4 guys arrived in the early morning and finished all described works by 1:00 pm. They removed everything. They did very professional job.

we had a good experience throughout. The office was prompt and responsive with scheduling and returning phone calls. Of the three we got quotes from, they were the only ones to provide a real time quote with a diagram and breakout of each cost option.they were competitive with another company, and I liked their vibe. The crew arrived promptly and we did a walk around to confirm the details. I had to leave so we didn't see the process, but when we got home everything had been cleared--they even took care of a pile of brush we had in the driveway. They kept clear of the buildings, power lines and neighboring trees. And, the ofice called the next day to check on whether we were happy with the work. All in all, very pleased, would certainly bring them back.

Stumpys did an excellent job! They weren't only prompt, they were early! A project we thought would take at least a day, they completed in a matter of a couple of hours. They had all the proper equipment, and plenty of help. They left the front yard, back yard and side yards clean. Besides being so bright without the trees, you couldn't even tell that work was done! We would definitely hire Stumpys again for other projects and would recommend them highly. PS they have a discount for Angie's list clients. Mention it when you call for the estimate.

I was very impressed with the team that came on Monday--they were all very nice guys, professional and thorough. They worked incredibly quickly and didn't go over the estimate, even though I asked them to remove a few branches that weren't originally mentioned when the estimate was being done. They exceeded my expectations. But that isn't really even the half of it...on Friday before the trees were removed, one of the trees fell onto my driveway, blocking us in. This happened at 3:30 on Friday--I called their office not expecting them to be able to help at that hour, but they did. Jeff came out 45 minutes later, and chopped up the tree so we wouldn't be trapped. He knew I had a baby at home and said he couldn't leave us stranded all weekend. Did I mention that there were torrential down pours and lightening while he did this? And that he had his own young family to go home to that Friday afternoon? But he came out of his way to help me. That goes way above and beyond any service I could expect. I will absolutely use Stumpy's again for anything that comes up, and fully recommend them.

Overall experience from the estimate to the finish job, was very satisfactory. They were prompt at all appointments, professional and did an excellent job. Cleanup left no trace of a tree at all.

Our trees are one of the reasons we love to come home after a long day: a mature Japanese maple is the glory of the front yard, and in the backyard we have another Japanese maple, a willow tree, and a magnolia as tall as our two-story roof. After the hurricane and early snow storm last year, several of our trees had significant damage, and we lost one completely. Stumpy's took care of our trees then, trimming broken branches and cleaning the debris. This spring the trees all rebounded, going crazy with new growth. We were happy to see it, but the growth only emphasized the empty space from missing branches. I called Stumpy's again, and they came for an estimate the very next Saturday (to fit my work schedule). Only three days later, we came in the driveway from work, and instead of seeing our usual asymmetrical shaggy trees, the whole yard looked crisp and clean. We couldn't believe it was done so fast, but we were also amazed at the way the trees looked: not only trimmed, but reshaped. The maple in the back had lost two main branches in the top-middle, and had almost looked like it was growing in two opposite directions. Now it looks like a whole, rounded tree again. Even the magnolia - which was hit the worst in the storms, but which I love the most - has a unified shape again. The bottom branches had been growing out over the deck off our kitchen, and now, although a significant amount has been trimmed around the bottom perimeter, the tree still looks full while our deck looks bigger. Nice bonus! And both of our jobs with Stumpy's have been done at reasonable prices. At this point we look forward to doing regular business with them, keeping our trees trimmed and doing regular health checks for all of our larger trees along the street in the front and the border with the woods in the back. From estimating to job completion, I was thoroughly impressed with Stumpy's! The entire crew was punctional, professional and did an impressive job. They removed 4 huge old pines from the middle of my driveway and my side yard. I was impressed by the care they took not to damage any of my mature landscaping or the driveway and yard. The crew worked like a well oiled machine while cutting, chipping, grinding and cleaning-up. They left our driveway and yard just as it was before they arrived...minus 4 huge trees! The sun is shining in on the front of my house now and we're thankful for the job Stumpy's did!

I called to get an estimate and they responded that day, They set up a day and time for the estimate which was within a few days. Jeff came right on time and was very friendly and helpful. He answered all my questions and I forgot to ask him something and called him and he returned my call in a matter of minutes. We were pleased with the estimate and set up a day for the work to be done. Jeff called back the next day with the day and time. The timeframe was a week and a half which worked out well for us. They showed up a little early and began work on time. They were very friendly and professional. They did all the work swiftly and were done with all the work in 4 hours. They did a great job on the clean up. The yard looked better than when they started. We were extremelly pleased and will definitely use them again if we need to. I highly recommend Stumpy's to everyone!

