Description of Work: I did a lot of research on alarm systems prior to buying one. | |Pros: |- Low monthly payment |- No contract (you purchase the equipment) |- Easy install |- Easy to use |- Does everything I want it to do (monitored burglar alarm, fire alarm, panic button) |- The most expensive plan from Simplisafe is $25 and the cheapest plan from ADT was $45. After you factor in a 36-month (!) contract at ADT that's $720 difference over the course of the ADT contract. And the equipment from ADT would have a higher upfront cost, so Simplisafe is really cheaper all around. | |Cons: |- I purchased a lot of equipment so it had a high upfront cost; however, a similar system brand new from ADT would have been more. I had a quote from ADT and told them about my price at Simplisafe and they said they couldn't beat it. |- I gave responsiveness a B because their tech support is only open on business hours on weekdays |- I can't put the base station exactly where I want in the house because the cell service in my house is not very strong. I read in another review that if this is a serious issue they can send a different cell phone chip for your base station so it contacts a different cell carrier, but it has not been a problem since I moved the base station. |- I was concerned about the bulkier sensors--they are actually smaller than they appear on the pictures, but still larger than hard-wired sensors.

Description of Work: Generally, Ok, but was frustrated by the fact that I kept getting false alarms with the motion detector. Stated would be ok with animals less than 50 lbs, but not the case with my cats. Also, on several occasions, was not able to connect wirelessly to command center. What good is an alarm system if it cannot connect to the command center?
