About us

FREE Written Estimates! No Money Down Contractor! Celebrating 16 years in business! A New Rooftime began in 1996, when Ricky and Sandy Feltner started a small family business that they operated out of their home. By 1999, Ricky's company (Preferred Roofing), had grown large enough to include his son, daughter, son-in-law, along with some terrific work crews. Together the company earned a ranking in R.S.I. magazine's Top 100 Contractors in America (Oct 1998) Ricky passed away at the end of 1999, and the company struggled to carry on without his dynamic leadership. Today Ricky's legacy has been preserved by no less than five roofing contractors that were once part of his vision, all successfully operating their own companies using the same principles and ideals he established over 15 years ago! At Rooftime, Sandy's daughter Missy still answers the phone (even at nights and on the weekends) and Ricky's grandson Justin is now an Owens Corning certified Roofing and Insulation Inspector! A New Rooftime is a true family owned and operated business with deep community roots; over fifteen year's business experience, and is now into their third generation of serving Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. A New Rooftime has been certified by Owens Corning as a "TOP OF THE HOUSE" professional. The company attends annual training certifications to keep current with VENTILATION, INSULATION, RADIATION and how they affect roofing shingles and property values. A New Rooftime exclusively sells and installs the Owens Corning line of roofing and insulation products. In addition to being experts at roof repairs, new roof installations and attic insulation, their other services include professional SKYLIGHT repair and installation using the VELUX brand, as well as chimney repairs and Box gutter repairs. Estimates are free and include an attic inspection & color digital pictures of what the estimators find. A New Rooftime utilizes all the best of today's technology such as thermal imaging cameras to pinpoint hidden leaks and decay, and satellite measurement software to offer 'to the inch measurements" for "to the penny pricing'. Visit www.time2roof.com or call Miss Mona at 513.753.TIME (8463) to get a free inspection of your roof, attic insulation, skylight, and chimney or gutter system.

The company did a great job cleaning up after themselves. They stayed within their estimate. The time they spent on the roof was good considering the weather cooperated. I had no problem that they wanted to be safe and not get on the roof when we were dealing with snow and ice. They were very professional and I would use them again.

Contacted company and scheduled two months in advance. Due to large windstorm the shingles I requested were not available. Initially contacted company in August for October job. September storm caused shingle supply problem. Roof did not get replaced until November. Ended up going with a different color roof than I wanted but the job was quick and looks good. I was hoping with the notice I had given them my shingles would have been ordered, however, the ordering did not occur and the shingles were not available after the windstorm. Additional damage was found after the September windstorm and as insurance ended up covering the entire project. It worked out in the end

We are happy with the look of the roof. The end product was very good. They didn't communicate very well. The customer service wasn't as good as it could have been. They did get the job done before the holidays.

I'm filing a complaint against Roof Time for their extremely poor performance on this project which was done on November 3-4, 2008. The day after the project was completed I inspected the work and found the following. The bottom of the gable siding above my garage where it meets the roof was severely damaged by the workmen and will need to be replaced. A significant amount of leftover debris was in my yard. I found over 100 roofing nails in my lawn and bushes - 2 were on my driveway. Numerous shingle tar marks on my concrete patio, porch, and walkways were caused by tossed shingle debris. Chipped paint on a wrought iron railing was caused by tossed shingle debris. Shingle debris and 2 nails fell inside of my outside air conditioning unit. Workmen dragging nail debris across concrete areas left visible etching and tar marks on the concrete. Cigarette butts and chewing tobbacco wads from the workmen littered my yard. My garage gutters were not cleaned and contained significant nail and shingle debris along with a Pepsi can. A workman temporarily removed a drain pipe and replaced it upside down and left it uncaulked. The completed new roof itself was not cleaned off and needed to be swept. Reinstalled roof flashing was not painted. Several newly installed nail heads in vents and on the roof were visible and not caulked over. My inside attic storage space contained significant shingle debris that fell through roof vent holes. A pickup truck used by a workman damaged a front yard bush. When I complained about all of this, Roof Time sent 2 workmen to correct the problems. They spent a couple of hours trying to correct some of the problems in an inadequate, quick and dirty manner. Most of the issues have not been addressed by Roof Time. As of now, Roof Time has indicated that they have broken off communications with me. I have obtained contractor cost repair estimates of about $3500.00 to correct the remaining problems on my own. My compensation request from Roof Time would be that amount in order to settle this matter and eliminate the need for claims court. Roof Time indicates that they received some kind of superior performance award from Angie's List in their advertising. I hope that is not the case.

