Description of Work: I purchased The Big Deal from Angie's List associate. The Angie's List associate called Simply Safe to arrange for further accessory purchases. Angie's List associate instructed me to call Simply Safe to arrange final purchase at set price. I called Simply Safe, they did not honor the price that Angie's List arranged, and were very rude and unprofessional. Therefore, I requested a refund from Angie's List and did not place the order with Simply Safe for accessories.

Description of Work: This is a good general purpose system. You get what you pay for. |Pros: easy to install and use, works as advertised. |Cons: sirens aren't particularly loud (including the "extra loud" siren) and the motion sensor isn't very effective. |

Description of Work: I like the equipment but the response is not up to what I feel it should be for something as serious as security. I don't know if it is that they don't have enough operators or what but I have two systems and the response is delayed. Also sometimes the system will have a fault error indicating it cannot send a signal to the provider and has to be reset even though the system has not been moved from its location. I hope this does not become a problem in an emergency. I very seldom can get a live agent without having to leave a message for them to call me back. Seems a bit disappointing to have such a neat system, but inferior customer response. I think both should be equally good when safety is the main focus. If Simplisafe can get the response time better they will have an outstanding product. My low rating is based mainly on the response time of their agents.

Description of Work: I purchased the deal on Angie's List for the basic $199 system and then added some extra sensors when I called them. They were helpful on the phone. I paid extra for expedited shipping so that I would have it by Wednesday of the next week (ordered on a Friday). The shipping was delayed due to weather, so I emailed them on Thursday as I had not yet received my system and asked for a refund on the expedited shipping. They returned my email within a couple of hours, apologized for the delay, and gave me a refund. Great customer service! I got the system the following day and spent about an hour installing and testing it. Everything was very straightforward in the directions. This past weekend, my freeze sensor went off during the night and I immediately got a phone call from the monitoring service. For an extra charge on the monitoring service, you can access your system online. When I make changes to it there, within 10 seconds I get a message from the base that the system has made the changes. So the cellular connection is quick and stable. I would recommend this for someone looking for a quality system that isn't too expensive. Sure, you have to pay full price for the components, but there is NO contract and the monitoring is still a lot less than the standard alarm companies.

Description of Work: I ordered a self-installed security system package from Simplisafe. It was VERY easy to install; instructions are very clear and easy to follow. Also, customer service folks have been very helpful and always available to assist and answer questions. Their monthly monitoring fee is far less than any other company that I researched. I would recommend -- and have recommended -- SimpliSafe to many of my friends.
