We had a few leak stains on the ceilings inside. Thought the problem was with the roof. Had a new roof replaced and David with Champion roofing noticed the problem with the chimney. Called David with Top Hat and he came out and looked the chimney over really good. Found all kinds of problems. Wish we had called him before buying the home 9 years ago! He basically rebuilt the whole chimney. David and his crew are very professional. I would recommend them to anyone! A little pricey, but what isn't now a days.

Top Hat was prompt with a bid and did the work they promised for what they quoted. They replaced a chimney cap, put on a cap sealer, and cleaned up/repaired the brick. They finished it off with a well-matched coat of paint an sealed up the flashing. I was impressed with their responsiveness and their tidy work. The replaced the cap instead of just repairing cracks and had the best price.

Because of the flaws that they found, we determined that it was not a good idea to buy the house. The estimated costs to correct the damage was about $500 and the seller refused to pay.
When we asked them about changing the fireplace from gas to wood burning, they quoted a reasonable figure of $85.
We will use them to inspect the fireplace of the next house we hope to buy.

They were professional. Originally the previous company told me that they would take a $100 dollars off the service because of the trouble they caused us. I told that to Top Hat and asked them if they could match that because it was quite a discount and they were able to go as low getting me a couple of discounts.
