Lawn Doctor

Turned our lawn around so that it is now beautiful.

Service has been consistent and lawn has steadily improved over the almost two years we have now had the service.  Service is regular and billing is easy (bill is left on the door with indication of what materials were used and any special notes that I might need.  Bill can be paid online of by mailing in check or credit card information.
I have only had one or two questions over the service period and the questions have always been answered as I expected although it does seem to take longer than expected to get responses.  But not too long.

My yard looks great.

The company is super responsive and fairly priced.  I contacted the company via email and they used satellite maps to give me an estimate.  I approved their estimate and they treated the lawn the next day.  So far, the results are good.  I have only had one treatment but all the weeds are dead and the grass is green.  They come out every 4-6 weeks for a total of 6 treatments during the Spring and Summer.

I am always very pleased with them. The company always does a good job. They make every effort to get the job done right.

So far the lawn is looking better but the final result won't be known until sometime in 2013.

Lawn was in poor condition when we moved into the house in April.  Started with Lawn Doctors in May. (See previous review for initial communication issues).  After the four services, all provided as intended and the fall power seeding and aerating service, our lawn is looking great as it gets ready for going dormant over the winter.  (Our neighbor commented on how good our yard looked). Our back yard looks better than the front yard too.
Extra services this fall were identified in advance and I was given the options of what I wanted.  
This company provides an invoice and envelope at each service and asks that a check be mailed in (or provide credit card).  But there is no requirement for credit card on file or prepayment).
This is a small company and they work hard at meeting the needs of their customers.  They are sometimes slow at getting back to email inquiries, but I've always gotten the answers I need before it has cost me anything.
Good company to do business with.  (Cost noted above is regular price for the Fall services I requested. )

Too soon to tell. Weeds are dead, but I won't know until spring how the grass recovers.
I contacted them by phone and John was very responsive. I like them for these 2 reasons:
1)they were responsive
2) They would let me pay for services by check as we go. Other companies wore me down wanting a credit card number. When I provided, I lost leverage for unsatisfactory, unauthorized, or services I could not verify were performed. I was not going down that road again, and John has sent me an invoice without asking for a credit card.

We started using them this Spring. They do a great job. It's a local company owned by two brothers which is nice because you don't have to deal with dozens of different people.

Adam has done a great job with the lawn. He is very personable and answers any and all questions. This summer has been very dry and despite watering and attention to the new grass, some has died out. He has offered to re-seed this fall for 1/2 price since we all knew that this would be the best time to seed.
I highly recommend him and his company and will continue to use them.

Asked for a quote online via  Angie's list.  Received a response the next day indicating that it would be the following week to give me a quote.  (Friday till Tuesday).  Was acceptable timing.  Quote was given by email and seemed to be just a regular email answer.  I asked questions as I think the lawn needs lots of work, but the answers I received were that the regular services would take care of the weeds and make the lawn better. (Probably true)
What I really wanted was a quote that indicated that the current condition of the lawn and some confirmation that the plan laid out would take care of the problem and what timing I should expect in the killing of the weeds and what would happen to the bare spots when the weeds were killed.  I sort of expected that the quote (if they came and looked - I don't know for sure as I was not home) to identify what they saw (only needed a couple of lines) and then how their program would improve my lawn.
  I still  might use them, but their chance to be a single quote and get my business instantly was lost.

I was contacted by Adam by email (the only contact information he has for me) and a copy of the original lawn evaluation was provided.  This was apparently left at my house on the day of the evaluation, but never got to me. (I was not home at the time of the inspection and they did the inspection as I requested when I was not home).  The form I was given by email did a much better job of explaining what was seen and the process they follow in improving my yard.  They are back on the top of my list for taking care of my yard.  Updated score from B to A as response, explaining what happened and providing me what I needed show the concern of Adam in making his customers happy when he knows what is not perfect. 

Adam with the Lawn Doctor returned my call and answered all my questions regarding what services could be performed on my lawn.  He then followed up with an agreed assessment of my lawn.  I did not have to be present for the assessment which was a plus since taking time away from work is sometimes difficult.  A full assessment and proposed lawn maintenance plan was left on my front door step.  After reviewing the plan I contacted Adam and signed up for 6 application treatment plan.  The cost per treatment was approximately $45/each.  So far one treatment has bee applied and I am already seeing the positive results.  So far so good using The Lawn Doctor service.

I paid $430 for the year. They have made my yard much better.

So far so good.  He'll be doing more.  He responded to my calls promptly and, from his answers to my questions, sounded quite knowledgeable.  Though he recommended 6 treatments, he offered other cheaper alternatives and didn't give the usual hard sell that turns me off.

Called and left a message, and Adam called back within a couple hours to schedule an estimate. He arrived on time and left estimate along with Lawn Doctor information pack. Their company offers a 5% discount for paying in full, which is the option we chose. He used a machine to fertilize and treat our lawn and said it would take a couple days for the weeds to die, and to wait to let our dog out til the treatment dried (about an hour). The treatment killed all the dandelions.

I used Adam who owns the Lawn Doctor for my last house and my new house has a lot more yard and I am having to start over again with killing the weeds and crab grass. I had an initial treatment but found that the weeds were not really going anywhere so I called him to get some information on what else we could do. He made a trip out to the house and we did a more aggressive treatment schedule. He is easy to get a hold of and does most of the treatments himself.

I called the Lawn Doctor after reading reviews online. Their franchise appeared to be the one with the most satisfied clients. Adam came out to my house on Fri 4/17 to do a free estimate. My lawn is covered with 8 different kinds of weeds, mold and mushrooms. His first treatment was Tuesday 4/21. He left me a service statement with the bill and told me within 1-2 weeks I should see a difference. I noticed the weeds dying within 5 days. The owner was very friendly and did the work himself with another guy. I am looking forward to my lawn getting into better shape and I am very pleased with my experience so far.

I always receive a detailed report of the application and services rendered after each visit, including the product, rate and square footage covered.
