We received the shipment in full. only issue was that the shipment was delayed and remote key was not working on receipt. But when I informed the customer service they immediately replaced the faulty one. they also quickly responded on troubleshooting an error message. the system works fine without an issue.

I ordered the security system after having had a break in at my home.I knew the other security companies had a monthly maintenance fee of 30 dollars and up along with a 3 year contract. SimpliSafe requires no contract, and the monthly fee is only 15 dollars. My son started the service online for me. It seemed easy enough that I could have done it myself. I was happy with the price and feel much more secure in my home.

Tried installing the system yesterday. When I ran into problems, we learned that their phone support is only staffed 8-5, M-F. Disappointed that this wasn't made very clear anywhere. Also, seems a very odd support policy for a product that is meant to be installed by home owners! The problem was that our keypad couldn't find the base station. We eventually found a way around the problem by trial and error. Apparently, if you power up the base before you power up the keypad, the keypad won't find the base. Our solution was to power off the base station and let the built in backup battery discharge. When we powered the base station on again (with the keypad already on) the keypad found the base. This possibility and solution were NOT included in the printed troubleshooting guide that accompanied the system. Net result was that we couldn't get the system installed yesterday because of the time we spent on this problem. Hopefully the remainder of the installation will go more smoothly as will the monitoring but must admit that his experience left us feeling much less favorable towards SimpliSafe than we had been based on other Angie's list reviews. Update after using the system a while.. We returned all the add-on sensors we purchased and will be replacing the SimpliSafe system with some other security system in the near future. Our unhappiness with the system comes from many issues. Each, by itself, is not too bad. But taken together, the result is a system that doesn't live up to our expectations. Given our experience with this system, I am very surprised that it has an A rating on Angie's list but that's a complaint about Angie's list, not about the security system. Here are a few examples of problems we have had and aspects of the system we dislike: * One false alarm to police. Simplisafe called my cell phone but DID NOT leave a message. * They allow AT MOST two phone numbers to be entered for trying to contact you before calling the police. * The time between when the system logs show the alarm was triggered and when they called showed a two-three minute delay * The control panel is very, very difficult to read until you press the <off> button to turn on the backlighting. Thus, there is no way to just glance at the control panel to see if the alarm is on or not. * There is no obvious difference in the control center when the alarm is on. Blue LED in either case. * Root cause of the problem I originally reported was actually caused by SimpliSafe entering one of the sensor IDs into the base station incorrectly. Really! This implies the procedure is not automated at the factory using a bar code scanner or the like. Also implies no testing done of system configuration before shipping. * SimpliSafe's response to my original posting said they were "also open Sundays" and completely ignored the gist of my complaint--that customer service is only available 9 hours a day (on the days they are open). I also used all the help that was available (users manual and web site) and it didn't help me identify the problem. As I said, each problem is fairly minor by itself. But taken all together they made us pretty unhappy customers.

This is an absolutely terrific product. It is wireless, so there is no drilling, and you do not need a landline. This is especially beneficial because there is no need to have someone come into the house and install everything. You install this system yourself with the help of very simple 3M strips that stick to the wall. Need to change the location of the sensor? The 3M strip can be removed from the wall without causing damage. Trust me, if I installed it, it must be easy. The system works just as well as any other alarm system ; if something trips the motion sensor, or if a door is open, the alarm goes off and you get a call from Simplisafe. I did have one small issue with it a couple of weeks after I installed it. I lost the connection to the dispatch, so in effect it was just a local alarm. The problem is that their customer service isn't open at night or on Saturdays, and this happened on a Friday night, so I had to wait a couple of days to get the issue resolved. However, when I did get in touch with them, customer service was great. I was able to actually leave a message so I did not have to stay on hold; they called me back in 10 minutes. I am hoping that as this company grows, they will have have 24 hour customer service. The Angie's list deal was also a big part of my purchase; it saved me a lot of money. I don't think I would have tried Simplisafe without that deal. Simplisafe's standard equipment prices are pretty high. However, I'm thrilled that Angie's List had this deal. I ended up liking this product so much that I ordered a couple of extra sensors just a few days later, and then ordered an extra keypad for our bedroom a month after that. And you know what the best part is about Simplisafe? NO RIDICULOUS AND UNNECESSARY CONTRACT! If I want to cancel tomorrow, I can (not that I will!). On top of that, their monthly prices (and what you get for those prices) beat any of the big alarm companies. I had an alarm company come to my door recently trying to get me to sign up, and their LOWEST price was still higher than Simplisafe's HIGHEST price. Here's the bottom line: Simplisafe gets right what other companies get very, very wrong. There is no drilling, there is no wiring, installation is simple, there is no contract, and the monthly fee cannot be beat. Oh, and by the way, they have an app for my phone that gives me control over my alarm from anywhere. Like I said, the only downside is that their customer service is not 24/7.

We are enjoying the service so far and it's going well. I thought the system was very easy to set up, it's kind of a do-it-yourself kind of thing and I like the monthly, it's much more reasonable than some of the other bigger names security companies. I actually did gave them a call, I have one small issue but their customer service was extremely helpful, they're very nice to me, and they resolved it quickly. He arrived about a week later and I signed up for the service pretty much when I got it and installed it. The Big Deal is all I spent so far other than signing up on the monthly fee, but I'm thinking about adding a few other sensors. I haven't had any quality issues so far and everything seems to be top quality. They were very helpful on the phone when I called them. There's no reason to stop using them so far.

