We have been customers for the last 12 years. They are a full service vet hospital. They are one of the best avian veterinarians in the local area. They are very skilled, knowledgeable about a variety of different pets. They have just been great!

The veterinarians who treat my dog are very knowledgeable and they follow good practice. There are about 4 to 5 veterinarians there and the ones that I see for my dog make it a point to see the same vet so that there is a continuity of care and always follow up. They make sure that she is improving and the symptoms are getting better. They follow up on any question on medication and she is being treated for something. I have used other veterinarians for other dog in the past and with this dog, she doesn't get distressed about going in there. It's a fairly calm experience while she is in there, whenever there is test done or going for a visit. They are very expensive but I get what I pay for. I will continue to use them again in the future.

We usually see Dr. Burchan and she is terrific. They are very professional and thorough and very compassionate with the animals (good "bedside" manner). They take the time to answer questions and listen if there are problems. We usually don't have a problem getting an appointment. My only complaint is that they are more than a bit greedy and you have to be on your guard or you might get stuff you don't need or didn't request. They have pre-charged me for stool samples for a yearly visit after telling them that we wouldn't be getting that done as we just had it done for something else. Once the vet cut the cat's claws as part of the well kitty visit (which I didn't request as we cut them at home) and they charged me ($30!) for that. Fortunately the vet came out and corrected it - but jeez people! And EVERY time we take the animals in they recommend a six month check up even though EVERY time we tell them that the animals are healthy and we'll only be bringing them in once a year (sheesh - my kids don't even go in for well child visits but once a year!). It makes you wonder if they really have the customers' best interests at heart or whether it is only their bottom line they care about.

We woke up 1 morning to find my son's beloved hamster with rectal bleeding. Being 2 yrs old and at the end of her lifespan, I was inclined to let nature take its course but when my 12 yr old son looked at me with his big, teary eyes and said "Mom - Do something!" I knew I had to. I called our dogs Vet (who I found out, doesn't see hamsters) and they recommended Olathe Animal Hospital. I called and even though they were booked for the day, they told me to bring her right in and leave her for their Dr.'s to see between other "patients." We went home, the Vet called us 1 or 2 hrs later to give us the news. It didn't look good, she said, and explained what she thought the hamster probably had, but just in case... they would send us home with an antibiotic. She said we could do additional testing but recommended against it because of her age and cost. OK - so I've never given an antibiotic to a hamster but we managed and wouldn't you know it - she recovered and 2 months later is still alive and well!! $100 might have been a bit high but they warned me ahead of time and I was willing to pay it. They were very professional and I would certainly use them again.
