It was easy and simple to install.

SimpliSafe has been much more affordable than the other alarm companies I researched. There is no need for a contract and for only $15 a month I have peace of mind knowing my home is protected. We had a contractor come to our vacant house when we were away and gave him our lockbox code to get in with the key, having forgotten that our alarm was set. Immediately when the alarm went off, we got a call from Simplisafe alerting us to the fact that the alarm had gone off. It was great to see that the system worked as well as expected and we could count on it to alert us to any potential intruders.

The overall experience with SimpliSafe has been outstanding. The two big features that enticed us to SimpliSafe were (1) no contract, and (2) all wireless system. The lack of a contract requirement speaks for itself and is huge - I don't know why anyone would sign up with a company that requires a contractual commitment in this day and age. We considered one other do-it-yourself system (FrontPoint) but they had a contractual requirement and a much higher monthly fee. They had a deep discount on the initial system ($99 I believe) but the difference in monthly fee ($42 for FrontPoint vs. $25 for SimpliSafe including all the extra features we wanted) would have more than eaten up the savings. Regarding the wireless feature, since all equipment communicates wirelessly it really is very easy to install (took me an hour or two but I'm a detail guy who overthinks everything), and more importantly the communication with the monitoring company is over cellular network so intruders don't cut off your system by cutting your phone lines. Also all equipment is either battery operated or backed up, so you're still protected when the power goes out. We did look at a wired system as well ($1,500 installation charge and $40/month monitoring, contract required) but it wasn't even an option after I looked into FrontPoint and SimplySafe. And as I noted above, SimpliSafe is clearly a better deal in my opinion. Now that we have the system I can report that I am pleased both with the ease of installation and with the operation of the system and monitoring itself. Make no mistake, this is a real / robust security system. We have entry monitors on doors, a glass break monitor, and motion sensors in major traffic areas. We also added a smoke detector to the system so that if a fire occurs when we're not home the monitoring company will be alerted. Lastly I'll throw some kudos at SimpliSafe for their service. We've had a few challenges - first the base unit wasn't communicating well with the monitoring company. I called SimpliSafe and they confirmed on the phone that the problem was with T-Mobile coverage in my area. They immediately shipped a Verizon module to me (arrived in about two days) and it was actually very easy to switch out. I also had a little trouble with getting a certificate to provide to my insurer confirming that we had fire monitoring, but by emailing their customer service I received a very quick response that solved the problem and also confirmed that my smoke detector was being monitored. The web and smartphone interface are both very useful and intuitive. I would highly recommend paying the extra $10 a month to get the smartphone app functionality - the fee is still cheaper than the competition by a good margin, and the smartphone app is really handy. So far a great experience!

Fast, easy, affordable and no long term contract. The system works great!

We received our Simplisafe Security System on the morning of day two from the date of ordering. We found the system to be beyond our expectations. It is tasteful, and extremely effective. The installation was a "snap," and we were up and running within ten minutes. You can't beat that with a stick. We received window stickers and a yard sign which is a deterrent in itself. I had a question about the system but one quick call and suburb customer service resolved this. We love this system and are going to purchase some "add-ons" for it. Thank-you Angie!!!!!!

Easy to do. Could now install in less than 30 minutes. Add-ons for temperature, water, fire so it is full service. Operates completely wirelessly and is independent of any on-site internet/phone. Various levels of service and can turn service off/on as needed.

The install went pretty smoothly - to a point. The total time for installation was about 2 hours (part of that was figuring out the best place to put the base station so that all of the wireless sensors worked properly). But unfortunately, the T-Mobile wireless connection to the dispatch center did not work anywhere in my house. I contacted SimpliSafe and they told me that they had a Verizon wireless module that would fix the problem. They were supposed to ship me one right away, but, apparently, they did not have enough modules to meet the demand and it took almost a month to get the Verizon module. I installed the Verizon module and tested the system. It seemed to work at first. But a few weeks later I started getting sporadic messages that the system had lost contact with the dispatch center. I tried moving the base station to other parts of the house, but the connection was not reliable. About 6 weeks ago, I was away for vacation and the system stopped responding completely. It failed to report when my pet sitter disarmed and armed the alarm for several days while I was away. When I returned and contacted SimpliSafe, they told me that the wireless module needed to be reset by removing the battery from the base station. This is not something that could be done remotely! So my system was out of commission for practically my entire vacation! Finally, SimpliSafe agreed to send me a backup broadband adapter that I could connect to my Internet router that would be used when the wireless connection was down. After installing the backup broadband adapter, and testing the system, it showed the same lack of reliability as with the wireless connection alone. This is NOT a security system that I can rely on.

We purchased this system for a home. It was easy to install. The directions are clear and easy to understand. The monthly fee is very reasonable. While you can do the set up on a smartphone, it would be much easier to have a computer available especially if you have a lot of extra sensors to add to the system. Over all, it is as advertised. We purchased the 15 piece component kit but bought additional sensors and keypad which made it a little more expensive.

The system has been operating flawlessly for nearly a year. Call center responds immediately on an activation - and call police when no response from home owner. Been there, done that and faced the police... The motion sensors and door\window alarms are sensitive and panic alarm is immediate. I bought a refurbished system. No issues and got extra key fob, panic alarm and door/window sensors for less than the basic new system. There was no indication, scratches, wear, etc. that the refurb system was ever used. All new batteries, wall mounts, etc. Definitely worth going the refurb route. I also bought and highly recommend external audible siren. Also highly recommend calling support and getting procedure to have the siren beep when alarm activated. We have a hearing impaired person in the house that cannot hear the key pad beeps. Having the siren beep saved a false alarm when a door was opened before the alarm was deactivated. Also bought extra keypad. Have every intention of CO and fire sensors - just haven't taken the 2 minutes it would take to order. I didn't give a 5 overall because the system doesn't have video. Yet. The system has 2 built-in zones, I would like to have at least one more zone and a back lit keypad would be nice. The mobile tools and alerts are worth the extra monthly charge. We live in a fairly safe neighborhood and my spouse was skeptical about spending the money but quickly became comfortable having the extra layer of security. Definitely worth the investment and is just as good, in my opinion, as the big "A" company.

