SimpliSafe Home Security

Nothing major, but just a little trouble. I have had excellent response from their technical support on two occasions when I called to ask questions. Overall I am very satisfied with SimpliSafe.

I did have one problem and they immediately helped me through the issue. They even contacted me when we failed to use the system for a couple of days to be sure things were fine. A great option for home security!

So far I have not had to use the system where someone tried to get into the house but as far as the system itself I have had issues with some of the sensors not sticking to surfaces.

We received the system promptly. It was very easy to install. There are no contracts for service. We plan to sign up for the service and will update our review at that time.

It turned out well. I had to pay extra for the add ons. It is very easy to set-up. The only thing that I was confused on, was when the service got activated. It just took time to have it in test mode and then it was done. Generally, it was a positive experience. I will continue to use them.

very easy to install. Works flawlessly. Added a number of new window units and the system accepted everything with no problem. This system is a very effective way to provide security at a very low price.

We have been using the system for about 3 weeks and really like it. Love the feature of being able to set it or turn it off via my iPhone. Very easy to install

Installation was easy, it literally took less than an hour. The only downside is that the cellular carrier Simplisafe uses does not work on my property. The cellular was a major selling point for me as it is the only way to remotely access your alarm through your smartphone app at this time. So, there is no way to access my system through online or via app but the system itself serves the purpose and my monitoring is only $14.99/month with no contract. Their customer service was also excellent when working with them on the alternatives to using the cellular. They over-nighted an adapter for free to get the system up and operational.

It's working out fine. I had some problem with it to begin with. When they sent the pieces to me they had already batteries on them. I had to two keypad batteries and one keypad died within a few days when I set it up. The other keypad batteries died the following week but they did send me some new batteries to replace batteries. Anyhow, I had no problem with it.

It was great! So easy and all the "bells and whistles" of more expensive systems for much less cost. And no long term contracts. You can elect to have monitoring or not. And there are a variety of door sensors, motion detectors, etc you can use. This is the way to go for a security system!

I decided to go with Simplisafe after reading a number of positive reviews online. I talked with 3 other alarm companies, and each of them wanted a 3-year contract and at least $30/month for monitoring (one was $70/month!!), in addition to the installation cost. Simplisafe has no contract, and the basic monitoring is $15/month. I received my install kit after about a week. Physical installation was simple enough: you plug in the base station, pull a battery tab on the keypads and sensors, pull off the backing on the double sided tape, and stick them on the wall. Screws were provided, but I only ended up using them on one of the sensors. The software was also fairly simple. They include a USB key that you stick in your computer which has the setup program. All of the sensors I received were pre-configured to work, but you can change things like the time to exit and add more sensors from the setup program if you want. In total it took me about an hour and a half to get everything set up the way I wanted it. Fortunately I haven't had any break-ins or fires yet so I can't comment on the monitoring, but so far I am very pleased with Simplisafe and I would gladly recommend them to my friends and family.

It went really well. They answered all of my questions and hand out the components I needed. They explained the process of installation. The shipping was on time.

It worked out very, very well. They sent the security system by mail. You install yourself. If you have any questions, you can feel free to call their toll-free telephone number. I think I actually got several emails with prompts as far as what to do and it seemed like it was taking too long for me to set it up and they were checking in to make sure that everything got set up correctly. I think it arrived in less than two weeks. I had a lot of communication by the next day in terms of what to pick and what to do, etc. There were other components that we still wanted to add on. We were able to do that by looking at the website. It was nice to be able to use the Angie's List big deal and customize whatever other things we wanted. I actually like that better than their lowest deal because we weren't able to customize it. We definitely appreciated the Angie's List big deal. It was pretty easy to set up. We actually finally set everything up the other day and someone happened to open the door by accident. They called right away whether it was setting up, inquiring, or the actual service. Actually, the offered a free month of service monitoring. We've had lots of responsiveness so far. I have a remote to start the system and turn it off and the cap wouldn't stay on. The last time I spoke with them, I just told them that my cap wouldn't stay on. They shipped a new cap out to me very quickly for no cost.

They shipped it to us in about 3 days. There was a step by step booklet to help set up the system. We did have a false alarm, and the police came, so it is working.

Someone from SimpliSafe contacted me right away to help set up an online account. Online communication went very well. The system was shipped the next day. Set up was very easy, as was signing up for monitoring. The only issue I have experienced was the signal strength. The sensors are wireless and naturally they are designed to conserve the batteries they run on. However I had to move the base unit several times before I found a location from which it would reliably communicate with all the components. My plan was to add more sensors, including smoke & fire alarm on the second floor, but now I suspect that they would not be able to "talk" to the base.

My experience with SimpliSafe Home Security has been good so far. They mail the security system to you and you install it. Everything is going good and their customer service is good. They didn't do anything special. They just took care of their business. Their price was the least expensive of the others I checked.

The system was mailed to us. I thought it would take only a few days to receive the unit, but it did take about 10 days which was a little longer than expected. The instructions that came with it were great and we got it installed very easy. They do provide customer service assistance, but we did not need to call them for assistance. The price for the system is very fair and comparable to others. We are planning on purchasing a unit for another home of ours.

