Forgot the alarm was on one day and found out it really works. Lucky for us the policeman has a sense of humor. We would definitely recommend their products.

The system is a DIY installation. Relatively easy to install. A 100% wireless solution. I know 5 neighbors (out of 8 around) who have SimpliSafe.

I simply followed all the directions - which were very easy to follow - and installed it myself. The other best part of this system is the customer service staff is prompt and quick to get back to you w/ answers to your questions. I emailed on a weekend and got a response on a Sunday. If you call, they are right there to help.

Very easy to set up, and it works very well. They are costing about half of what I spent before for monitoring, while delivering much more sophisticated and interactive service.

The process was very simple and easy as was installation. I didnt want to be locked into a long-term contract so I chose this company. So far I have had no problems.

Simplisafe is a self-installed security system. Instructions and customer service were very helpful in answering questions. We have had no problems with the company whatsoever. They provide a basic set of sensors, and you can purchase additional ones to fit your needs. The system can be taken with you if you move. Others may desire a more sophisticated system, but this fits our needs well. It is $15.00 per month after purchase of equipment

Install was super easy. It seems to work great. We had some issues (false alarms) with the internal room sensors and needed to turn those off. Other than that, the system seems to work great. Luckily we never needed it so far. Very inexpensive compared to solutions by ADT and others. Customer service is great, very responsive.

All in all the service was very good, I had to install the system myself and set it up myself but it was all pretty straight forward based on the instructions. I used them as a service provider for 1 year until I moved. I was happy with their service.

You pick the system and components that you want, and then they ship it to you. It was very easy for us to install the wireless door/window and motion sensors. Although you can just rely on the sound of the very loud alarm to scare off an intruder, we opted for their monitoring service ($14.95/month with the system we have). We've had the alarm accidently get activated several times and they've contacted us by phone immediately to verify if we needed help. When we had a problem with one of our sensors and our keypad their customer service staff were very responsive and they quickly sent us replacement equipment, For the price and the quality of the product/service they provide, we're extremely happy with SimpliSafe Home Security.

The system is very simple to install and setup. The monthly cost is very reasonable - around $25 per month. If you are looking for basic home alarm / monitoring system, this is the one.

Estimate with SimpliSafe Home Security

Mine is the "standard" system (burglar alarm with door/window/motion sensors). You install the system yourself. It is wireless and is simple to install. Cost: $14.99 per month. This is "SimpliSafe 1". My only criticism is that this base system can only accommodate one keypad. This is a real pain-in-the-neck if you have more than one entrance in your home (which most of us do!). It was suggested that I use the keychain remote (which comes with the system) but it is bulky, and the 'panic' button on the remote can easily be activated as you place it in your purse when leaving the house! And it's "silent" so you won't realize you've done it until your cellphone rings and SimpliSafe is calling you for your safe word!! ||You can get 2 keypads (and all sorts of alerts--fire, carbon monoxide, flood, etc) if you upgrade to SimpliSafe 2 which costs $24.99/month - still a good deal.

The "Were services performed by the provider" is somewhat misleading as the system is self installed. Went smoothly as they instruct online. Has operated flawlessly since installed.

It was easy, cost effective and much less expensive than others I checked out. It is connected to the main emergency system for a low monthly fee. I feel much safer in my home and my house is monitored when I'm away. I have the basic system, but elements can be added at a reasonable cost. I like it.

Very easy to customize and install the system. Easy to use and expand if I want at any time. Not expensive to install nor to have monthly monitoring. No contracts. System can be easily moved to another home.

On paper, the SimpliSafe product looks like a no-brainer, a real winner. It's relatively inexpensive, simple, and easy to set up. In practice though, it's not worth the time or effort. With the money back guarantee I figured it'd be worth taking a chance on this product as we were looking for some inexpensive monitoring for our home. The cellular based connectivity is a huge plus and the fact that the sensors are wireless and have battery monitoring is great. I like that SimpliSafe has a plan to expand into other areas like fire protection, water/freeze sensors. My experience with this product was horrific, thankfully the company itself was pleasant to work with and bent over backwards to try to accommodate me. It's possible that SimpliSafe may have made some changes since my use, but my biggest problem is that the base station uses a T-mobile sim card for its data connection, and unfortunately there is a huge hole in T-mobile's coverage area where I live. I couldn't even get the thing activated when it arrived, I had to drive around with the base station in the car to activate the system. No problem SimpliSafe says - we'll send you a broadband adapter to plug into your home router. Although this works, it takes away the 2 biggest advantages of this system. First, the cellular "always connected" capability - now my ability to report an intrusion is dependent on not only the power being on, but the cable service being in operation. Granted power outages and cable outages are not common these days, but a thief could easily cut the coax connection coming into my house from the main pole. Second, with the broadband adapter you lose the ability to interact with the system through the mobile app - this includes things like viewing access logs, remote arm/disarm, and alerts. Right now, SimpliSafe Says, the current generation of base station is only available wit Tmobile sim card, despite having the ability in the 1st generation model to swap out to other providers if necessary. Another gripe with the system was that it's more like a science project than a system you can trust. There are obvious issues with programming that have been overlooked that can lull you into a false sense of security. The most obvious one is that you can arm the system in the absence of the sensors. I noticed this when I was driving around with the base unit trying to activate it. I could arm and disarm - but was expecting to see an error message since the sensors were all back at my house, way out of range of the base station. The obvious flaw here is that even when using it normally, if one of the sensors is malfunctioning for any reason, you could arm the system thinking everything is good, and not have any idea that your sensors are not reporting into the base station. | |I also had some problems with sensor placement. The IR motion sensors are supposed to be "pet immune" however my small 18-lb. dog set off the motion sensor in the living room twice. I had the sensor mounted in a corner along the front side of the house. The dog likes to sit on the back of the couch and look out the window, and I guess it was too close to the sensor. I was advised to flip the sensor upside down to correct this. I never did get a chance to verify that it solved the problem as I sent it back before I had the time. | |Product shortcomings aside, the company was great to work with. Their tech support was responsive to telephone and email inquiries. They swapped base stations once, set me a broadband adapter at no charge, and spent time helping me debug things. In the end I sent the product back and got a full refund. I hope that they will be improving the product itself, and if so I'll take another look at it. Right now I believe this DIY security market is wide open for someone to make a lot of money.

I think for what you pay for SimpliSafe, it's a good deal. The equipment isn't the highest quality (sensors are attached with sticky tape so occasionally they will slip, the key chain remote is inexpensive plastic - the usb top got lost within a couple months and eventually the battery cover went missing to, occasionally the system stops working and you need to do a resync), but again, for what is costs, I think the product is fine.

This is a DIY install and then SimpliSafe provides you with 24 Hour home monitoring. I have been very pleased with my setup and ease of adding additional components.
