"The jobs performed for the member totaled $1524. We troubleshot a doorbell system that was not working and found a smashed wire in the attic that was rerouted to correct that problem. We installed eight, customer furnished, under-the-cabinet lights in his kitchen, and installed another customer furnished outdoor ceiling mount light. We also installed a GFCI outlet in the kitchen, which was required by code. All pricing was given up front and accepted by the member. All of the lights were working at the time the job was completed and the member signed off on the job stating so. We were not informed by the member, until this post, that one of his lights were not working. We were, however, called out to check a HWH that was leaking. We gave the member a price to change his HWH to a 50 gallon, gas unit with a 6yr tank and parts warranty, as well as replacing the vent with three double wall vent pipe, 24" above roof using existing roof jack. Neither job was accepted. We do offer Home Safety Plans, which many service companies do, which gives our customers priorty scheduling, discounts, and no emergency fees. This was proposed to the member when presented with the HWH replacement estimate along with the vent pipe replacement in order to save him money. We recommend Home Safety Plans here at Stuart. It saves the life span of your products by having them serviced and checked twice a year, as well as maintaines the factory warrantys. Again, all service companies of our caliber offer them to their customers. Thank you Angie's List for giving us the opportunity to respond."
"Stuart Services does not quote prices over the phone because we like to give fair and accurate pricing based on the job that needs to be done. This is why we like to meet with the homeowner to give our estimates in writing, that way nothing changes. Once the price is accepted, any service charges for a walk-through mini inspection can be put towards the final estimate. We appreciate the reviews given and appreciate the opportunity Angie's List give us to respond to our customers and future customers."
They were quick to respond and very professional. I thought they were very good in what they did. I would probably use them in the future. I thought their price was high. I spent a lot for the service. They were expensive.
"Thank you for the report you filed on February 24, 2011. We at Stuart Services want to know the type of service we perform for our customers, whether it is great or whether there may be areas in which we can improve. After extensive research of this properties history, its owners and our invoices, we uncovered that the last service we performed was on November 5, 2009 and that appointment was scheduled with the previous owner of the property in which that job was completed for $700.The next call we received for this property was on April 26, 2010, at that time we were informed that the property had a new owner and that was the member, therefore we made an appointment and our technician met with you on April 28, 2010 to gave you an estimate for improvements to the upstairs unit. The estimate provided was for $2635.00 at which time it was declined. We have not had any additional service calls to the property since. In your comments the work-completed date was February 16, 2010, which is in fact was 2 months and 10 days prior to the date you called our company for an estimate. We have no records of any other said calls or work performed at this address other than those stated above. Unfortunately you have mistaken our company for someone else in which the complaint is referencing. We sincerely hope your problems were resolved. Best Wishes, Stuart Services"

(1) Typically all repair calls are sold with a $49.95 Trip Charge, which is to schedule the call and send a trained, licensed technician to your home. (2) Once we arrive, we assess the problem or concern and give you a flat-rate price Up Front, before we start any work. If you accept our proposal for service or troubleshooting, we do not charge the $49.95 Trip Charge, you only pay for the services accepted. We do offer FREE ESTIMATES for replacement A/C systems and larger installations jobs such as electrical panels, waterheaters, generators and renovations. At certain times or the year we also waive the TRIP CHARGE, but in peak cooling season we do not.