After a terrible windstorm, nearly all of the roof shingles on the backside of our home were dislodged and blew away. Panic set in as rain was on it's way. We saw a sign for Roof Time in another yard and the work looked beautiful so we called them immediately. The pleasant Roof Time Secretary who answered the phone was very knowledgeable, and put our anxiety at ease. The Owner of Roof Time came to survey the damage the very same day we called, and put temporary shingles on to protect the roof in case of rain, and a crew was sent to my home within days! Very nice, discreet, clean and organized roofers arrived and did a wonderful job! We have never had roof work done before so we didn't know what to expect, but Roof Time made the process so smooth and we couldn't be happier! If roof work is ever needed by us or anyone we know we will not hesitate to recommend Roof Time.

First they sent the supplies to our home and damaged our driveway before the job begain, I called Dale. He came over and took pictures which I can fax to you. This was on a Monday. He said they would have someone come on Friday, pour in new blacktop and fix it. Then the roofers came on Tuesday. They seemed to be doing a good job. I called Dale and suggested that since they were already here why don't we go on and do the garage too. I told him he would need to wait one week for the additional money. He said he would come by and write up a contract and give me a bid. On the phone he said it would be around $1600. Dale has never written up the contract or given us a invoice. At that time he suggested that I have my neighbor fix the driveway and he would reduce the bill. I told him I would not feel comfortable asking my neighbor to fix my driveway besides my neighbor is not expereinced in driveway repairs. He said he would take care of the driveway asap. Dale has a invoice he has sent the Better Business Bureau which we have never seen or signed. Now I feel like he is making up paperwork and trying to avoid completing this job.
Description of Work: They were hired to put on a roof at our residence. Because we are living on disability we had to pay for the roof in two payments and this company agreed. They were scheduled to do one half of our roof which needed the work to stop some leaks. Once they had started the work we decided to go ahead and have the entire roof done at one time and they agreed to accept the final payment of $1,700 at the end of the month. We thought that was very nice and we were happy to give them the extra work. The first problem was upon delivery of their supplies - their truck dug up the blacktop in our driveway. Had I not been home they would not have reported the damage. When they looked at it they assured me it would be fixed by Friday (this took place on Monday). We were told they would come and dig out the damaged spot and fill it with fresh blacktop. They replaced the roof. They were supposed to return and do a walk through to be sure every thing promised was done as agreed. First, they did not return or call about the driveway repair. I was told to have my neighbor fix it or reduce our bill. I have had two driveway companies here. The repair has cost $450 and the driveway still looks awful. And the worst part is our roof continues to leak in the back area and it appears to be leaking worse. About a week after they put on the roof we had that terrible wind storm. A large branch was on our garage portion of the roof. I called them asking if they could come and just check to see if there was damage so the insurance company could be notified. I was told they were too busy and the branch would need to be removed before they could even look at the roof. Later when the insurance company did come they pulled the branch off and said one shingle seemed to be slightly torn. One of the replacement shingles that had been left was put in it's place and the garage seems fine. Its the back of the house that had the original problem, which they looked at and were supposed to fix with the new roof - it is leaking worse. We have not paid them the promised portion of the balance which would be $1,600. They have not called about it, they have not sent a letter, nothing. They have just picked up and left us with a real mess. We are having another roofing company come later this week to give us a bid on fixing their work. We plan on taking them to court for all of the damage, but now we need to get a lawyer involved. Since submitting this report we have experienced heavy leaking around the chimney area of our home and the front windows. I called Dale at Roof Time and asked if he would come to the home to look at the damage and he refused stating "He didn't care and he was not going to stand by the warranty because we have not paid for the work in full." I again asked him for a completec contract and invoice for the garage and reminded him this leaking was on the main house roof which was paid in full. We had to call another roofing company to come and fix the roof.

