At first Bernie denied it was his fault. After MONTHS of haggling between Bernie and the concrete supplier, he agreed to replace our drive completely in early 2015. It is now early 2017 and the work has never been done. Never, in all my years as a homeowner, have I dealt with someone as unprofessional and flat-out deceitful. I wouldn't recommend this outfit to my worst enemy.
Description of Work: Hired BAT (Bernie Fiorelli) in 2013 to replace our driveway. It looked good for about 9 months and then sever fracturing a pitting began to appear.

First off let us start by saying we have had a lot of contractors as homeowners over the last 25 years. The vast majority were very good, a few not as good, still though we have only written positive reviews but the experience with this particular contractor was so brutal we decided to post it.This company also may or may not be in business anymore since the last contact I had with the owner was when after assuring us he would finally finish the project after over a year and a half, he once again quit returning messages, so I had to go down to the small house the owner works out of and knock on his door to confront him, he came outside and told me he couldn't get anyone to work for him, and complained about how hard things were, but he didn't want to work for someone else for $18 an hour, etc, etc. He once again made a commitment to come up and finish the job, then again, never showed, never responded to calls and the job is not complete. We initially hired this contractor to expand our concrete porch and apply a sealer coat to our driveway to make it look more appealing, since we intended to sell our house within the next few years. The owner told us the sealer would improve the appearance of the driveway and give the house more curb appeal, he then worked with my wife to select the appropriate color. Within a few weeks of completion of the work and cashing the $3400 check we paid for the job, the sealer on both the porch and concrete began to come off. The driveway looked worse then ever since as soon as it got wet it turned black where the sealer had flaked off. After going in circles to get him to come out and repair the issue he refused, blaming first the manufacturer of the product (Suncrete),saying it was a bad product , then he turned around and blamed the place he had. bought the product (Conquip), claiming they instructed him to apply the product incorrectly. After not returning our messages for two months we filed a complaint with the BBB,specifying negligence on his performance and poor quality of work. He then finally texted us back to complain how ungrateful we were for filing a complaint against him when he had done this job for us as at a great price and hardly made any money on the project(complete b/s of course). The company responded to the BBB complaint by saying they were aware of the issue and considered it a priority to finish as soon as the weather got better (spring of 2014). The owner sent a couple of guys out in the summer of 2014 to reseal the concrete on the porch but NOT the driveway, the owner said he wasn't going to finish the driveway since it wasn't his fault the sealer came off (once again blaming the product and/or the supplier)After talking to both the supplier and the manufacturer of the product they both confirmed the contractor was negligent by applying the product when the surface of the driveway was still wet after being power washed, and had to be completely dry before applying the product..After going around in circles and it getting late in the year where it was difficult to apply the sealer because of the incoming colder weather I told the contractor I would pay for more sealer to finish the driveway out of my own pocket ($380),if he would apply it and finish this. He agreed we bought the sealer and stored it in the garage where it still sits and once again the contractor is not returning calls. The bottom line is we went with the best price on a quote and didn't do our homework on the company and it turned into a nightmare. Update= imput wrong date of service was actually 10/29/13 not 10/29/14
Description of Work: Increased the size of concrete front porch and applied sealer to driveway
