It is a self install, but all the equipment came and seems to be working well.

Self Installed SimpliSafe special value package from Angie's List Deal. Worth what we paid for it. Installation went very smooth. Service has been great! We enjoy not being locked into a contract. We've added additional door and motion sensors, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. We are very pleased with the system! The monitoring service is very quick to call after an alarm activation. We've had one false alarm. We have been told that it was caused by the neighboors "dog" looking into the window, This happened after we closed on the home and before we moved in. So I have to say the motion sensors work as expected. Within a minute of alarm activation we received a phone call from the monitoring service. Since we were out of the area the police were sent to the home. We were very pleased with the response of the monitoring service. We have set the alarm off accidentally once or twice. The home phone and our cell phones ring before we are able to turn off the alarm. We are very pleased with the service!

If you're looking for an inexpensive alarm option, I think this is a good one. The system is a bit glitchy though. I've only had the system for a few months, but I've already received at least 4 "keypad is out of range from base station" messages even though the keypad and base station are only 20 feet apart, with the usual interior drywall walls between them. Today, I had what appears to be a false alarm triggered by a motion detector. I bought a system with an extra siren, but I'm not sure of the best way to test whether the siren actually works (the sensors can be tested in "test" mode, but I'm not sure about the siren). If I can get these issues figured out, I will consider this to be a very good purchase. The service has been good. When I have a question, I've always received a response within a day, and the responses have been helpful. The wait time if you call varies a good bit. UPDATE (09/08/2015) After months of "keypad is out of range" messages - one of which resulted in a false alarm- and placing the tower in numerous locations, I may have (with Simplisafe's assistance) figured out the problem. My keypad was somewhat near electrical lines running through the wall. It's too early to know for sure, but after I moved the keypad (and repaired and repainted the wall from where the command strips damaged it), the "keypad is out of range" messages seem to have stopped. It appears that virtually anything in a house (walls, floors, ceilings, electrical lines, etc.) can interfere with the signal, so you might have to try a few different setups before you find one that works, but at the moment, mine seems to be working well.

The kit arrived in time for our home closing, but upon installing it, we had to order a new SIM card, as the system wasn't reading our wireless network. We were then able to easily install the system, but after only a few days, the smoke detector battery went bad and the detector started chirping. We changed the battery, with the same outcome, so contacted SimpliSafe and they sent us a new smoke detector (which took approx 2 weeks). The window, door, and impact detectors seem to work just fine. Our only suggestion is to create a backlit entry panel, as its hard to see in the dark. We will also add cameras, as SimpliSafe makes them available. For the money, this is a good system and, because it's cellular, it's more reliable than an internet-based or hardwired system.

great- with one hitch that the company made me aware of- the local police would not respond to the alarm service-any alarm needed to be confirmed by a third party- I did not purchase the monthly monitoring service because of this- no fault of SimpliSafe

The company contacted me quickly the morning after purchase & was very nice but, since I was ordering it for our church, the smoke, Co2 & freeze detectors are only for homes.

Ordered extra sensors at little cost. Monthly rate is affordable.

Everything has been going reasonably well thus far. The system arrived on time, and the staff has been pleasant and helpful. However, I am having problems downloading some of the software.

So far, so good. There wasn't even any customer service interaction. I ended up having to order additional things. It hooked up as it said it was going to and it has performed as it was going to, and the monitoring company hooked up with this one as well. I didn't really shop so much because SimpliSafe was one of the few that we didn't have to get into a contract for monitoring. Our choices were limited. So far I haven't had any experience with alarms so I would say the quality is okay. It allows us to clear alarms and the sensing when things are open and when people are walking. Everything seems to be functioning as claimed. I didn't have to wait for the guy to install stuff. The self installation was quite easy and self explanatory. Other than door configurations where we had to put one of the sensors on a different door, but it wasn't their fault. It was an inset door and this wouldn't function on it. Another benefit is that we can take the product with us if we move. They are on command strips. There are no hard wires.

easy to install and activate The alarm center is quick to respond - and it is very economical! We liked hers so much, we discontinued our current security system provider and purchased one for our home- now we are paying less than 1/2 the monthly fee that we have been paying for 14 years.

The equipment seems to work properly and it was easy to install. My only complaint is the cell phone app is a little bit glitchy and it needs improvement. When I turn the app on and my cell phone signal is not good, it will start to error out and then it won't work and I have to restart my phone and then it starts working again.

It is self-install and very easy. Between the instuctions, the videos online, the website, and a little common sense, we have a properly installed alarm system in our home that we trust and are pleased with so far. Shipping was quick and customer service contact was professional and friendly. If I'm being honest, the equipment provided feels a little cheaply constructed. It's all sturdy enough and works flawlessly, but it just feels a little cheap and looks a bit low end as well. That is not a concern to us, as we were looking for function over aesthetics. Those homeowners looking for a sleek, modern design may wish to take a look at the product before ordering. I will say this, after receiving the product, I did not return it. I am happy with it, but as the company grows, I expect that the quality of their component offerings will get better as well.

That service turned out wonderful. It was a self installation and it was easy to understand. They were easy to work with and we would recommended them to anyone.

This is my second attempt to phone SimpliSafe. I phoned several months ago and thought I would try one more time to actually purchase a system. The result was the same...Did not purchase even though I was phoning today to purchase a system. I like the fact that there is no contract, easy to install and seems to do a great job based on other Angie's List members. PLEASE PROVIDERS....If you are going to offer a "deal" or advertise anywhere for that matter...EDUCATE THE PEOPLE ANSWERING THE PHONE!!! Train your employees to answer questions without hesitation because at this end of the phone that creates doubt! Both times I phoned "I" had to tell the person representing the company what they were offering on Angie's List! This makes no sense to me at all. I asked other questions that the responses were slow with an inflection of doubt in both calls? My questions were not hard I was just trying to educate myself on the different pieces of equipment. I did ask if I could pay extra to have the "glass break" sensor instead of the "freeze" sensor (which would only be $5) since the "glass break" sensor would service me more. I was told no. The package would then cost $294.98 instead of $199 for two sensors with a $5 difference. I understand that they set the package up that way but it's $5 people. The representative told me no but I could get the $350 package? For all the great reviews I have read about the system, getting there for me has not been as great.
