Called after hours. Tech gave me after hours price and tried to schedule normal hours service. I appreciated the recommendation, but needed the service at that time.
Tech went out corrected the problem and told me the issues with the water heater. Gave me good money saving recommendations. I appreciated his honest and hard work.

LBA pulled a permit from Overland Park and when the city inspected it, there were no problems. 4 days after install LBA sent another guy out to do a quality check on the system. Checked for gas leaks, care of installation, etc. They clearly want it done right and they did it right.
In the past, I have always purchased the highest efficiency system available. This time, with a kid in college, I was a little more budget conscious. This a mid-range Lennox system with some upgraded features, not the least of which is a thermostat i can control from my phone or any computer. On a cold morning, that is one sweet feature when you can grab the phone from your nightstand and turn up the heat before you get up.
I dreaded spending the money, but this system actually makes the air seem fresher in our house. That may sound like BS, but I think this unit (3 ton, same as the old one) pushes a lot more air around, much more quietly, and it really feels like we're breathing fresher air. Way quieter on the outside, we can barely hear this unit from our patio.
I've used some other good companies in town, but there is something about the people in the LBA organization. They just seem to have an attitude that's a cut above the others (who have mostly been very good as well). Shout out to Carolyn in the LBA office for all the heads-up phone calls keeping us up to speed on when service guys were coming.

Service was provided on Saturday in the aftermath of the Artic Vortex freeze that created all kinds of frozen pipe problems in Kansas City. I tried many other plumbers only to find out they were handling only existing customers and I would have to wait for an extended period before service could be scheduled. The existing shutoff valve was leaking and very close to failing structurally so I had the water service to the house shut off at the meter to avoid a flood. I travel for work and am not readily available for service calls or waiting for service at the house. LBA was able to schedule a service call within a day. The scheduler was quick to realize my time restraints and adjusted to satisfy my needs. The technician arrived exactly on time and service was conducted professionally. The water was turned on at the meter by LBA and a leak check was accomplished.
Excellent service. I will use LBA for other services in the future.

In the meantime, I had two other A/C companies out. Both said our A/C unit was a little low on refrigerant but not very low and that the unit was fine, just old. We had one of the other companies put 2lbs of R-22 in, spent about $150 and our A/C has been fine since. I will never use LBA again and am going to try to get the rest of the service agreement money back.
