Appliance 911 Appliance Repair & Heating and Cooling is locally, family owned and operated. We serve Johnson County, KS and the entire KC Metro Area. We specialize in servicing all major household appliances and HVAC by an experienced staff of factory certified technicians who are honest, friendly and all-around nice dudes. Our service call is $90 and it is free if you do a repair! We service refrigerators, ice makers, washers, dryers, ovens, dishwashers, garbage disposals, water heaters, AC and Furnaces. We service all major brands. We are Consumer 5 Star Rated on Google and a Nextdoor Favorite 3 years in a row! All repairs and parts include a warranty.

If you choose to go forward with the repair, we will get it done quickly and correctly. We stand behind all our work with the best warranties in the business!

We were given a time window of 4 hours. The repairman showed up early in that time window and diagnosed the problem quickly. The temperature sensor had become faulty and was causing ice to build up on the lead to the coils. The fan was knocking against the ice. He had the replacement part in his truck, and was able to replace the faulty part in a short time. We haven't had any noise from the refrigerator since then.

It went smoothly. The young man came in. Quiet, but polite. I could tell he takes his job seriously. Worked hard trying to figure out what the root cause of the problem was. Told us what he was 98% sure it was. Said he needed to order part. Told us upfront how much it would all be. Said would call as soon as he got the part to come out and install it. He got the part called, came out and installed it. Showed us the old part had locked up. Gave us further instructions and to call him if it was not completely cooling in 24 hrs. Great work!

I can't say enough nice things about these people. First, they took a next-day appointment, and were SO nice on the phone. When our tech arrived (Scott?), he was genuinely nice - and said he loves Maytags because they're so easy to fix. He replaced the timer in less than half an hour ... for less $ than we expected. Because the washer was already loaded with clothes and soap, he even turned it on for us before he came back upstairs. How many service companies will start your laundry for you? We're just so impressed. We're calling them back in a couple of weeks to take a look at our temperamental icemaker.

Appliance 911 showed up on time, and the technician Billy communicated well on an estimated ETA until arrival. Billy was very professional and friendly. I rated "Fair" only for the following reasons: I had already trouble shot the failed part and had ordered a replacement part from sears. I had already taken the range apart and the replacement took less than 15 minutes. The technician swapped out the part, and I put the range back together. There was no price quoted prior to the repair, and I wasn't informed until after the work was complete that the fee would be ~$150 for the 15 minutes of labor. I indicated that was excessive labor for a 15 minute repair, but was told that the fee is the minimum service charge for the company. It would have been nice to know in advance that there is a minimum service fee and I could have evaluated my options.

"[Member Name Removed], I know it seems crazy for a technician to do it that quickly, but i have to be honest that it sounds like our technician did his job perfectly. A bad compressor can often be diagnosed in minutes. Instead of trying to sell customers on the repair, we will often advise them to call the manufacturer and see about warranty information or find out if this is a common issue and if they will fix it at no cost. I totally understand how it can look like it is "too fast" but sometimes it takes an hour and sometimes, as is often true with compressors, it can take just minutes."

Unsatisfied customers Contacted and had someone come out on a “free service call.” Removed a sock from the dryer drum and was told it would cost $149 labor and that it was an additional $149 for the washer. 20 minutes later, was told the problem was a filter on the washer-which did not require disassembly, just a quick rinse. . Total $320. Felt like it was too expensive for the time the contractor was here. Upon first wash, washer still had the same problem-not progressing to rinse and spin cycle. Contacted the company the next morning and they said the work is guaranteed and there would not be a fee. The next business day the contractor returned and after 10 minutes said the board was broken and would need complete replacement. Estimated $300 for parts plus labor. Judging off of the first visit, this would be an additional $400-$600. When I asked about the initial charges and why he didn’t identify the problem the first time, I was told that he didn’t charge me for the washer the first time and that the $320 included $149 service call fee and $149 labor plus tax. That is not what my receipt says nor is it what I was told 2 business days before. As the washer only costs $599 to buy as a scratch and dent from NFM and is 2 years old, I decided to not be ripped off further and manually add the rinse and spin cycle to each load. The same I as I was doing prior to repair. We were clearly given the run around and I do not recommend doing business with this company.

Thank you so much and have a great day!” You left us a message regarding your microwave and We returned your call the next morning before 9:00 and left a voicemail that we would be happy to talk to you about it. You did return the call when we were on the other lines but didn’t leave a voicemail for us. There are times, especially during the Summer, in which our phones ring back to back and customers will need to leave a message for us. We do always return calls. We are family owned and do not use an answering service. Every call is one of our team answering personally. Please contact us if there is any way we can mend the relationship and earn your business. The technician, Billy, arrived promptly and had the problem diagnosed within 15 minutes. The power outage had damaged the compressor starter relay system. The starter system incl. a surge protector component was replaced. Billy also assisted us in diagnosing a refrigerator freezer fan problem for future repair consideration.

The technician arrived with another technician. I explained the problem to them. Within 5 minutes, he knew what the issue was. He explained it to me and let me know that he could fix it but, since it was a design flaw, he couldn't warranty the repair. He encouraged me to contact Maytag since my fridge was only 2 months out of warranty. He said that they are usually good about taking care of their customers. I paid the fee for his visit ($20 + tax) which was VERY reasonable. He said that if I wanted him to come back and repair it he would apply that amount to the repair charge (if done within 30 days. I was impressed with his knowledge and his straightforwardness. I WOULD CALL Appliance 911 AGAIN IN A HEARTBEAT! They are fair, honest, knowledgeable and give you value for your money. I did contact Maytag and although my fridge was 2 months out of warranty, they agreed to cover parts and labor for the repair. WOW! Because of the nature of the issue, we have to wait for a new freezer door to be built. I'm impressed with Maytag, too!

The refrigerator had developed a "chemical" smell, although it appeared to be running properly. Tech located two refrigerant leaks and compressor running very hot. Replaced compressor with non-OEM model, but better track record. Unit has been running well since repair and smell is dissipating. Tech was able to easily answer all questions and was prompt and professional.

My dryer had a wiring problem. Appliance 911 was able to send a repair person out the next day, and they were able to diagnose and fix the problem quickly. The reason I'm giving a slightly lower rating is because they gave me a four hour window and then called and wanted to come an hour early. I had to scramble to get back home to meet them because I had planned my day around the agreed upon time window. They did good work so I'll probably call them again the next time I need an appliance repaired, but hopefully next time they'll stick to their time window.

They were very quick to respond and the least expensive to come out and provide an estimate. Overall I was please, except the price. For what was wrong (and the amount of effort it took them to fix) I don't feel the price was fair. It should have been extremely less.