Stumpy's came out really quickly to give me an estimate on cutting some limbs out of several trees. The guy that came out for the estimate was really nice and professional. I hired them that Friday and due to my schedule they were out the next Friday doing the work. They had four guys come out to do the work and again everyone was very professional and nice. The work completed was exactly what I wanted. They did a great job cleaning up after the work was done. Everything looks really GREAT. Thanks Stumpy’s!

Office staff very accomodating in scheduling estimate. Jeff arrived a couple of days later, on time as scheduled and gave me an estimate in an amount I'd expected. Although he said it might be over a week until I could be scheduled, the crew arrived five days later. They were polite, professional and did the job and more. My trees were left looking much better than before, neatly pruned of all dead branches and , of course, with the dangerous hanging branches removed. They disposed of all the waste, raked the yard in the area and cleaned the adjacent street of wood chips and debris.I couldn't be more pleased, and would highly reccomend this company.

We decided to accept another company's proposal based on price.

They were excellent and I highly recommend them to anybody. I give them A's across the board and will use them again in the future.

Work went well, The crew was professional and focused on their work the entire time they were on site. The fact that they had their own crane made everything much easier, especially since two of the trees had significant rot which made cutting over the power lines harder. They were in and out in less than 3 hours, cleaned up after themselves and performed all work as quoted. I've used another provider for this type of work in the past and I'm definitely not going back.

Responded to my initial request within 24 hours. When he came out to give us a quote he was prompt, professional and gave us a good price. Two hours later they were in our yard removing our tree which was hours earlier than expected! Wonderful!!!

Very Positive experience. I called Stumpy's along with the two other vendors. Stumpy's like the the other two vendors returned my call within 2 days and quickly scheduled a date/time to review the work that needed to be done and provided an estimate. The price was the lowest (but very close) of the three vendors. What sold me was something the representative said and asked during the appraisal. He said that they would first put decking down over the lawn, so that their bucket trucks would not damage the lawn. He also asked where our septic tank was buried on the property so that they would be sure to not drive over it and possibly damage the septic system. Maybe this is standard for all tree companies and maybe the other two vendors I met with would would ask about the septic when they arrived, but the fact that the representative mentioned it up front made a difference and sold me on Stumpy's. Two bucket trucks and a dump truck with a wood chipper showed up on time on the scheduled day, a cold rainy day. They met with me briefly to review the written estimate before they set up and began work. They worked through the rain and approximately 5 hours later completed the work. They asked me to review the work and asked if I was satisfied. I was. They asked for payment on the spot. I told them I wanted to pay by credit card. They said that the office would contact me for my credit card information. They left and within 30 minutes the office called to collect payment by phone, less a 5% Angie's List discount. I would have preferred a written bill with 10-30 days to pay, but did not mind given the high quality of work.

These guys rock. Everything was perfect from the estimate visit to the tree removal. The team was professional. on time, and awesome on clean up! 5 stars!!

Good response: received call-back within 2 days, with appointment a week later. Rep was 15 min early, professional, and seemed very knowledgeable, and took the bit of extra time to assess all 3 huge oaks close to house. Hand-written proposal provided at end of appt, very competitive among the mid-priced bids received. Perhaps due to calling the rep on his cell (late and on his way home I assume) to ask a few more questions and verbally accepting to do a portion of the work only, the proposal got misplaced, which I found out when I followed up almost 1.5 months later. They immediately tried to put me on the schedule for the week but DigSafe had to come first, so with the holidays approaching, we scheduled for right after the New Year. I was very concerned about safety and possible damage, as the gas line was almost immediately in front of the tree, and ran out to the street, and so was the sewer line. They did a very impressive job, laid down plywood from the road to the tree (maybe 25-30ft?) for the trucks to drive on. They had 4 men: 1 in a bucket truck, 1 in a huge crane truck, 1 on the ground who would gather the manageable pieces and put in the shredder thing, and 1 in another type of truck that had like a claw thing that would grab the bigger pieces and feed into the shredder thing. After removing the tree, they ground the stump and removed most of the mulch, leaving some as backfill to perhaps an inch below grade. The entire job was completed within 2.5 hrs.

It did take a couple of weeks to get an estimator out, but he was very professional and very accurate in the pricing. They scheduled the work right away, showed up exactly when they said they would and did a great job. My (very grumpy) neighbor had really wanted us to cut down the entire tree on our property line where several branches curve over his drive. He came out to fuss a bit and when he offered to pay right then for trimming the extra large limb over his drive (which was not broken, he just didn't like it), they happily accomodated him! Very pleased with this company; their pricing is better than any other tree service I've worked with. We will definitely call them again.

My experience with them was fine. I was very satisfied with them, and in fact, I recommended them to other people. The price was very reasonable compared to the others. They were pretty professional. I would use them again in the future if necessary.

Stumpy's responded very promptly to the "emergency" nature of the tree possibly damaging our neighbor's property. They actually came the day after the estimator came. $200 was probably a reasonable price, especially considering how promptly they did the work - but I'm cheap, so the price seemed a little high.
