This guy has got to be my best Angie's List score to date.
Have the oven that came with the house, circa 1959. You can only read some of the numbers on the metal model plate. I called a few repair places and they were not interested in repair b/c it's so old. So I had an appliance store come out and measure for a new one. Unfortunately they don't make any new ones to exactly fit the cutout, and the existing power source will not support self-cleaning. Now we are talking carpentry and electrical work and mismatched cabinet wood.
So I looked up what I thought was the model # online and found a few parts that looked like what was in my oven. Then I went back to Angie's List and found AM-PM Appliance. Philip Zahka returned my call within 30 min. This was sometime over the weekend and he said he could come out Monday after I came home from work.
He came as promised, with his wife, because she drives him. They are semi-retired. He had already found the correct oven element and brought it with him. While his wife and I chatted, he meticulously replaced and tested the new element. He also showed me how to correctly put in the oven racks, which I had in backwards.
What a lovely experience. I am so grateful to have my vintage oven back. Philip Zahka is a gem.

AM PM returned my call and asked for more information, but did not follow up on my request for service. It may have been because my old, unusual refrigerator is not salvageable.

Phil came late on a Friday afternoon right after I called. I had a frozen drain line on my tenant's refrigerator, and it took Phil a little over an hour to thaw out the line and install a small wire to keep the drain hole from freezing over again. I was very pleased with how he did the work and explained everything. I would not hesitate to call him again.

I was certain that my 20 year old refrigerator was gasping its last breath and I called AM PM. I believe it is a father/son business. The father came by and worked on my refrigerator and checked it out, replaced what needed to be replaced and said it would go for quite awhile. So far he is right. My neighbor then called him about her much newer, much more horrible refrigerator and, again, he was there and did what was necessary and repaired it.

Phil came on a Sunday morning to figure out the problem with our dishwasher. This was great for us because we couldn't find anyone else available until Monday. He charged $55 for the visit. He told us he would find out how much the part cost to fix the dishwasher, and he said he would call us back on Monday. He called us back on Monday, and said he would charge an additional $130 to fix the dishwasher. We decided to have it fixed based on the cost, delivery, and installation of a new dishwasher. He came back that Tuesday evening to fix it. We appreciated it because my husband and I did not want to take time off of work. He was very neat in his work. Contrary to other reviewers, I found him pleasant and personable. He even tolerated our dog. He spent over 2 1/2 hours in our house for the two visits. In sum, Phil will come off hours to do a good job at a reasonable price.

He called back within 15 minutes as promised on the answering device; came promptly at agreed-upon time. He honestly told me that it would be cheaper to buy a new washer than to pay for the necessary repair. The $49 charged was, I think, the standard diagnostic fee - much less than if he had charged by time spent. Very professional and pleasant. As others have mentioned, he doesn't care to talk much while working, but that is usually a good thing!

I have used this company before. I called them and they were to come by the next day. They had the parts on the truck and had it fixed in less than an hour.

Very good. They gave me a price and they stuck by it, they were prompt and they were quick with their work. They actually diagnosed the issue over the phone and then came out after the fact to fix it. All in all I was very pleased.

He doesn't like small talk. He's busy guy. He's great!

I haven't had a problem since they fixed it. They were excellent! He is smart and very fair. I would recommend them because they are hard working and knowledgeable. They have a good service and their prices are reasonable as well.

They were quick to respond to my phone message and flexible in scheduling. He was a nice gentleman to work with, and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.
