IVAN SMITH FURNITURE

Dexter is the man to go to at this Ivan Smith location. He is professional, very informed on all products he sells and is not pushy. We have purchased living room furniture from him in the past and just purchased a new mattress and bedding from him at this Pines Road location. Dexter greets all customers with a handshake and a smile and does the same when customers leave. We visited a couple of other mattress specialty stores and all they did was ask us to try each mattress until we felt the most comfortable. Dexter, gave us a pillow cover and a pillow to try each mattress and gave us the full story on each product and recommendations without giving us the hard-sell treatment. He knows his stuff.

They were friendly, down to earth, and would tell you the truth about everything. I would ask a question and sometimes the salesperson I was talking to didn't know exactly what to say, but she would always find someone to get me an answer or look it up on her computer. I don't mind people who don't know something as long as they tell me they don't know it. She was extremely helpful and extremely nice; so was the rest of the staff in the store. I have this theory about attitudes flowing down hill and the manager is the same way. He was very nice, for example there was another customer in which I happened to be very close to that he was showing a piece of furniture to and the door didn't shut right. He looked at him and said that he wasn't going to charge him any extra for the automatic opening door. It was overall a pleasant experience. The price was very comfortable and before I made any purchases I looked at the stuff. They gave me the sheets that had model numbers and the manufacturers name on it, so I was able to compare it. The quality of the service was excellent. This is unrelated to the purchase, but during the discussion there I have a piano I'm donating and I've had difficulty finding someone to move the piano from my house to the facility where I'm donating it. It occurred to me that they charged $89 for delivery services and I was thinking if they were going to bring furniture to our house they could pick up the piano. I would pay them another delivery fee and they would take it to the facility. The salesperson I was talking to thought it was an excellent idea and she gave me the number to their head office. I made three phone calls and written an email and have not gotten any response from the person who would supposedly handle that at their central office. The store is excellent, but I don't know about the central office. The manager was professionally humorous. They don't carry extremely high quality furniture which was what I was looking for.