A very positive experience. The security system was very easy to install, just as advertised. Very responsive to questions. We also received one piece of the system that wasn't working properly. The replacement was shipped and received in just a few days.

The system was easy to install, works as advertised and we are now looking at additional features that we can add through Simplisafe.

After years of rural living my home was burgarized in 10/2013 while I was at work. Needless to say a security system became a high priority. In this day & age most everything is cellular based and the old wired burglar alarms are a thing of the past. After a lot of research I determined that Simplisafe offered the best system and monitoring at the most reasonable price.I 'm not very good at technical things or putting things together, but I am proficient in reading and following instructions. If you can do the same then you can easily install your wireless security system. I can't believe there are companies out there charging the customer an installation fee for something that is installed by the customer. How crazy is that? I ordered the 8 piece system ($260) and added extra items (entry sensors, keychain remote & panic button) so I would have exactly what I wanted for my home. I received the items very quickly and installed everything on the evening I received the package. I read the instructions, plugged in the keychain remote into my USB on the laptop and guided my husband in the installation process. It took about an hour to get everything done from start to finish (we are a little slower I guess). Like I said, it is super simple and all internet based. You register, set your passwords, safe words, etc. online. Once you are done installating everything Simplisafe gives you 3 days to practice using your system. I was very grateful for this because my husband managed to set off the alarm twice in one day resulting in an immediate call from the Simplisafe representative. After 3 days your system becomes live and if an alarm is triggered will result in a call to your local police station if you don't reset your keypad or tell the Simplisafe agent that you triggered the alarm in error. I've added a few more things to my system and Simplisafe has always shipped them promptly to my house. As always the installation process was a breeze. I went ahead and ordered their smoke alarm since I live in a rural area. If the smoke alarm is triggered, Simplisafe will contact the fire dept for us. So far I've only encounted one problem with the system & it was a big one. Occasionally my system would lose the cellular signal so our home would be completely unprotected. I contacted Simplisafe and they determined that I needed a different wireless module. They sent me a replacement wireless module at no cost and I installed it into the base unit. All I had to do was return the existing module in a pre-paid envelope supplied by Simplisafe. I've had absolutely no problems with the system since then. You can buy their security system and you are not required to sign up for a monitoring plan, but what good is that? Their top of the line monitoring only runs $24.99 month and includes homeowner, police & fire dept notifications, and alerts via email & text (homeowner chooses types of notifications). I have nothing but positive things to say about Simplisafe.

There was no information on how to activate the two free months that came with the manual and I didn't even use it (in fact, when I set it up, I'm embarassed to say I FORGOT that I even was supposed to get 2 months; but I am disappointed that nobody had it on file or that the mailed package didn't have any information). Price/Quality- This really is an excellent service. Extremely low cost compared to comparable designs and it works out really well. I plan to buy some of the add-ons (more monitors; smoke & CO detectors; etc.) and integrate them into my home protection. Also, the online interface has exactly the same features as other "intelligent home" security systems that cost up to 3-4x the amount. The absence of contract is also great. I believe I would be able to deactivate the system for a few months if that felt necessary. Responsiveness- At first, it was difficult to set up the alarm with the company, who was hard to reach. It was difficult to diagnose the problem with my central base unit until I finally found the solution online.

Delivered Product as requested. Set up was super easy. Customer service for the few questions I had was exceptional. Very pleased.

I had a minor problem with the wireless adapter not working. After working with tech support, they diagnosed the problem and sent me a new component. A few days later I was up and running. Just as expected.

The service worked out fine, I haven't installed it though. They shipped the home alarm system.

Simple and Easy. I have not actually made the move to my new house yet. so my brother did the install for me, with nothing more then the instructions that were sent to me. He said it was a fast and easy install. There were 2 door contacts to install (front and back door) and 1 motion detector. the next day, my parents (in their late 70's) went over to my new house to help me activate and test the account. I had set up my online account with SimpliSafe as soon as I ordered the package - very nice that you can do that in advance! While on the phone with my parents, I logged into the web site and "activated" the account. Done. The site told me I needed to send a test signal, but had to wait for at least 30 minutes. So we chatted for a few minutes, and I had them walk through the house and confirm a few details. In about 15 minutes (or even less) the system was ready for testing. they put the system in "away" mode - I got both the text and email alerts of the system status they opened the front door - in 30 seconds the alarm in the house sounded, I got text and email alerts. They used the "fob" to turn off the alarm - alarm stopped - text and emails received indicating alarm was canceled. Once again into "away" mode - walked through the house to test motion detector - 60 sec alarm sounded - email and text received used the fob to turn off the alarm, again text and email received that alarm canceled. Testing Done! what could be simpler?! the web site event log shows all the status and alarm changes too. I Paid the small additional amount to the monthly service fee wihich allows me to monitor and control the system remotely. so far I think that is a wise choice, I can down grade at any time if I find it is not necessary. I was able to setup a separate code for my parents to use as well. So far I am very happy and pleased with both the company, equipment and service. I am hoping I will never need to test their response to a real emergency :)
