This is a dishonest company that does whatever it can to skirt work. I would absolutely never patronize them again.
Description of Work: I bought appliances from Home Depot and they were delivered by Hackbarth. With my purchase, I was guaranteed haul-away of old appliances. The deliverers refused to haul off a refrigerator, saying they had no room on their truck. I scheduled a return visit, and this time, the drivers said the refrigerator was too dirty, and they would not remove it.. I cleaned the appliance and scheduled the company to return AGAIN. They failed to show up as scheduled, and when I called the following week, a manager informed me that the business had transformed into a packing company and that they no longer had trucks or drivers to pay a return visit. They would not honor the agreement they had made.

My experience with Hackbarth has been horrible. Three appliances were scheduled to be delivered to my home. We ordered them well in advance (approx 3 weeks before we needed them delivered). For whatever reason, the Hackbarth delivery receptionist/GE liason had no desire to touch base with GE and LG to actually make sure that my appliances were supposed to arrive to the warehouse so that they could actually be delivered by Hackbarth. I called 3 different times over the 3 weeks (because Home Depot suggested that I call) and I was told each time that my delivery was on schedule and there were no issues. However, at around 6pm the day before my appliances were set to be delivered, I get a call from GE (not even Hackbarth!!) stating that the appliances were never even shipped to the warehouse (so there would be no way that they could be delivered to my home the next day) because no one at Hackbarth notified GE/LG of the appropriate ship date so the merchandise wasn't shipped yet. After arguing and getting bounced around between people at Hackbarth, I tried to determine how/why the massive communication error happened. The woman had the nerve to tell me that "it wasn't her job to figure out if my appliances shipped", even though she states she is the liason between GE/LG and Hackbarth. Needless to say, this has not been the only issue with her (after having replacement appliances delivered because they were ruined on installation), and she is horrible! If you are lucky to reach someone helpful at Hackbarth, the woman who deals with deliveries is always either "away from her desk" or "busy". When I was having delivery issues, I called Hackbarth multiple times a day for multiple days, each day leaving my phone number for the lady. She never once returned my phone calls and I would have to repeatedly call Hackbarth in order to catch her at a "good time" to actually speak with someone. So far, Hackbarth has been to our home 3 times to deliver the same appliances that they keep screwing up. We have reported Hackbarth to Home Depot and they have been very helpful in attempting to help us, but unfortunately, Home Depot really has no control over the delivery service that Hackbarth provides.

II purchased a dishwasher from Home Depot. They were to deliver it and install it on December 6, 2012. I got a phone call on 12/4/12 saying they weren't going to be able to make the appointment and it needed to be moved to December 12, 2012. I told them that I had already paid for the dishwasher and moved appointments around so that I could be here. I asked if the appointments on the 7th were being pushed back and I was told no only the ones on the 6th. I told them their delivery date was not acceptable and I expected my dishwasher here that day. I got a call back telling me it would be delivered as agreed. On December 6th, the company showed up, took out the old dishwasher and partially installed the new one. I say partially because my opinion, the last step of an installation should be to check and be sure that the appliance is working and this was never done. They left and I got a phone call from their supervisor wondering how they had done. I explained that I did have an issue with them removing stuff from my cabinet and not putting it back. Then my son told me to get them to come back. I told the gentleman on the phone that they needed to return as the gasket in the bottom of the dishwasher was sticking out. My son had removed the glass trap at the bottom to see what it was that was sticking out before we called the delivery person back. This trap is designed to catch solids and broken glass before it goes down the drain and is designed to come out and be emptied. The delivery person looked at it and told my son, "I don't know what you have done to it so we have to get someone to come look at it." They called me on the 7th telling me they would be there the following day. I called them back and told them that no one would be here to let them in on Saturday and we needed to reschedule for the following Monday, December 10th. They took a message and told me that the scheduler would call me for the time. I still have not received that phone call. They showed up on the 10th and told me that a new dishwasher had already been ordered. On December 18, 2012, I call them asking about my new dishwasher. They tell me no one has ordered it yet. Then they call me back and tell me that because this was a Black Friday online sale, they are not able to reorder the dishwasher. I was going to have to take my receipt into Home Depot, get my money refunded and purchase a different one and have them come install that one. This is not acceptable. My children have been made to handwash dishes for over two weeks because the delivery man did not check to ensure that the washer worked. Home Depot has made this right but Hackbarth has not even apologized for the shoddy service.
