I sent Judi and her son a series of pictures of my yard and they were able to use those pictures (plus, they have been on my site a few times before from other work) and they were able to put together a proposal for the clean-up that we needed. We agreed to it and boom! It was scheduled and took place all within a single day. They even agreed to take 5 bags of yard waste that we had accumulated throughout the summer! We came home from work and the side yard was almost unrecognizable. Who would have thought that we had such a beautiful stone wall without it being covered in crazy overgrowth!

It went quite well, despite the record drought we had this summer . We added an irrigation system which was necessary this year. Sadly I called Judi in a crisis because my sewer is blocked. She was able to coordinate with the excavator on short notice which was extremely helpful. The yard was really quite beautiful and will be again soon

It went well - we are very satisfied with the overall experience and the end result. The owner is a very knowledgeable gardener with a lot of experience and thoughtful attention to detail. She uses organic materials and tries to select plants that are appropriate for the region as well as drought/disease resistant. She is also very responsive to feedback and questions. Once the plan was in place the work was completed quickly. The quality of the work done was very high.

Excellent advice with personable service

Moodscapes was very responsive to our preferences for plantings, and created a detailed garden plan including a layout and specifications for particular perennials and shrubs. I followed through with some of the recommendations, but not all.
Executing the entire plan was too time consuming/expensive for me at the time, but that's no reflection on Moodscapes, they were great.

I wasn’t happy with it. She asked me a bunch of questions. I didn’t feel like she really incorporated what I was looking for. It was a very general plan like really nothing I can act on. It felt like it was just a waste of time. She didn’t really give me any ideas. Basically, she was trying to pull the ideas out of me and I was looking at getting her expertise and I wasn’t coming in with the plan but she didn’t really add anything. She just kind of regurgitated with what I said in what I was interested in. I was like that’s not what I’m looking for, I’m looking for new ideas.

Judi was great about responding to my request, visiting our property, offering ideas for plants, and creating a rough garden design.  She is very straightforward and personable and I admire prior work of hers that I've seen in person. I didn't wind up using Moodscapes for this job because our needs changed, but I would definitely recommend them and would consider using them in the future.

Judi and her team are wonderful to work with.  Communication was great, Judi the owner is very responsive, her team is always there when scheduled to be there, have always been pleasant, and worked extremely h****** our pretty involved project.  We are very pleased and would recommend Moodscapes to everyone!

Judi lined up a mason to work on building a new walkway and granite step first. What was great was that Judi came onsite to make sure the mason had all of the designs and materials that we had agreed upon from her design. The masonry took 3 days, in total. They were very professional, neat, and clean. After the masons were done, Judi's crew arrived to handle the delivery of the plants and other materials they needed. Once they got started, it was about 4 days until they had planted everything and arranged a series of stepping stones that Judi had in the design. The change was immediate and profound. Neighbors still stop by to compliment us on how beautiful the yard looks, and they thanked us for doing something with it that was creative and colorful. We couldn't be happier!

Judy was totally hands on and checked back with us regularly. Her subcontractors for the irrigation system and walkway installation were prompt and did a great job. She was lovely to work with and we are already talking about another project for the future.

Even with the late Spring Judi and her Moodscapes team came soon after we called, and did an outstanding job.

The work turned out magnificently. Our front stone entrance adds to & complements the look of our house as do the 2 patios in the back. The landscaping has grown & matured & looks great; so much improved over what had been when we bought the house. We use one patio for our grill & outdoor furniture where we enjoy over 3 seasons as we also have a fire pit. On the other patio, we installed a hot tub which we enjoy year-round except for when we get 9 feet of snow! Judi is on-site & in constant communication which is reassuring & rare. We continue to use Moodscapes & her related companies' services for maintenance work. We unequivocally recommend Moodscapes to those planning both large & small projects.

