forth, I received a call from one of their contractors, who said he?d be by the next day to do a bit more work to help us out.
Darryl (sp?) came by that very next day with a bigger ladder than their previous visit, and proceeded to chisel a channel into the ice dam on our roof. This, finally, mitigated the leak in our place.
That portion of things turned out very well in the end, and I was quite please with that.
I followed this up with a request to have the repair of all of this water damage estimated, and had a followup visit from Jude. We reviewed the damage, discussed what needed to be done, and he said he?d email me an estimate.
I have yet to receive said estimate, and followed up with their office manager Karla multiple times before giving up.
So, while they actually got back to me in a ridiculously busy winter season, and provided great service, I?ve been disappointed that I haven?t been able to engage them again.

The arrived on time and three guys went right to work to remove ice dams. They cleaned up after themselves and did a great job. I was very thankful because I had called about ten companies and couldn't get through. Capital came when I needed them and did a spectacular job

I contacted Capital Construction to check on the status if my condo's roof to see if it needed repairs after this winter. It took a couple weeks, but someone came out to take a look and (we thought) an estimate. On Thursday morning he said it would be provided by Monday. Two weeks later I received an email that it was ready. But no, they would not provide anything in writing unless we all met with them, even after I explained that it was an association so that was difficult. After I requested even a ballpark figure of the work they were recommending they declined to propose and I never heard back from them again even when asking a question about ability to meet on a call or come to another a preferred location for the meeting.
I was highly suspicious about a company who would not communicate any information with me. I am the treasurer and as I live on the first floor, the top (third) floor resident was there at the estimate.
Response from Capital Construction Contracting Inc
"Hello [Member name removed], We’re terribly sorry that you did not receive quality customer service. It should have never taken so long for you to be notified of the completion of the proposal. The sales rep you had met was away at training and had technical issues while out of state. These technical issues caused a number of proposals to be delayed. It’s not an excuse, you should have been informed, and we’re very sorry you were not kept up-to-date. Further, regarding the appointment requested to review your proposal: It is our policy, per Certified Contractor Network guidelines, to sit with the customer to review proposals that are above a specific scope of work. We find this is a great tool for both the customer and our sales team, as it allows the customer to ask any questions, provide feedback to the sales rep, and ensure the proposal is accurate and completely encompasses the work requested. We outline all products that will be used, as well as each step that will be taken so the customer is completely aware of what is included in our pricing as well as what will be happening within their home. This policy has served our customers and our contractors very well in the past, and should have been explained to you in the beginning. We do allow some flexibility to this policy, only under very special circumstances. We’re truly sorry that these pieces were not explained previously. We strive to reach and exceed every customer’s expectations and are truly disappointed that we did not meet yours. We have addressed the issues internally and will continue to work toward flawless customer service and a high level of craftsmanship. We would like an opportunity to show you our professionalism and dedication to customer service, if you have need of us. We appreciate the feedback and hope for a chance to prove this isn’t just lip-service. Thank you! Heather MacNeil Capital Construction"

"Hello (removed member name), We do apologize that you feel you did not receive top-shelf service. This is an explanation and not an excuse, but the sales rep that you had met has abruptly left the company due to family issues. Due to this, there were many customers that were left in a lurch due to the unexpected departure. We tried our best to ensure all of those customers still received top-level service with all timelines met, but apparently and unfortunately, we were not able to do so with your project. And for that, we’re deeply sorry. Our staffing issues should not have affected our ability to meet and exceed any expectations you held, as we pride ourselves on stellar customer service and prompt responses. We hope that you could find a chance in which we can make it up to you, and prove that our company is the best company for your project. We look forward to an opportunity to work with you again soon. Thank you! Heather MacNeil Capital Construction"

After setting up an appointment, receiving an over the top glossy brochure in the mail and having two people come out to take a look at our job, we heard nothing back from Capital Construction. I phoned twice to get the quote and was told by Karla that it was on the way. They never sent the quote. Obviously our job was too small for them and they couldn't be bothered. Very unprofessional.
Response from Capital Construction Contracting Inc
"Hello[Member's name removed], Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for the trouble you’ve encountered with your quote. Here at Capital Construction, we strive to ensure all clients are treated with the utmost respect and receive our top attention. Although this is not an excuse, the estimator assigned to you had to go out-of-town and encountered computer issues, which caused him to fall behind on work and communication. Unfortunately, you were caught up in that and never received your proposal. It was an oversight on our end, and we deeply regret it. We will be happy to take another look at the work and provide you with an updated proposal right away. At Capital Construction, we value every customer and every job. No job is too small or too large for our undivided attention. We would love an opportunity to make amends and show you personally that we can meet and exceed all your construction related needs and expectations. We do look forward to hearing from you and hope you give us the opportunity to make this experience a positive one. Thank-you Karla Vasquez Sales Associate"
