Within an hour I was in Lafayette where Dr. Courville and his friendly and competent staff met me at the hospital. They made me feel comfortable and explained that they were going to perform an angiogram by going in through the wrist rather than the groin. Dr. Courville is one of only a select few Cardiologists that perform this procedure through the wrist. I elected not to have an anesthetic and I conversed with Dr. Courville and the surgery staff the entire time while they inserted two medicated stents in my heart. I experienced only mild discomfort while the stents were positioned and the whole procedure only lasted approximately 20 minutes. As soon as I returned home I was able to work in my yard without any discomfort. If I had known it was this easy I would have scheduled this procedure a long time ago!