I don't know how the price would compare to other landscapers, but otherwise I would highly recommend Moodscapes for large landscaping projects. This was a huge project, and after a somewhat slow start in the planning phase, everything proceeded in an orderly way. Judi personally supervised and coordinated the work and was at the house every day to ensure things were moving ahead as planned. The craftmanship of the subcontractors on the deck, wall, steps, walkways and driveway was outstanding. Judi selected plants that were a mix of native species and interesting cultivated varieties, with an eye to blending different leaf colors, staggering bloom times, and finding appropriate plants for the sun/shade conditions. The finished product is lovely all around. The large, beautiful wood deck at the level of the back door makes for a wonderful outdoor living space, with views of the varied plant life, and entertainment provided by birds flitting through the trees. The sunny front yard features colorful foliage, flowers and berries, and is regularly visited by bees and butterflies. Overall, this was an impressive transformation!

Spent time going o err possible options but no work was performed.

Judith arrived with a crew of three guys.  My first priority was rearranging the rose bed.  First the crew uprooted the plants that needed to be moved and set them aside, then Judith and I discussed shaping the smaller bed and what should go where.  We all moved things around and placed them where they would go, then Judith and her crew planted and fertilized them.  Next we worked on the two front door beds.  One shrub was moved, then a few leftover perennials from the rose bed were added as well as a few new plants.  After Judith saw to it that two members of her crew knew just what needed to be done, she and another guy left and the two remaining crew members completed the work.  The final project was filling in ground covers in those beds, using plants from elsewhere on the property.  The guys did as much as they could within the time frame I had purchased through Angie's List.  
All the crew was friendly and helpful and left the property clean and tidy.  One of the crew members was a trainee and all the others, including Judith, were helpful and encouraging to him-- no disparagement of his work.  It was good to see them treating each other with respect.  
I am already making plans with Judith for additional work.

Let me start by saying that I am not one to write reviews but I believe one is needed here.
My wife and I met Judy to go over some changes that we were looking into making on our backyard ( patio, stone retaining wall, lawn, trees, etc). Basically and extensive project.
After speaking to us she mentioned she would check with her stone mason regarding work. She insisted that a plan was required and that she could not give us a rough estimate.
Three weeks later, yes three weeks later, we received a phone call from someone at her company that they would not take our project.
We have spoken with a few landscaping companies and we have received a few quotes and nobody seem to have an issue with the property or what we were requesting and most importantly ALL of them came back with an estimate within the week.
If this is the way this company deals with new customers, they leave a lot to be desired.

This is the only company I would allow to transplant or plant
trees and shrubs in my garden. Judy knows how and watches her crew
closely.
Near the end of the job ,two seedlings were planted and I didn't see where.
They did not mark them and I've not been able to find them. amid the leaves.  I should have
been more attentive and this is a small inexpensive mistake.  But I watch for my new plants
to emerge in the spring and I am making myself crazy looking for those two little
shrubs. Even to find them dead would be a relief.

Judi, the owner and designer, and Jesse, her field supervisor, met with me at my home to discuss a project involving landscaping, hardscaping, and construction. Judi was up-front about the parts of the work that were within her areas of expertise and the parts that would be new for her (e.g., steel deck framing). She sent me a proposal outlining the stages of the design process and the outputs I could expect at each stage. In the end, I decided to break the project in two pieces and to work directly with a general contractor for the first piece, so I did not move forward with Moodscapes.

I really liked her, but it was expensive, so I didn't follow through with it. She did a great drawing.

Moodscapes owner Judy is very knowlegable about plants . I trust only her to move my bigger trees and shrubs safely and plant them properly. 
She is also exceptionally well-educated about organic, low to none chemical interventions for plant problems.  She's not one to pull out a spray container of poison to fix a problem.
I think she is on the expensive side, but worth it if you have valuable plantings.  You should compare prices if all you want is a quick mow and b*******. 
I highly recommend Moodscapes.

Judy and her team are a pleasure to deal with and have done a great job transforming our front, side and back yards into welcoming and attractive spaces.  They have also kept our lawn looking great.  They respond quickly to any requests, execute well, and are priced reasonably.

Judi patiently walked me through each plant in the design and explained the rationale of why that particular plant material made sense in the
location in the design. I was impressed with the attention to detail and thorough explanations. From this point, Judi and I are planning to do
all of the necessary work in stages, so that it fits into my budget on a year-over-year basis.

I THOUGHT I was going to get a written outline for landscape design of my heavily wooded lot.  She wasn't able to give me definite answers about the design, contractors, materials sources, or anything.  She left.  I never heard from her again.
 maybe it was just a personality clash, but it didn't reflect well on her.