A woman called me back the next morning in response to my email from the afternoon before. I don't feel she read my comments because she was unaware I was contacting them for a roof repair. Once we got that clarified, our conversation went further downhill. Her overall professionalism was lacking, and this was the only opportunity for me to form an impression of the company. In the end, she told me that they are really busy since the storms, and also dealing with people who haven't even contacted their insurance companies, yet. (I had already received my settlement from our insurance company, which she insisted on knowing the amount.) She said that Dale will stop by in the next week or so to look at our roof, but they won't make an appointment or be able to notify me ahead of time. I clarified with her by asking "He is just going to show up unannounced and get up on our roof?" Yes was the answer, and again I got some flack from her when I asked him to at least knock on the door to announce himself. With the IKE storm, I am understanding that it might take a while to receive service, but I was completely uncomfortable with how they seem to be approaching their business. When I relayed this information with my husband, we decided NOT to work with them at all. I called back the next business day and requested they not come out, and to my knowledge, they have not.
Description of Work: Contacted them via email asking for quote for roof repair and the other free evaluations they promoted on their website.

I FEEL LIKE I HAVE TO RESPOND TO THIS MEMBERS COMMENTS. I AM SORRY THAT THE MEMBER FELT UNCOMFORTABLE WITH THE IDEA OF WORKING WITH US. HOWEVER, HER DETAILS DIFFER FROM OURS. SHE WANTED A SPECIFIC TIME, WHICH WE EXPLAINED WAS HARD, DUE TO THE FACT THAT STORM DAMAGE QUOTES ARE DIFFERENTLY PREPARED THAN ROOF REPLACEMENT QUOTES, DUE TO THE FACT THAT SOME CAN BE HANDLED IN ONLY MINUTES, AND OTHERS THAT ARE SEVERELY DAMAGED, CAN TAKE OVER AN HOUR TO ASSESS. HOWEVER, WE ALWAYS CAN MAKE A COURTESY CALL ON THE WAY TO ALERT A HOMEOWNER AS TO HOW THE DAY IS PROCEEDING. WE HAD HAPPILY AGREED TO CALLING BEFORE COMING AND TO KNOCKING AT THE DOOR... WE NEVER JUST SHOW-UP AND GET ON A PERSON'S ROOF. EVER. SANDY DID ASK ABOUT THE INSURANCE ASSESSMENT, IF WE CAN GET A COPY OF THE AGENTS ASSESSMENT, WE CAN OFTEN GET A BETTER IDEA OF HOW LONG WE WILL NEED TO PRPEPARE OUR FREE WRITTEN DETAILED QUOTE, ADDITIONALLY WE CAN SOMETIMES GET FUNDS ADDED THAT ARE TYPICALLY MISSED BY INSURANCE ADJUSTERS, THUS HELPING HOMEOWNERS TO SPEND LESS TO RESTORE THEIR HOME! THE MEMBER DOES NOT NEED TO WORRY ABOUT ANYONE FROM ROOF TIME, DROPPING IN TO HER HOME, WE HAVE NOT COME OUT TO PREPARE OUR 4 PAGE, DETAILED WRITTEN ESTIMATE THAT INCLUDES DIGITAL COLOR PHOTOGRAPHS. DUE TO THE IKE STORM, SANDY IS RECEIVING AN AVERAGE OF A HALF-DOZEN, ANGIE'S LIST MEMBERS, CALLS FOR HELP EVERY DAY! IF SOMEONE DECIDES THAT FOR ANY REASON THEY DO NOT DESIRE OUR HELP, WE UNDERSTAND AND SIMPLY MOVE ON TO HELPING OTHERS. WE WISH HER THE BEST OF LUCK AND APPRECIATE ALL THE ANGIE'S LIST MEMBERS WHO HAVE CONTACTED US FOR HELP!

