I took off work so that I could be home at 9:00 AM to meet for the appointment we had set. No call and no show. I should have know from the surly attitude when i first called that this would be the case. I am not sure about their workmanship because never had a chance to hire. As someone that is in service sales and estimating, the least you can ever do is call someone and let them know you can't make it. I totally can't stand people that think their time is more valuable than someone else's

A++ Service. I have a radon mitigation system as and a continuos radon monitor that gives the pci/l numbers. My system alarm went off with a reading of 251.7 and bedrock blasting was going on across the street. I called a bunch of companies to find someone that has a testing device that can test quickly. Everyone but Vance at Radon Management could not get results before 48hours. Vance came out the same day, used advanced equipment and had test tesults in 4 hours. Promt notice of test results. I was also calling the state reps for radon, epa, etc And Vance knew them by name.

First contacted this company in early June to get a quote for radon mitigation. He was a little slow in responding to the request; however, he was prompt after setting up the time and date for quote. After getting a quote we decided to go with this company. I was told he would get back with me to set up a date. After several days, I contacted him again, and was told he forgot about me but at that time an installation date was established. The day prior to the agreed-upon date he did call and stated he needed to reschedule due to getting behind because of all the unexpected rain. We definitely understood this. The new day and time was set. He arrived promptly and completed the job in a timely and professional manner.

Vance Walker is his name. He did a good job. He did a little extra and painted the white pipe for us. He didn't charge us for that. His price was what it should have been. He wasn't ripping us off. We were told by the person that did radon testing for us about how much it should be and he was right on the money there. It was exactly what he said it would be. We got $20 off because we were on Angie's List. We were real happy with him.

I am very pleased with the work Vance performed and recommend him. He came when he said he would, went about his work and got the job done. It looks unobtrusive and, most importantly, it works. Many other providers never returned my phone call for an estimate. Vance came out same day. He is a certified provider (check the state listing, not everyone is), he has been in business a long time, and he does what he says he will do. His price matched the other estimate I got -- they both verified I needed the exact same service. Again, most importantly, the system works and I can now rest easy that my family is breathing safe air.
Description of Work: Vance Walker with Radon Management of Kentucky installed a whole-house radon mitigation system in my home. He returned my call same day, came to my home next business day, inspected the house and provided a very thorough, written estimate of work needed and pricing. We scheduled a date for installation. He came as he said he would, installed the system and ensured it worked. My radon levels dropped immediately from 28 in the basement and 5-11 on the first floor to 1.3 throughout.

Overall I give Radon Management of Kentucky an A+ rating. The company has been in business since 1977, and has an A+ rating with the BBB.
Description of Work: I had a contract on my home that I was trying to sell. The buyer had a home inspection performed, and found that my house had an average radon concentration of 26.2. The EPA recommends any score above 4 should have a radon system installed. As with all my projects I searched Angies list for a vendor. One vendor I called advised, that they were not the least expensive, but they were considered the best. Radon Management of Kentucky had only one review, and it was an F. Whick was based on a noisy fan. I found that two of my friends had used Radon Management and they were very happy with the results, and they acquired 4 bids for their project. Radon Management of KY was the least cost. Since I had friends that had personal experiences with this company, I decided to use them to get rid, or reduce the radon. Also, I forgot to mention. I called Vance on Thursday for a price, he came out and provided a quote. I advised him that we were closing on the house the following Friday. He said he could get started on Wednesday at 8:30am. Vance was on time, completed the job and set up the testing equipment Wednesday afternoon. On Friday the day of the closing, I met him at my home 30 minutes before the closing. He ran the print out, and the read-out showed the level of radon was reduced to 1.7, which is considerably below the level 4, as reacommended by the EPA. Vance was very courtious and professional. He cleaned up his mess, and left my basement broom clean. Since he received an F on Angies List, I did a search on the Better Business Bureau web site. I found that he had the highest rating of A+. He did a great job, and I would recommend his firm to any of my friends and family.

He came out, installed it, it looks fine, but the problem is when the weather is warm the fan that is inside of it, makes an awful noise, when I called him about this he said he would order another fan and replace it, he said it was a manufactures defect, after the 3rd phone call over several weeks he never would return my call, after 6 phone calls I gave up. My grandmother always said you get more flies with sugar than with lemons, so I was very cordial over the phone messages, he should have been professional and returned my phone calls to let me know what was going on. To date over a year later I live with the terrible noise.
Description of Work: I had high levels of Radon in the house I was buying, the home inspector wouldn't allow the house to be sold without this device. I did not choose this company, the sellers chose them and paid for the installation.

This vendor is very hard to get a hold of to converse with and he is a man of few words. My husband met with him initially to discuss install options. He was agreeable to put it in an area on the backside of the home where it wouldn't be so visible. The system does have a visible detection gauge. We were left a manual. The radon levels were tested after his install to assure they were below EPA guidelines. While he did the job according to EPA guidelines, I am not sure I would use him again because we have had to call him back twice for silly things. The first time was to put some insulation or sealant around the hole he had made in our foundation exterior to exhaust the radon. The second time we noticed that the exterior pipe was not secured to the brick wall, and therefore a storm had caused it pull away from the house. To us, these were very basic install flaws that made us question the integrity of the actual radon mitigation system installed.
Description of Work: We had high levels of radon in the basement of the house we were going to buy. The owner decided to use this company to do the mitigation prior to us closing on the property. He installed a system that collects the radon vapors through the gravel flooring under the concrete basement floor. The fan blows the radon gas outside the home. He had to drill through our basement floor and through our outside wall to put the exhaust piping.
