They were very good about coming out even though they were scheduled pretty far in advance. They also mowed my lawn without me asking which was appreciated. Their work has been very good.

Benjamin and his crew do a decent job but they don't always come when I would like for them to come. I like to have my lawn mowed through the beginning of November to help mulch the leaves in. Benjamin's service stops mowing when the grass starts to go dormant and this is long before all the leaves are down. I asked him to do some grass planting last fall and it isn't done yet. (April) I am hoping it gets done soon so that I have a stand of grass before the really hot weather sets in. I would switch providers for my lawn maintenance but one of my neighbors had a different service doing her lawn and had pretty much the same level of service.

Benjamin was very nice and seemed knowledgeable, but he was too busy to do the job properly. I would have preferred if he had just told me that he was too busy. He was very prompt coming to the house, looking over the job and giving me a bid. As a result, I purchased a couple of services that I would not have purchased, namely the aeration and application of lime. He was not there to do the job when he said he would be, but did an extra mowing and applied some additional top soil to compensate. When he followed up, he only looked at the front yard and not the back (which was in worse shape) and did not look at the back until a follow-up phone call from me. I got very little additional grass and my back yard looks worse than before the work was done. He was more expensive than other services I have used (including much larger reputable firms that I have used for a few years). I was hoping to find a small business close to my home's location that would give me more personal service, but will keep looking.

"There are some important details left out of this review. The front yard looks fantastic and I did the same exact thing to the back but there are a couple of key differences. The back yard is teeny tiny and is home to two large golden retrievers. Additionally, there is full shade from an 80' oak tree. As I always explain, ALL grass is considered full sun. Some types of grass will tolerate shade better than others, but none like it and all will struggle. So, when you combine full shade with two huge dogs in a very confined space, you will have mud. I did the best thing possible, which was add rich compost and aerate it in. That will give the new grass the best chance possible, but that is a very tough situation. That said, I suspect she'll be surprised this spring at how much grass actually comes up in her back yard."

I just think that they were too automated because even though it is evident that the lawn doesn't need mowing, they will still come and continue mowing. So I stopped using them because I kind of complained about that and I was told that it was up to me to call them and tell them not to come. I just thought that maybe that is true or maybe not but at the same time anybody can see if the lawn needs mowing or not. So I had issues with that.

"Sorry [member name removed], It's very hard to read peoples mind about weather or not their lawn needs mowing. Here's an example: We are scheduled to mow a lawn on Fridays. We drive by and decide to skip because the lawn didn't really need it. It turns out that while the lawn didn't need to be mowed, they were counting on us to blow off the back patio and spruce the place up because they are having a big party that night. I get an angry phone call, or a negative review on Angie's list, because we are now "unreliable." Also, as you can probably guess, gas and payroll are two of my biggest overhead expenses. As a courtesy to us, I ask that if you don't want your lawn mowed, please let me know so we don't waste the time and money coming to "check." A simple email, text message, or call will do the trick. We are super flexible with the scheduling of our mowing. One thing that people really like about my company is that our mowing customers are welcome to be on any mowing schedule they want: 7-day, 10-day, 14-day, 21-day, first Monday of the month, 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month, whatever. Or you can even contact me as needed and for one-time mowings. But if you're scheduled for a mow, we will mow. I believe this to be fair but welcome any new ideas or suggestions."

They were contacted via email and responded within 24 hours that they could perform the mowing services as discussed last year. They did what they said, when they said and we were happy with the results and the prompt service. Will continue using as needed.

I switched to Benjamin Lawn and Landscape after a less than satisfactory experience with a budget lawn mowing service. Benjamin is more expensive than the other service, but the quality of work performed has been excellent. I even asked Benjamin if his crew could clean accumulated leaves out of a basement stairwell on their first trip to my house--a task that I have done myself on many occasions so I know that it is not pleasant. They did a nice job of clearing out the stairwell and only charged me $15 for it. I have a set schedule for lawn mowing of every 10 days, which has worked out well. They got behind a week or so ago and Benjamin emailed me to let me know they would be there to mow the next day--which they were. So far, I have no complaints about this service.

They did a great job. I haven’t got a bill from them yet, but it was not as cheap and they had given me a quote of about $200. What I liked is that they did a good job and did it quickly. Benjamin called me himself right after I left him a message and he was really friendly. I was a little disappointed on the number of services they did and I needed a couple of other things done, like branch trimmings and so on.

Went great. Very responsive and respectful of my property. Benjamin spent time explaining the options with me, the cost differences between materials, and he stayed on budget. The work was done quickly and I've hired him to do the lawn treatment program through next year.

They were fine, although one time they didn't show up when they said they would and they had a lot of problems with blowing leaves and I'm not sure if it was weather related as to why they didn't do it. I see they have days they are supposed to do it, but they didn't pick it up when they were supposed to. I plan to work with them again.

Overall, we have had a great experience with this company. For snow removal, they cannot be beat. We paid $45 during the last snow (~8") for them to clean off our (very long) driveway, sidewalks and part of our patio. The pricing is fair, and Ben will send an email out when snow is forecast to confirm if we would like them to come. They do a nice job, and even snowblow a path in the backyard for our dogs to take care of their business. For leaf removal, we had requested they come once per week to cleanup our leaves, and they were coming about every 10 days to every other week. In our neighborhood - BKS/Waldo, I get the impression there were just too many customers/leaves to keep up with. This was a little frustrating as we had just seeded the lawn, but they did the best they could to fit everything in and did do a very nice job when they came, and I believe we were also getting some rain which hampered their ability to get out. We've had them mow/trim/fertilize for us as well, and they do a nice job and the pricing is fair and reasonable. The only constructive criticism I have is that I wish they could get to us every single week to do leaves in the fall. However, we did try another service, and the experience was the same, so we are sticking with Benjamin, as he's a pleasure to deal with and is extremely responsive.

Benjamin and his people have done an excellent job for us. The price is very reasonable and they are reliable and of good quality. He has been willing to take on extra jobs such as bed care and has done this well. He was not too efficient with snow removal last year but otherwise he is excellent. I think the snow situation last winter overwhelmed everyone.

I think that they do a thorough job. I am happy with them. It is easy to use them and I don't have to supervise them. I like the convenient email billing.
