It took forever to reach the handyman department. When I did, they seems amazed at the request. When I asked for a general quote it was too high for the work. Never engaged them.

BACK Construction is not the cheapest option out there, but you get what you pay for.  They did a great job, were fantastic with communication, and followed up after each repair to make sure I was satisfied with the work that was done.  A Project Manager inspects work throughout the job and after completion, and provides updates.

A+, and worth the money.  I will use them again.

I was disgusted with the professionalism of the sales manager that I "worked with". When he came out for our scheduled appointment, he was in my home for less than 5 minutes, my one project that I wanted an estimate on he seemed annoyed that he had to think about what would need to be done. He continually told me that it would be expensive even though I never told him a budget for my projects. I specifically asked for a breakdown of cost for the projects because one was a wishlist item but the other definitely needed to be completed. When I got the estimate 4 days after it was promised to me, it did not provide a breakdown. I emailed back Joe, the sales manager, and asked for this. It was not until 19 days later when I emailed him again asking for that again that he sent that to me. The quote was reasonable but I am going to look for another contractor because if this is how a customer is treated before money is handed over, I can't imagine how bad it would be during the process.

Wasn't good, I am in the real estate business. I have a general idea of what the cost of things are. I'm not a sucker. I'll be sure to let clients know.
Response from BACK CONSTRUCTION
"As a Professional Remodeling Company who has been in business for 34 years we believe in having an open, honest, upfront conversation about the projects our potential clients wish to pursue prior to the first on site consultation. We do this in an effort to ensure that our potential clients’ desired scope of work can be completed within their predetermined budget range. In order to accomplish this goal we utilize our own historical data along with the Cost vs. Value Report data, “Remodeling 2015 Cost vs. Value Report” which can be found at www.costvsvalue.com (© 2015 Hanley Wood, LLC. Complete data from the Remodeling 2015 Cost vs. Value Report can be downloaded free at www.costvsvalue.com ”). In this particular case we shared information on redoing a basement, master bath and kitchen as requested and as noted in [member name removed]'s review. According to the Remodeling 2015 Cost vs. Value Report East South Central data, which includes Kentucky, the average Midrange Basement Remodel is an investment of $60,032, the average Midrange Bath Remodel is an investment of $15,316 and the average Midrange Kitchen Remodel is an investment of $53,814. These three averages when totaled add up to an average investment amount of $129,162. Typically sharing this information leads to further productive conversation and eventually an appointment being set up to review the scope of work. We would have been more than happy to further discuss these projects and what alternatives may exist however were not afforded the opportunity once [member name removed] chose to make derogatory statements about our company and hang up the phone on us."

First let me say, this was a difficult job that many other contractors wouldn't even quote!  The Back Construction team came out the same day I called, gave us an estimate and got the job done.

They worked with material I was getting through the manufacture warranty process and did an excellent job.

One of the glass panels was huge and in a vaulted ceiling area about 20' up.  The new glass cracked while they were installing it.  The Back guys called the foreman and they got a replacement glass and took care of everything.

I usually like to do things myself so I know they are done right, but after using the Back construction team I can hang-up my tool belt and get my weekends back.

Far exceeded my expectations. Personnel were professional, prompt, clean. The job was completed in less time than estimated and therefore below estimated cost. The job supervisor followed up afterwards to ensure my satisfaction.

Everything went well.  They were very thorough when inspecting the joists and drywall, they followed up with an estimate within the week, and they clearly explained what the job would entail.  The pricing seemed reasonable, too.

The workmanship is wonderful - no doubt, but the time required for this small project has been discouraging.  I signed the contract on May 16, 2014.  The job began on shortly thereafter, and today is December 28th and the work is not completed.  I'm not sure I'd want them to do a remodel where they needed to be in my home.  I can't imagine how long that might take.  I'm very disappointed in their timeline.  There were many weeks of beautiful weather but no work going on.  Now it's winter and the weather is not so cooperative.

I contacted Back Construction about looking at replacing roof, bathroom remodel and windows through their website and someone got back to me within a couple days but forwarded my info on to two different people who would handle quotes for their respective fields.  It took a while to have one of the people call me and I never heard anything back from the other until I just happened to inquire about Pella windows through the Pella website and Back turns out to be the authorized dealer for Pella in the area.  I only ended up getting quotes for the bathroom and windows.  The gentleman arrived on time and was professional.  Pricing wasn't too bad.  It wasn't the cheapest nor the most expensive.  I ended up going a different route.

This was for two skylights.  Timing to do the work was delayed after our initial signing of contract in late fall, but Back scheduled at first opportunity in better weather of mid February.  They completed the work in good order and did a nice job with the roof around the installation.

We tried to get several bids for this work but Back was one of the few that responded.  For a small job, it is difficult to get a contractor to give a quote or visit to look at the job.  While the total cost was a bit more than I had hoped for, the expectations were admittedly based on a lack of experience in what such a job would cost.  Of higher importance is that the work is done competently and safely.

Based on my experience with this small project, I would recommend considering Back Construction.

I am a graduate of Architecture school, and require meticulous work. the entire process, from beginning to end went perfectly, with pleasant and capable management and a minimum of disturbance.
They were Absolutely on time and schedule, with all "punch list" items completed professionally. They even used their industry knowledge and connections to help solve another contractor's unfinished work.
I  would highly recommend this contractor to any and all without reservation!

They did an excellent job. They are not the cheapest, but they are the best. They do quality work. I recommended them to my neighbor who also used them.

The man who came out and did the estimate on the work, he and the people who showed up to do the work, they would say no we would like to do it this way, we need to do it that way. So, the experience was not good at all. Then, they also did some work they did not get a bid on. They did not bid on a window, which was additional work, but then they billed me without my approving and getting an estimate on it. I had shown him the window and said that we need to address it later, but the next thing I know, is that they did the window and put it in and then sent me a very hard deal. It was very expensive. Then, some of the jobs they did were sloppy. For the contracted work, they would start and then they would leave it in the middle, to go to other jobs. And then they came in bad weather. It was so bad, and they were tearing up my yard, in the snow during the snowstorm, and then again they would just leave the job and I had to find somebody else to finish it. So I was not happy with their work at all. And I would never recommend them to anyone.