There was a persistent problem with the roof leaking, but only at certain times, when it rained. It seemed to be related to the wind blowing in a certain direction. Dale said that some of the shingles had been nailed with only two nails instead of three, which was part of the problem. He gave me two options: a "quick-fix" type option for less money or, his recommendation, to add a second layer of shingles. I opted to add the shingles. The work took about a day and a half. Because this is an odd sort of problem, and because we haven't had any rainstorms with wind yet, I can't comment on whether the leaking problem has been solved. However, the new part of the roof stayed on just fine during the hurricane Ike winds, so it seems to be very secure.

I called Roof Time to do roof and siding repairs after the great Cincinnati wind storm of 2008. However it took almost a week to even get a call back to schedule a visit. I understand there were lots of people calling for repairs. However, the other companies I called at least responded by phone quickly. Very few were able to do the work quickly but the others were better organized as to when they could respond.

Very satisfied. Got multiple bids before starting. Only issue was delay in getting started but this was mostly due to lots of rain in May. They were very reasonable compared to competitors and felt I was dealt with fairly. Experienced crew that did quality work. Explained and reviewed work and gave other helpful ideas as well not related to the roof. They also did not try to talk me into work on gutters that some others bid without question as to the absolute necessity of the gutters being replaced!

In the middle of a bathroom remodel, we had come across a hole in our exterior brick vaneer at the roof line, through which water and birds were finding their way into the outer wall of our home. Seeking solutions, we called a roofer. To our pleasant surprise, Dale (the owner) advised us very honestly that we did not need to repair the roof yet, but rather recommended how we could repair the situation ourselves until we were ready financially to replace the roof and gutters at one time with better results. He estimated that we have about 5 more years left on our current roof. Dale was so pleasant and gave us specific recommendations about how to do the repair. It was so refreshing to encounter such and honest and professional contractor. We will definitely give Dale a call in a few years!

Set up meeting for quote. Was 1/2 hr late, but called ahead. Appeared to be very nice and personable. I told him what I was looking for. He emailed me the quote the next day, before I received any other quotes. The quote was not very detailed. When I received other quotes from other contractors I realized that the Roof Time quote was A LOT cheaper (over $3,000 or about 35%). So I started looking at the quote closer, it turns out he quoted for installing flashing around one skylight not replacing TWO skylights, as I had asked (I thought I was very clear). His color choices for gutters were about 7 compared to hundreds from other contractors. In the end, I was worried about the quality of the product given the lack of detail from the quote process. When I did chose a contractor, I was trying to get the cost of the estimate lower so I brought up my other quotes, this contractors comments about the Roof Time quote was he has more material costs than the total estimate from Roof Time.

Roof Time was great. We had a leak by our chimney and shortly after we agreed on the price and accepted the estimate, Dale and his crew came over and immediately patched the problem area since they could not complete the whole job right away due to their other job commitments. This prevented any additional damage to our roof and underlying structure. The estimate was accepted in November and the work completed in mid December. They finished the whole job in one day, cleaned up completely, and explained some characteristics of our new roof. There was an area over our bay window that was omitted, but when we discovered it in mid January and notified them, Roof Time came over and finished it right away.

From the beginning, Dale's company was first class all the way. When he came out for the bid, he was extremely thorough in explaining what he would do, and what materials would be involved. He discussed all the different options available with the pros and cons of each. I had received two other bids from reputable roofing companies for the project, and not only did I feel that Dale's company was the most knowledgeable and would do the best job, but when I was able to apply a couple of coupon discounts to the original bid, his bid was also the lowest of the three. He was upfront in the scheduling of the job (4 to 5 weeks from the time of the bid). I received a phone call telling me exactly when they would deliver the shingles and what day they would start. I even got an extra call to let me know that the crew might be a little late the 1st day as they were finishing up another job. Excellent work by the crew of 5 guys. Dale made extra sure I was satisfied with the job before they left.
Description of Work: Dale and his crew performed a nail-over, installing a layer of 40 yr. shingles over my current layer. They finished the job in less than 2 days. They also installed edge metal around all the sides, fixed some loose flashing, built a cricket to prevent water damage around the chimney. They also reconfigured a downspout to help with drainage, and painted all exposed metal at the top of the chimney. I was able to keep the leftover shingles which Dale will use in the spring to roof my backyard shed to match the house; a nice bonus.