Set up was very easy. The monitoring plan with the mobile and web based monitoring and customization of your system is $25 monthly. They are very responsive to any questions I have had so far.

The good part - Price and device selections. The bad part - customer service hours are not friendly to office going folks. Activation request got stuck and was resolved only after call to customer service. Seems company does not have permit info for our county.

Big box arrived at the house and I unpacked all sensors, keypad, alarm horn and base station. It took me about three hours total to place the sensors on each window and door, place the flood sensor by the dishwasher and washing machine. After getting base station paired to my wireless network I called Simplisafe and activated my account and off site monitoring. All went off without incident and was painless and easy. I use their app to check the internal temp of my Naples home from anywhere (I'm writing this from Cape Cod) One thing I'd do differently is make a better list up front of what I really needed. I kept having to call back and buy more sensors and each time paid more shipping costing me more money. I have lots of doors and windows and did a lousy job of planning up front. Other than that I love the alarm, the company and the experience, and no I don't work for them I'm just a very happy satisfied customer. Simplisafe's base station uses a cellphone inside to dial the alarm company if the power is out at your house. They sent me a base station with T Mobile as the cell provider built in(No you don't pay for this is works off the monitoring fee only if you choose to activate it) What they didn't tell me was I could've used Verizon or AT&T base stations and probably would've used Verizon had I known of the option. Truth is the TMobile one works so I never changed it out, but if you know that one cell company or another doesn't work at your house save yourself the hassle of trying to return the one they sent you and get the one you want from the start. To do this yo'd probably need to order via telephone as online you get what they send you! I highly recommend Simplisafe!

When I purchased the "service", I did not understand that I would have to install it. I did install it against my better desires and the company tested it and stated that it is properly functioning. They began the monitoring service and I hope that they are correct; if not, after a break in is too late to find out that it is not functioning properly. I was disappointed to learn, after the purchase, that, in addition to having to install it myself, it did not come with a siren. I had to purchase one as an addition as I would not be comfortable that I was secure without one. It was my mistake that I did not read close enough to know in advance that I would have to install the system but, re-reading the description of the product still does not suggests that it did not include a siren in the original purchase price. I would not take this on if I had to do it over and I can not comment on the quality of the hardware until I have had it for a while nor the company's responsiveness until I have had a "live fire" incident occur, God forbid.

I purchased SimpliSafe Home Security System for under $200 & it works great! I was searching for a security system but didn't want to be tied into a 3 year contract offered by other businesses who want to pry into your personals. I also am quite amazed how simple it was to install. I can control the system at anytime I choose & can cancel at anytime with no obligations. What's even better is if I were to relocate, the system can move with me. No calling the company with complications and no hassles of bulky equipment or leaving any part of the system behind that can become a problem for someone else such as unwanted satellite dishes or previous home security systems that someone has to come to your home to uninstall that is attached with a price. The service went well. I just purchased the product. The product came quickly. They have been very professional over the phone. I was able to install the system on my own. I am pleased with the system and have added additional components. The pricing for those were reasonable. I have also signed up for their monthly monitoring service.

It went well! I self installed the system. There was no need to contact them. It was very easy to set up. I have been usisng the security system for about 9 months.

Simplisafe is easy to set up and use, and I'm thrilled with their service. I ordered extra sensors through their website and had one question for their technical support and they were super helpful.

Works well since I installed it after viewing Simplisafe online video . Easy to install and manage. I expect to order additional components based on the package I received under the Angie's List Deal. Excellent system, no contract, $14.99/month as advertised. Allows option to have homeowner to be called initially before police are called. Not a major issue but there is a $17 annual fee to register the system with the city. I would also prefer that the keypads were easier to see at night....it is somewhat difficult to see the keys to enter the security code in the dark although the key chain remote helps to solve this issue with a single "off button". Overall I am very happy with this system and would recommend it.

Super easy to install i was shocked on the ease. I would Recommend this to everyone worked right out of the box . I signed up for the $ 15.00 per month package. Added extra motion sensor exterior siren.

Took advantage of a big deal offer on a wireless home security system from SimpliSafe. Everything was pretty easy - they ship the items to you and you self install. There is really nothing to it beyond following the instructions and selecting a monitoring plan (if you choose to use one). The self-install was fairly easy though we ran into an issue where the keypads were pre-programmed to monitor a door that did not exist. Fixing that issue was as simple as removing a component from the list but it was a bit of an annoyance at first. The only other major concern was that SimpliSafe professed to have no record of whether a permit was needed in my area... a simple search on Google indicated that yes, a permit was required... so that was a small but unexpected fee. Their wireless system is fairly nice and easy-to-use; though the website definitely encourages you to upgrade to a more robust monitoring plan to gain access to features like smartphone app access and multiple access codes.

Great home monitoring system. All wireless and you simply stick the attachments to the wall. Installed three doors and 5 windows in minutes. Later ordered more attachments to the system and such as fire and water (by the water heater) alarms. You own your own hardware and pay monthly for monitoring.. burglary and fire. App on my phone enables me to set alarms etc when not home. Automated SMS alerts are sent when alarm is turned on and off and if anything happens. Fantastic system that provides great piece of mind both when home and away. Contacted customer service a couple of times and they are always prompt and professional. Have recommended Simplisafe to friends and family. 5 stars!
