They did a great job. I think that they were careful, which was very important when working with falling trees! They were also efficient and did what they said they were going to do. They cleaned up very well afterwords. I plan to use them again in the future.

Ground a large stump. It ain't rocket science!

It went extraordinarily well. The workers were very professional and friendly, and they worked non-stop from start to finish; I didn't even see them break for lunch! They were very careful not to damage anything; for example, someone parked a car near the tree (despite being warned not to). Two of the workers held up sheets of plastic to guard the car from damage while they ground the stump, and they blew the sawdust off it. You could not tell anything had happened. They used the driveways of two neighbors (who had previously given permission) for their very large vehicles (cherry picker, crane, wood chipper, stump grinder). This reduced our cost since we did not have to hire a police detail. The cleanup afterwards was amazing. If you didn't know a huge tree had been there a few hours before, you would never have known major work had been done. The only minor glitch was that they were an hour late starting because they had gone to the wrong address. This is a common mistake because there is a nearby road with the same name as our street. So, they get a B for punctuality. The next day, they called to thank us for using their service and to make sure everything was satisfactory. Overall, a very good experience. Although expensive, I felt I got my money's worth and more.

Stumpy's responded quickly to my call for an estimate and showed up on time the day the estimate was scheduled. I had several different jobs and they provided a very detailed estimate with the cost of each job. I ultimately decided to do only some of the work and the detail of the estimated allowed me to know exactly how much the job would cost. Although I believe their price may have been higher than others, the detail of the estimate convinced me they were worth the extra cost. Although they showed up a bit late the day the work was scheduled, all work was performed professionally and the area around the work was left clean. I would definitely use them again.

They came promptly, cut down three trees within two hours, cleaned up all the mess, and were very professional. Their prices are very competitive. I would highly recommend them!

Stumpy's was excellent. They were timely with coming out to make the initial estimate and came when they said. Estimate was done in writing on the spot with each piece of work broken down. They were able to do the work when we wanted and showed up on time and were done by lunch time. The two guys working even cut the trees to the size we wanted carrying some of the wood pieces down a steep driveway to a friends trailor. We've had other treework done before by other companies and this was by far the best experience we've had. I highly reccommend them and would use them again.

They clearned brush, grinded stumps and removed a large tree. They cleaned up after they were finished. I would use them again.

The experience was great. They are very efficient. He was on time, he gave me an estimate and when I came home that night the trees were gone and the stumps were ground up.

Martin came out and gave me an estimate. He was very thorough, professional, and accommodating. He asked lots of questions to make sure he understood what I wanted, and he drew a diagram of the whole site so that his work crew would get the right trees and put the wood in the right place. His estimate was $300 less than another estimate I received for the same work. There was a snag in the scheduling where they left me a phone message saying they had scheduled me for a certain day, but when I called the next day to confirm, they had already dropped me from the schedule. The girl at the office openly admitted that the mistake was on her end, because she had failed to get confirmation early enough. We rescheduled and everything went without a hitch. I received a follow up call from Stumpy's after the work was done to check my level of satisfaction.

I called to request an estimate. Jeff came out within 48 hours to see what I needed. He gave a written proposal on the spot. I called a few weeks later to say I'd like to go ahead with the work. Jeff had told me they were scheduling dates 2 - 3 weeks in advance. I received a call back in about a week or so. We settled on a convenient day and time. The crew came as scheduled and did the work very quickly and neatly.

They were very accommodating, as I needed to have this work done before new gutters and ground landscaping were to be done. They came out within the week of scheduling the job with them. The morning of the work they laid plywood sheets on the grass as not to dig it up the their equipment. I reviewed the work order with the crew and had the opportunity to ask them some helpful questions. They worked expeditiously, but with caution. You could tell that they were experienced by the way they took some of the trees down and trimmed others. They were not just "hackers." Along the way they helped me understand how to care for the trees and bushes in my yard that I wanted to keep. Cleanup was great and I now have some extra sun in my yard to help the grass and other trees to grow properly. I would work with them again as well as recommend them to anyone who needs help with their trees and bushes.

Martin came the day after the storm to give an estimate. He came within two hours of calling. Thursday evening we gave him the approval for the job and they were here Saturday morning to complete the work. Five guys worked together and finished the job in 2.5 hours. They were careful to protect the existing landscaping and were knowledgeable.

They were one of two companies that another tree company employee who was cutting down trees for a new home being built in my neighborhood recommended as a company who did good work and was very affordable. They gave the same bid as the other company with both bids lower than 2 other bids we got for other A list companies on Angie's List. Stumpy's already had a couple of referrals on Angie's List while the other company had asked to have their name removed from Angie's List. We also had a good feel about the company on the based on the professionalism and personality of their representative. Overall, we were very pleased with our decision to go with Stumpy's. We were very impressed with the quality of the work that they did, particularly the fact that they left no visible signs of the tree trunks and included the grinding in the cost of the tree cutting. Their estimate was very competitive and fair and affordable. I would highly recommend them to anyone considering tree removal.

Excellent. Professional, efficient. They showed up on time. They didn't fool around, but worked efficiently. They used boards on the front lawn to minimize lawn damage. They cut the firewood to manageable proportions and left the details to me (as agreed).

This was a great experience. Stumpy's was the only service to bid on our job that did not feel that they needed to take down another tree that was very close to the dead tree (and still alive) in order to do the job. They needed to bring their equipment into our neighbors yard to do the job and they were incredibly respectful of the property. The crew showed up on time on a sweltering 90+ degree day, completed the job within 45 minutes and did a thorough clean-up. And they were nice guys to boot. Since, I've also called them to come out and look at a tree that we were worried about and they did so quickly and at no cost.

It took a whole day (in 95 degree heat) and that did an excellent job. Took a crew of 4, a crane, bucket truck, chipper, stump grinder and log truck. Only minor damage to a few spots in the lawn, and they raked up well leaving no debries. Next day when looking at the job, noticed that a few trees they should have trimmed (near lot line) were missed. Also with trees now down noticed some dead branches high in trees at edge of woods showed (and looked bad). Also, one tree that we hadn't planned on taking down now looked bad because it was growing at an angle right across front of house. Called Stumpy's back, and estimator came out and said crew should have seen dead limbs and missed trimming. Said they would come back at no additional charge. They did, no complaints, and took another 3 1/2 hours to do the extra work.

The work was not done well. I had requested the tree trunk to be sawn into 18-22'' lengths for future splitting (by me) for fireplace, and the sawn lengths ranged from 9'' to 15'', averaging 10-12'', which made it difficult to stack them on standard racks. In addition, the workers knocked over two neatly stacked existing woodpiles. I phoned the company looking for help to restack this wood and the service was difficult to reach and and impossible to schedule this follow-up help. I ultimately did it myself alone.

The co. sent 2 young men who were on time and worked quickly but thoroughly. They had me check the work before they left. They had excellent service for what is always an expensive task.
