Just after that I had friends live in the house while I was away, and they did not hook up with the police dept. I can't of course say that the Simplisafe sign on the door did any good, but there were no attempted entries etc after I signed up, unlike before. When I returned I was missing a pice of the system. One call to Simplisafe and it was sent at no cost. They were also very helpful in helping me reinstall the system. I have relocated to Phoenix in the past year, and have yet to reinstall the system, (nicely portable). Since other neighbors have signs advertising their security systems I think I need to do this right away - I will have to contact Simplisafe to get a couple of new signs plus info on signing up with the local constabulary! I have not take advantage of the system I paid for, but that is no reflection on Simplisafe, who have consistently been helpful.

Simplisafe is an online home security company. You purchase the equipment you desire from their website and it is mailed to you for self installation. Once installed a quick phone call to their monitoring service line and your equipment will be activated and tested.

I'm guessing on the last contact date. I have had very few problems, and those had to do with the placement of the base. Once we established a good place for it to have consistent contact, I have had no problems. This was a security system that I was able to set up myself. The process was very simple and it seems to be working well.

I bought a reconditioned security system from them and installed in on a remote storage building. They provide wireless monitoring for that building. I had some probems in the beginning with my system, but they eventually resolved the issues. It has worked quite well since then.

It literally took me less than a half hour to completely set up the system including the optional 24/7 monitoring. | |The system base station walks you through setting up the system step by step. Everything worked perfectly when I set up my system and looking back, I've never had any problems with the system at all. | |This is a great alarm solution that doesn't gouge you $50 a month FOREVER for the privilege of owning their alarm system. SimpliSafe is totally portable and can easily be taken with you if you move. You don't even have to have monthly monitoring if you don't want any monthly expenses associated with the alarm system. |

The charge is $14.95 per month for basic monitoring of my alarm. My alarm went off and they called to see if I was ok or needed police, ems, fire, etc. They are always prompt, courteous and helpful if I need anything. SimpliSafe is less than half the cost of our last alarm company, but we had to purchase our own alarm system. It paid for itself in less than a year with the money we saved on monitoring.

Simplisafe sells various security sensors along with environmental sensors that are programmed into a cell phone transmitting base unit that Simplisafe monitors. items are ordered online and are shipped to the purchaser. items arrive and purchaser installs them and they self connect to the base unit. Sensors can be named online for quick id and messages are sent if triggered. unit self checks with home monitoring service each week. Triggered sensors also prompt a phone call from live human. This is a good product that does the job and is economical.

The service turned out pretty well for the most part. It was really easy to set up and it shipped on time. The whole system is monitored wirelessly. Every time we have called them they have been responsive. They were good to work with.

The equipment itself is exceptionally well designed. The only reason I gave it B instead of A is threefold 1) The initial installation was not as straightforward as we were led to believe. I'm an engineer by profession and I couldn't be sure what to follow, the web-interface that auto-runs when you insert your (provided) USB key (which is also a keychain remote for the alarm system) or the provided printed manual.They didn't always agree... 2) We bought an additional set of sensors and keypads, and these came pre-paired and it took a while to figure out how to unpair it and re-pair with existing base station. No Manual, Online our USB-manual entry on that 3) Ghost (fake) alarm occurred once (only) with the motion sensor, The monitoring company worked flawlessly, they called us immediately to report it (we were out of the house)and since we were fairly close by we opted to NOT call the cops (an extra charge if its a false alarm - charged by local police in many counties including ours) We also tested a water leak sensor (with a little water...) and got a call within SECONDS !! that confirmed that sensor worked, the wireless base station works and the monitoring company is on the job One less (temporary) caveat - they have no glass break sensor but they are working on it Overall, we are very satisfied (minus aforementioned issues) and the $15/month includes however many sensors you have and as many types as you need. $180/year for monitoring is very affordable compared to most other alarm companies out there Update April 2014: The Ghost (fake) alarm occurred several more times. We finally traced it to a faulty motion sensor. We never bothered to replace the sensor, so I don't know if that would have solved the problem (i.e. I don't know if all motion sensors have this issue or just the one we received). Nevertheless, I am not changing my ratings and the system works great without the motion sensor (which I believe is not needed anyway in our case).

They mailed me the security system and I installed it. The installation was a bit more complicated than it sounded, but not too difficult. I like that there is no long term contract than I am stuck with, like 3 years with ADT and others. So I can cancel anytime if I want. The alarm is very loud and the system very easy to work with. I am extremely happy. The monitoring system is only 14.99 per month, which is so much less than all the other companies. I really have piece of mind now.

I bought my Home Security System from SimpliSafe and I am very happy with the service and their customer service and responsiveness. It is a very simple system and works beautifully. Very easy to install. I did it myself and I was 68 years old at the time. The initial cost is minimal and the monitoring is half the cost of most monitoring systems. I highly recommend them.

Horrible product. Works when it wants. Customer service always recommends the same fixes, which work for a short time. Main unit has been replaced twice and is not functional again. Also they sell your customer info.

I LOVE my SimpliSafe system and recommend it to all my friends. It is a must have for every homeowner in these days and times. It gives me peace of mind while I am at home or away!

The alarm system is easy to install and operate. We have had no false alarms or issues with the system. We have set off the alarm by accident a few times, but were able to disable before an alarm was triggered with the monitoring service. The system has also informed us of power outages in our home several times, which was very useful. The monitoring service is very affordably priced with absolutely no contract required (or strings attached). With the monitoring, we also have online access through the web and apps to control the system remotely from any location. We can also see the status of all of the entry points in our home through the online controls. We receive emails and txt messages informing us of the status of the system when it is armed, disabled, alarm triggered, issues with a sensor, power outages, etc. This is a great feature. | |The $24.99 is the monthly monitoring cost. We spent around $900 on the equipment. We have a lot of entry points and windows in the house and we have motion sensors & smoke detectors in every room. We also have a carbon monoxide detector in the bedroom. The smoke detectors and carbon monoxide are also part of the monitoring service. We have about 40 total sensors. You could probably spend a lot less on equipment if you do not require as many sensors, but $900 is a very reasonable and affordable cost for the equipment we have (which we own with no strings attached). We also have two key chain remotes for turning the alarm on/off and panic. | |One thing that we think could improve the system is to have glass break sensors and remote video monitoring as available sensor options. Also, the app for iOS devices could be updated to add some features like push notifications & individual sensor status plus "modernize" it to iOS 7, but it works good with the basic functionality for checking current system status and enable/disable the alarm. | |Overall, we are very happy with the system and would highly recommend to anyone.

Easy do it yourself installation. Has worked great. No problems. Easy to add on sensors. 24/7 alarm service way cheaper than all others.

The equipment is first rate and arrived promptly. The self install is very easy and straight forward, they offer many of the services the big name providers advertise but require no contract and the system equipment is yours and portable. They offer almost all of the bells & whistles...smoke and fire alarm, CO2, water leak protection. Phone app notifications as well as emergency services calls. I am very pleased with what I have.

I have been using Simplisafe for 2 1/2 years and have never had any issues. Easy to set up and use and an easy recommendation to any neighbor.

I purchased a security system for a couple hundred dollars and installed it myself. It was easy and it works. I pay $15 a month for a the monitoring service which is the cheapest I've seen. That includes an exclusive cellular connection. The few times my alarm has gone off, I have received a call right away. The callers have been professional and courteous. I'm very happy with this company.

Bought system online and installed myself. Paid for monitoring service for six months but no contract was required. Still have system and plan on installing in my new home - may or may not have it monitored.
