Although, I'm also in the market for a new roof and am collecting estimates, Farina was the first company willing to do the small repair on short notice on a roof in such bad shape. They came out early the day after I called and did the repair, careful not to do further damage to shingles. They were polite and friendly and I'm hoping they'll be able to do the full roof replacement.

These guys were great. Big crew (10 men) worked fast. Job took 1 and 1/2 days. Complicated job completed with care to detail. No dumpster needed, they hauled debris away in a dump truck so driveway remained free. Crew was very nice, polite, hard ( !!!! ) working and careful. I was very impressed at how clean they left the yard, not a trace of stuff left. Magnet used to pick up stray nails.

PROS: RICHARD FARINA WAS THE ONLY ROOFER WHO GAVE US AN ESTIMATE THAT ACTUALLY GOT UP ON THE ROOF TO LOOK AROUND. HE HAS A LARGE CREW THAT GOT THE JOB DONE IN UNDER 3 DAYS. THEY DID AN OKAY JOB OF CLEANING UP. CONS: ON ONE SIDE PORCH THE CREW REMOVED TWO WOODEN TRIM PIECES LEAVING UNSIGHTLY GAPS; ONE DOWNSPOUT ON THE FRONT WAS OFF ANGLE BY ABOUT 10 DEGREES; ONE DOWNSPOUT IN BACK WAS PUT ON BACKWARDS. I WAS TOLD THE SUPERVISOR ON THE CREW WAS NEW. THE OFFICE STAFF IS PLEASANT AND RESPONSIVE; THE COMPANY HAS NOT RESPONDED TO REPEATED REQUESTS TO ADDRESS ISSUES. 2010 UPDATE: STILL FINDING PROBLEMS.

THEY WORKED VERY QUICKLY, DID THE JOB IN 1 DAY AND A COUPLE OF HOURS. ROOF ISN'T VERY BIG, BUT IS STEEPLY PITCHED. THE WORKERS DAMAGED A GARDEN AND THREW AWAY LARGE QUANTITIES OF WOOD CHIPS WHEN THEY USED BIG SHOVELS TO COLLECT THE SHINGLES AND OTHER DEBRIS FROM THE ROOF. THE PRICE WAS ALMOST $2000 LESS THAN OTHER ESTIMATES WHICH WAS WONDERFUL NEWS FOR ME. THIS COMPANY HAD INSTALLED A FLAT RUBBER ROOF ON THE SAME HOUSE ABOUT 14 YEARS AGO, AND THERE HAVE BEEN NO PROBLEMS WITH IT.

RICHARD FARINA WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE. HIS 9-MAN CREW INSTALLED THE NEW ROOF ON OUR 4-BEDROOM HOUSE IN ONE DAY. I THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD PRICE, AND THE WORKED SEEMED HIGH QUALITY. CLEANUP WAS EXTREMELY THOROUGH. GREAT JOB! WHILE FARINA ROOFING IS NEW TO ANGIE'S LIST, I BELIEVE HIS COMPANY HAS BEEN A MEMBER OF THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU FOR 20 YEARS. I HAVE NO RESERVATIONS ABOUT GIVING HIM A STRONG RECOMMENDATION.

RP FARINA'S CREW REPLACED OUR ROOF DURING AN UNEXPECTED SPELL OF WARM WEATHER IN FEBRUARY. THEY WORKED FAST AND WELL, AND THEY CLEANED UP PERFECTLY. THEIR WORK IS GUARANTEED FOR 10 YEARS, WHICH IS A NICE ASSURANCE.
