Keith was on-site within two days to provide a walk-through and initial qoute from my original call for service.  He provided a detailed quote and recommendations within 24 hours in writing.  Following that, he scheduled and performed all quoted work within one week from the estimate.
This gentlemen showed up on time, performed a clean and professional installation of all requested components and he was curtious and considerate.  I purchased some fixtures in advance based on his quote, and even though I had to return an item to correct my error, he was flexible and remained on-site to finish the job that day with no complaints.  He also honored his quote AND discount even though the job was more difficult than quoted.
I plan on using this company and Keith for all of our ongoing needs.

It went really well.  No problems whatsoever! 

I called Hayes Electric after the power went out in my only bathroom late Thursday night.  My work schedule didn't permit a Friday appointment.  Keith advised me he could work me in that Saturday, quoted his Saturday rates, which are fair, and gave me the option of scheduling on a weekday if that better suited my budget.   I appreciated this consideration, and being told upfront what to expect.  I went ahead and scheduled an appointment for Saturday, and we agreed that if once he got there it looked as though the job would be lengthy, I could schedule the remainder of the work during his regular working hours.
Turns out that wasn't necessary.  Keith was in and out in an hour and a half, problem solved.  He called ahead like he said he would, showed up when he said he would, listened as we explained what had already been tried, and quickly diagnosed the problem: a short in the wiring to the lighting fixture.  He took out the old wiring and showed me exactly what the problem was before he set about fixing it.  He had the tools he needed to correct the problem, and cleaned up before he left - not easy because as it happens my bathroom sink was clogged (apparently my bathroom had chosen that weekend to schedule a complete nervous breakdown).  He even took the time to answer some questions we had about the ground fault in the bathroom (completely unrelated to the root cause of our problem, but still good to know).  I was shocked there was no upcharge for drilling through the plaster walls, which I hadn't anticipated he'd need to do.  The bill was exactly for the rates he told me he'd charge, and he managed it in well under the time I'd stated was my maximum for the day, but I never felt like he was rushing.  Just efficient, and thorough.  I believe that if he'd needed more time to do a thorough job, he'd have told me up front and not compromised the work, which I also appreciate.  It's clear to me the work went quickly because he's experienced and just that good.  He was honest and fair, quite pleasant and professional, and clearly knows what he's doing.  As important, he listens.  I also liked the fact that when I called, I got him and not an answering service.  Overall very positive experience.  I think anyone who uses Hayes Electric will be in good hands.

Great!  I wish he was able to do estimates in the evening but he made me his last appointment and I worked it out.

The electrician was able to come early. very pleasant clean cut. In an efficient manner quickly changed fixtures no problem of any kind. Thought the price was high but I am old.

But, he was wonderful  Striking out on his own, he was fantastic.  Showed up as promised on time, and showed professionalism, and a great sense of humor.I'd have him back

He came out to replace a part and found that there was another problem.  There was an overhead light in our kitchen and it had been smoldering.  He pretty much found it and kept our house from catching fire.

The owner is both extremely personable and professional.  Arrived on time, walked through the project, discussed price and then completed well.  Recommend thoroughly.

Keith took on a challenging installation and did a great job! We had been told during the course of an HVAC project that our very old electric service panel was of a brand (federal pacific) that had been experiencing a lot of problems (house fires for example) resulting from failure of the breakers to trip causing the wires to overheat. As we also have quite a lot of knob and tube wiring in our 80 year old home this was a significant safety concern. We called Keith for an estimate and he was able to come that afternoon (we caught a lucky break in his schedule. He is often very booked, owing (we believe) to a combination of his high quality work, low rates, and professionalism). Keith was professional and thorough in his assessment of the job. He returned his estimate quickly, and it was the lowest of them all. We never decide based on price - we try to choose the person we think will give us the best value, doing a good job at a fair price. It was a nice bonus that Keith happened to be the lowest price. Keith was very patient working with us with our schedule - our AC and furnace were both shot, and we were having sealing and insulating work done as part of that project. Keith worked around other contractors, and all went very smoothly. He showed up on time, with a phone call to let me know he was on his way. We had a surprise visit by the HVAC inspector on the first day Keith was there. The HVAC inspection hadn't been scheduled for that day, but the inspector was in the neighborhood and decided to just pop in. Literally. This inspector happened to be in a bad mood and was hassling Keith about whether he had a permit for the electrical work (the answer, of course, was yes). He didn't just ask whether Keith had a permit, he was VERY rude in his tone of voice and manner toward Keith. Keith took it all in stride and was very professional with the inspector. As an added bonus, he was able to cure our flickering kitchen lights with installation of the new panel. He also installed a more new and improved model of the whole house surge protector than he had anticipated at the time. He did not charge us more for the better surge protector. When the electrical inspector came, he was very pleased with Keith's work, commenting on the high quality of the work that was done. Inspection passed with flying colors. Keith has a relaxed manner yet is highly professional at the same time. He is honest, fair, hard-working and really seems to care about doing the best work possible. I would not hesitate to have him come in if I needed work done and couldn't be here. We were very pleased with Keith's work and have had him back twice since then to do other electric projects, and we will have him back again soon, when I have chosen some new light fixtures for installation. He is definitely worth the wait, even when he is booked for a few weeks at a time - don't let that discourage you. It's a testament to how good of an electrician he is, and how fairly he prices his services.

