Turned away after being told they were taking new patients, wasting 5 hours! THEY ARE NOT TAKING NEW PATIENTS! THEY ARE NOT A HOSPITAL! JUST A MEMBERS ONLY CLINIC!

I have to wait forever. The vets there are down to earth and realistic. They listen to what I am asking them to do, and they do not try to up-sell on services and products the pets do not need. They simply do what I am asking them to do.

My family had just moved into the area and we heard that the ticks here in the Louisville were a nuisance. So I tried to be proactive and I bought our dog, Darcey, flea and tick medicine at a pet store to put on the back of her neck. However, my husband kept finding ticks on the poor dog. Her skin became bright pink and her ears were hot and red with a lot of flea dirt. I had cleaned out her ears Sunday night, but when I got home from work that Monday, the poor dog was just scratching and shaking her ears. She was miserable.
I called the Elizabethtown Animal Hospital at 5:30pm, and asked the receptionist how soon I could get an appointment. She said I could walk in with her as long as I was there before 6:00pm. By the time I found the leash and raced her up to the office, it was 5:55pm. I thought for sure the doors would already be locked. I sheepishly entered and apologized to the receptionist to walk in just before they closed. I was so surprised at how reassuring and kind she was.
Another lady with a dog who was having very serious issues was taken in right away, but Darcey and I still only waited a short time. I noticed how large the waiting area was and how the building looked very new and clean. I apologized again to the technician for coming in last-minute, and she also reassured me that it was okay and not a problem. Within 8 minutes the vet walked in to examine Darcey. He was very kind and gentle with the dog. I was surprised that he did not and quot;bashand quot; the over-the-counter flea medicine I bought. I brought in the box for him to examine. He did say he had another brand with a mix of different medications, however it had one of the same ingredients in the box I bought. So, he explained we would have to wait at least three weeks before he could prescribe another flea and tick remedy. He confirmed that the tick infestation in the area was a difficult nuisance. After examining Darcey, he gave her a cortisone shot and a prescription salve to put in her ears.
On the way to check out with Darcey, I sadly discovered the other dog had to be put to sleep because of heart failure. I felt so sorry for the lady and her husband, but I noticed how kind and genuinely concerned the staff treated them and answered questions about handling the pet's remains. Overall, I would highly recommend this practice.
As a side note, I purchased a flea and tick treatment at a garden center to spread in the yard. Since then, I have not seen any ticks on the dog. So, if you are experiencing that problem here in Louisville, I would highly recommend treating your yard along with getting a certified vet to treat your pet.

My experience with them was Ok but I had a experience with them so I won't use their services again in the future.

Quick, efficient, and friendly. Having a new kitten and not wanting to de-claw her - they took the time to explain other options to me, clipped her nails for me, and gave me tips and tricks for doing it myself at home.

Dr. Jeremy Yates was as kind as could be -- but then, he always is. Elizabethtown Animal Hospital had been my veterinary provider for many, many years when I lived in Hardin County. I moved to Louisville at the end of 2011. There are times, however, when I return to the E'town Animal Hospital because of their fine care and good hearts.

They are one of the cheapest around here. I would rate them high overall. The vet that I saw checked the dog out and my dog is pretty healthy. He answered any questions that I had and I even asked what the difference between frontline and other brands was and he told me what the difference was. He compared even prices and was very helpful. You have to wait your turn there as you can't make an appointment and I have waited for half an hour. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I have had three vets that work there look at my dog and I have felt confident in all.

My husband took the dogs in most of the time. I was always satisfied with their work.
