 + -1 moreVery well! I brought it in, and they were able to check it out right away. They checked the suction power and switches/levers. It turned out that my daughter left the brush switch to 'Off' so the brush wasn't moving :-/ They confirmed suction was still strong and they even lubricated the floor/carpet switch so it was easier to adjust. The staff at Tom's Vacuum Clinic are patient, knowledgeable and friendly! Even though I didn't "purchase" anything this time (because it wasn't needed), they definitely gained a new customer!
Description of Work: Hoover Windtunnel vacuum check/cleaning/repair. I brought my vacuum that I gave my daughter and she said it wasn't working well anymore--poor suction and I also noticed a buildup of lint in the front.

 + -1 moreWhat excellent service! He went to the trouble of teaching me how to repair the problem with my vacuum in the future should it happen again. Did some overall maintenance in addition to fixing the problem I was having with the brush assembly, and only charged me 10 bucks! Super friendly, too.
Description of Work: Fixed the brush assembly, cleaned filters, lubed handle movement, explained to me how to fix it in the future.

 + -1 moreI stopped in at the end of the day, not knowing anything about Tom's and thinking that I would drop off my vacuum for eventual repair. But they took a look at it right then and there, and concluded that it was a simple clog. Well, they fixed it! I was about to buy a new vacuum for $200, but, instead, I paid about $13 for the repair and went home with a new-old vac. Excellent service. If we had more repair shops like this, perhaps more people would repair their old stuff, instead of constantly buying new stuff.

Description of Work: I took my mother's vacuum in because it needed a new belt. He looked at it and said that it had the wrong kind of belt on. He put on the right belt and I thought I was done. He checked it over and it did not work. He looked at it again and said there was a piece that was broken. He checked his sources to find the piece when he didn't have any luck, he checked an internet site and still didn't have any luck. He took the belt off and there was supposed to be a $10.00 service fee. He didn't charge me at all for the time he spent. I would definetly recommend Tom's Vacuum and I would go back.

As I previously mentioned, I was in and out in less than half an hour with two vacuums working perfectly, and I paid about $10.00 for the parts AND the service- and they even carried the vacuums out to my car for me. I am THRILLED with the experience and would DEFINITELY recommend Tom's for vacuum repairs! They also sell vacuums, and when the ones I have eventually need replacing, I'll check out the selection at Tom's, simply because of the customer service I received with my repairs!
Description of Work: We have had two vacuum cleaners we weren't using (one almost new) because we dreaded dragging them in for repairs, only find out the fix would be very expensive, difficult, or, since one of the vacuum manufacturers had gone out of business, impossible. I finally decided to take them to Tom's Vacuum Clinic because of good referrals, and I'm THRILLED I did. One vacuum needed a small part that had broken off, and the other had a faulty belt. I was in and out in less than half an hour with two vacuums working perfectly, and I paid about $10.00 for the parts and service- and they even carried the vacuums out to my car for me.

 + -1 moreThey were very helpful in helping my decide what type of vacuum to buy based on my needs (I have a dog who sheds constantly). They were not pushy. The vacuum has had some repair issues since then, most of which were my fault and not the vacuums but they have been helpful in fixing it for me.