I used my $99 coupon from Angie's List for 2 hours of electrical work from Hayes Electric.  When Keith came out to give me an estimate on installing a flood light on my house, I was impressed with how personable and professional he was.  He went way above and beyond what I expected him to do, climbing into the attic to see if he would be able to install the light where I wanted it.  It was apparent that he knows what he is doing, as he helped me to see that my idea for where I wanted the flood light wasn't the smartest place to put it.  He made a suggestion that made way better sense!  The job turned out to be more involved than we thought it would be, but Keith did not charge me for the additional time it took to complete the work.  I was so pleased with the quality of his work that I hired him to come back and run electric down my lane to the street, install a junction box to run electric to my gate, and install a lamp post with photo cell control.  He took time to answer all my questions and made suggestions as to what might work best for the size of my yard.  He even steered me in the direction of a couple of local lighting companies who might carry the brand of lamp post that would match the lights on my house.  Again, I was so pleased with the quality of his work that I plan to have him do some more work for me this month.

Scheduled over a month out because of schedule conflicts on both of our parts.  Keith showed up on time however and ready to do the work.  Not sure where the communication breakdown was but when he saw the ceiling fans he said he didn't know he was installing the fans.  If he would have known that he would have brought someone else with him.  Stated he didn't have the time to do that because he scheduled me for the two hours only and had another job that he could not miss.  I understand having different clients but I did not appreciate being told the next client was apparently more important to him than the one standing in front of him.  However, I am handy enough that I could install the ceiling fans myself.  Just had not set aside an extra two hours of my own time to do that.  After he had installed the electrical in the first room he tells me he doesn't have another box/mount for the ceiling fan and I would need to go to a hardware store to get that.  I was home by myself so the thought of leaving a contractor that I don't know alone in my house left me a little uneasy.  Just wished he would have come prepared with all of the equipment.
Keith did spend extra time though explaining everything that needed to be done to install the ceiling fans.  He also answered other electrical questions I had.  Everything has worked out fine, ceiling fans are installed.  Just not the smoothest experience.

From start to finish, it was good.  He came and did what needed doing plus a bit more (he's a self-confessed perfectionist).  Was easy to work with.  Answered questions from a neophyte!

The house was sold, during the home inspection the electrical box was flagged as being a fire hazard and the box itself was rusted.  I called several electricians from Angie's list for estimates, Hayes was on time, very professional, outlined how long it would take, what needed to be done and the cost.  They offered the best price, with an inspection and in the shortest amount of time.    When the AC didn't work, without hesitation they came out quickly and resolved the problem.  I couldn't have asked for more.  It was a 50 year old house with multiple electrical additions.
I'd definitely use them again and am spreading their business cards around to my friends and real estate connections.  They helped finalize the sale of this house!

Keith is very nice, punctual, knowledgeable, and was able to fix everything I threw at him that I'd been saving up for 12 years, and at a price we could afford!  He stayed pleasant even after tackling all of the hurdles of our 40 year old house.  I highly recommend him!

He was very prompt and worked quickly. Answered all my questions and helped with additional work while he was here. Reasonably priced, able to get an appointment quickly, and very friendly.

Keith replaced the main service panel for myself and two of my neighbors. When Keith came on site to provide an estimate, he was professional, courteous, and inspired confidence in his ability to do the job. We decided to proceed with the work based on his quotation and the positive reviews listed on this site. The work was completed last week. Keith was very efficient and explained the complete process. All three of us are extremely pleased with the entire experience and would recommend Hayes Electric to anyone.

I needed a porch light installed, a doorbell replaced, a bathroom fan checked and general household wiring checked for replacement.  When I called Keith, he said he was in the area and could stop by in about 25 minutes.  He arrived when he said he would, with his assistant Tim and told me they would have time to install the porch light if I liked.  He examined the doorbell and wiring in my basement and said he would have to come back and take care of those items in the next week.  Keith and Tim were extremely personable, professional and knowledgeable.  I couldn't believe that from my initial phone call to Keith, to the time they left was only about 1 1/2 hours and I had a new porch light!  I will use Hays Electric Services, Inc. for all my electrical needs and will recommend them to my friends.

Keith was punctual, polite, efficient, left the areas clean, and charged a reasonable fee. I will definitely call him with any future electrical needs.

I purchased and Angie's List Big Deal for 2 hours of electrical service work.  I set the service appointment a month or so in advance.  Keith Hayes called the day of the appointment to confirm the time.  He was prompt and was able to use the existing wiring to replace the 2 ceiling light fixtures.  Once on site and having measured the location of the new outlet from the circuit breaker and the conditions in the basement, he had to go to the store for some parts for the dehumidifier outlet.  He was able to get the work done within the two hours.  He was polite, offered some suggestions about placement of the outlet.  He stacked the new light packaging and the old light fixtures neatly in a pile for me to dispose of.  Very happy with his work, so happy I purchased another Big Deal to have a smoke alarm hard wired in my home.
