Garage door opener stopped working completely after about 15 years. Bought a new opener for $345 but the door was unbalanced and there were other parts that needed to be replaced which cost $933 total. Have no idea how to rate the cost because I know nothing about garage door openers, but it was never maintained in 15 years so I'm not surprised other parts needed to be placed.
Have no complaints as of now. Hope it last another 15 years. The difference in the noise is noticeable. The old one had a chain and was very loud, the new one has a belt.
I received a call 20 minutes before my appointment from my tech, Tommy, who arrived five minutes before the appt. He inspected everything, gave me my options, and then fixed everything. He ended up spending nearly three hours on the call, but every part of my garage door is working great. The tracks and motor are humming again, it is completely quiet up and down, and it is smooth as silk.
