Most of the work was performed by two technicians but at some point I think they realized they wouldn't be done before we moved in and called in a bunch of back-up to do the work--I appreciated the commitment to getting the job done on time.
They also handled moving where the power came in to the house and all the communication with the power company--there was some delay in getting this done but I think it was more on the city than MVP.
I will say that there were several large holes left in the wall where MVP needed to access wires--they warned me of this beforehand but I was surprised how many there ended up being--not MVP's fault but something to consider if you're getting a re-wire.
Overall, I felt like we got an excellent value out of this work.
THIS OFFER INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING TYPES OF JOBS:
Mounting and wiring a new HDTV
Installing new lighting dimmers and switches
Installing interior or exterior outlets
Installing a new ceiling fan or bathroom exhaust fan
AND MORE!
The estimate I was given was for over $800. After deducting the $225, MVP wanted in excess of $600 additional for work that appears to be covered by the Big Deal. The deal is misleading at best.
"The work the client needed done included: running power to a new switch location, running the wiring up to a new location for a bath fan, installing the client provided fan, and venting the fan. New exhaust fan venting codes require us to vent it out of the house requiring a roof penetration and running ductwork from the fan to the roof vent. All of that work for $225 is not a reasonable expectation. And while the ad does list several things the coupon can be used toward it is not meant to imply that it will cover the entire cost of that project- only that it can be used toward it. Every situation is different and they are bid individually."
12-5-2013. Had them out again for some additional work. Jeff returned and again did an outstanding job! I couldn't be happier with the results and work I got for my money. I'm a tough grader so to rate perfect is even more impressive.
He installed everything like i wanted, really happy with the job.
I felt the total price was little expensive, even after getting coupon via angies list but i am happy with the work.
"The client called us out to look at a noisy ceiling fan, a light that needed replacement, and an outlet for their travel trailer. The fan was very old and making noise. The labor involved to remove a ceiling fan, find the noise, repair it (usually re-winding the motor) and re-installing the fan normally far outweighs the cost of installing a new fan. We explained that and gave them a price for replacing the fan. The light needing replacement was a fluorescent light in the kitchen. Removing the old one and installing a new owner provided light was quoted at a little over $100. The outlet for the travel trailer was about 80' from the panel and required quite a bit of cable fishing and outdoor conduit running. It was quite labor intensive and ended up being a lot of money- about $815. It was more than the client expected to spend. I regret that we couldn't make them happy."
"It is not possible to do a tune up on a non-functional air conditioner or furnace. The client was told "We will come out and take a look at your air conditioner, let you know what is wrong with it and do your tune up." It was not clearly conveyed that the repair had to be done, and for that I apologize. We have changed our script to be more specific for occasions like this one."