After researching, I went with SimpleSafe. The only issue I had was from the time I placed the order to the time it took to get the system. I placed it via this website and in doing so, it asked for dates for the company to contact me for the setup. I gave the dates of 11,12, and 13 of November and I got an email from them saying they would be contacting me. On the 13th I never was, so I called and after giving them my order number from Angie's List, it took them a bit to locate it from their number that they processed it under. They gave me the info I needed to included the tracking number (nice customer service). In the meantime, I went to the website and ordered extra Entry Sensors which I got before the system even came. The setup was easy, but the sensors I bought did not work (so I thought), so I was going to have to wait to call as their office was closed. I did activate the system online and once I did, I was able to find where to activate the ones I bought in the "alarm settings", this is the place that you input the item and the serial number and then send that information to the Base Station so that it can activate it hence, I didn't have to call. This information would have been great to have known as the book is just a basic setup and does not tell you this. This system so far is nice. Even my pre-teen can manage it. We do not use the keychain remote that came with it as it a bit large and sreams "ALARM REMOTE". I did upgrade to the 24/7 monitoring and then downloaded the apps on our phones so we can mointor and make changes via cells. The light on the keypad could be bit brighter. My advice is once you get your system and activate it either by calling or website, go online and browse the different places on your account as there is alot you can do from there such as setting it up,controlling the volume of the base station, passwords, point of contacts, and how you will receive your notifications. As far as the police/fire stations, I did call for Topeka, KS. and was told that I do not need the alarm permit, but they were glad that that I called as they needed MY information i.e. address, how many live in the home so that they can responded (should they need too) also, they let me know their do's and don'ts and how many trials I get for false alarms for the initial set up to the yearly monitoring. They also let me know the fees for them having to come out should I have used up my "freebies". So do your homework on that end. Overall, easy set up, did not take long at all. It would be nice to see if they have "sales" for other products that they have which would be nice to have, but not a requirement. Just to add an update to your repsonse: I have a copy of the email that I received and it has the dates of scheduling and the following message: "we will be programming and shipping out your order within the next business day. Please contact us at 888-957-4675 if you would like to pay for expedited shipping or PURCHASE ADDITIONAL componets. We would be happy to help you with whatever you need." It did not say "ADD" as you have mentioned in your response below. I will look in each of the small boxes that the sensors came in to see if they had instructions, but I am sure they did not because the boxes were small. These items came separate from my order. If you do not plan on contacting anyone besides an email, I would suggest that you omit the request for the days of scheduling that is requested for "schedule service" . I have noticed that sense I posted this, I am not receiving more "correspondance" Thank you.

SimplySafe is a wireless DIY home security system. The price was right, the products, upon receipt, were of high quality and have performed as advertised. Their technical support (via phone) has been excellent as is their monitoring service. My only issue is that their motion detectors do indeed seem to alarm small pets and I'm still working on placement to avoid false, pet generated, alarms. I believe this will get worked out, but it's an issue to consider. Edit: With a few months of usage under our belts, we're still happy. The only solution to the motion detector problem has been to install them upside down so there is no "downward" detection....and high enough to avoid detection when a cat jumps up on a table or sofa. It's not ideal, but think it is a good workaround. A human would have to be very careful to avoid detection.

I love not having activation and installation fees. No land line is great! No contracts even better. If you have ADT or another large provider reconsider. This one is great at a fraction of the cost!

The alarm system is just what I wanted without all the hassles and contract stuff. System was extremely easy to set up. I had a miscue on the alarm pad and the alarm went off. Got a call 20-30 seconds later asking me for my password. Police would of been sent with the wrong password. Excellent system so far. Had for about 6 weeks.

Product seems as advertised. One sensor did not integrate and I have not yet returned it. System is easy to install and to operate. It is difficult to operate (to see) in low ambient light. I had some trouble getting my unit to talk to Simplisafe, but they were on top of it and instructed me on how to do it. It worked.

Well the system was very easy to install no issues at all. After being installed worked as advertised. About two weeks after installing I accidentally entered the duress code. I was called immediately by the alarm company and the police. The police actually arrived within a few minutes. This alarm system works just as well as one of the more expensive systems but a at quarter of the price. Very satisfied with my purchase.

They sent me the installation kit that included 4 sensors. I ordered 3 extra sensors to protect a total of 7 doors and windows. I easily installed all equipment myself. It couldn't have been easier. I was in contact with the company after that to connect with their system. I can go online any time to see if all sensors are working. I can remotely turn the system on or off away from home. The other night I failed to put in the correct code when I returned home and within a minute the company called to see if I had a break in or other emergency. When I gave the secret code word they wished me a pleasant evening and ended the call. I'm sure if it had been a break in, the police would have been called right away! I believe in this company and trust my home security to them. Also the monthly cost is about half what I was paying for ADT!

My experience with them has been okay so far. I ended up getting some additional components for about $100 for it.
