MVP Electric, Heating & Cooling

 I wanted to replace the light in the foyer and the hall bathroom so when I seen the MVP Electrical on an Angie's list Big Deal ($110 for $225 worth of service), I knew it was the perfect time to do it. I have used MVP Electric in the past so I was confident they would do a great job. When you call to make the appointment, they have the BEST answering the phone! Makes me feel like I am a valued customer :)  On the scheduled day, Todd called to let me know he was about 20 mins away. Personally, I love when contractors do this. They arrived shortly after. I showed them the lights I had purchased and where I wanted them to go. They gave me a price and I agreed. They got right to work. While Todd worked on the bathroom light, his associate (sorry, I don't recall his name) worked on the foyer light which is about 14 ft high. He worked with me to get the perfect hanging height of the light. Very patient ,professional and friendly! They cleaned up after themselves, even taking away the old fixtures. From start to finish they did an amazing job!

I was called the day before our scheduled appointment to remind me, then sent an email with a "resume" of the tech that would be at my house. Work was completed in a timely fashion. He offered several "extras" but wasn't pushy about it. I would definitely use them again.

Prompt service tech arrived and went through entire home for electrical check. We asked for estimate on starting up attic fan and replacing the outside doorbell button ( I purchased ahead of time).

He made a list of possible upgrades and we may get to those at a later date.

Tech was friendly and thorough and finished the work requested.

We had purchased a special package for $49.00 for $125.00 of work.....

Quotes on additional work I felt were high.

We had a good experience with them. I paid an additional amount for the extra services.

They were upfront as far as giving me estimates of the work going to be done and showing me how it would improve our service as we were having some problems with the circuit breaker. He explained what the technical aspects of it and was very understandable to a lay person. He did a good job.

On the first date of the appointment which was set for the afternoon, we waited until 3:30 PM when the office called to say the technician was still finishing up another job and it would be another 45 minutes.  At 4:45 PM I called the office and asked to be rescheduled.  The next appointment was over ten days out.  But, two days before that I got a call first thing in the morning saying they could come so we went with it.  The tech was pleasant and informative about what he was doing.  However, I realized after that he had taken away a metal junction box I had used to protect the new line from the garage until I could get an electrician in to connect it to the circuit panel, and a 12 ft piece of copper wire I had installed as a temporary ground wire.  It would have been nice to at least have been asked if I wanted to keep those items.  It just left us with an odd feeling of having been taken for granted.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it was fine. I had to pay about double the price of the deal. I thought their prices were really high for their services, which I did not know when I bought the deal. They seemed to be high priced and I did not feel like I got a good deal. Their work was fine, however.

I was not here but my adult daughter said the electrician was very kind and professional.

It turned out well. We were pleased with the workmanship and the technician did a fine job with our electric panel. We are pleased with the outcome. Everything went well. We haven't had any issues since the service was provided.

Having had good luck with this company before, I bought a big deal to have a couple of outside receptacles replaced that were in bad condition.    As he reviewed the work he found some other big problems.  In a weak moment I told him to proceed as I didn't want a fire hazard.  However, the total bill was about $1500.  I should have got some other bids.  I don't mind paying for work needed but I don't like being gouged!   I'm guessing parts were in the $200 range and 9 hours of labor at maybe $50/hr. would be a total of like $650 or so.  I would have felt okay with a fee in the range, but over twice that amount, just doesn't pass the logical test.  
To make matters worse, when I shared my concerns with MVP management, I have not received any response and I even followed up with them 3 days later.   I'm wanting to understand what I may be missing and how they justify such a high charge from a good customer that has used their firm numerous times before.  
I'm sure they are going to say we have fixed charges for various items, but again it has to have some logic and pass the 'smell test'.   
I can't recommend them any longer based on this and suggest you proceed with caution if you want to use them.

There were no troubles with scheduling. Not long at after we purchased the deal, they called us for scheduling. We talked to Rhonda and she was very nice. So far, everything has been good. We have the appointment scheduled for next week.

It was good.  They checked the electrical and said I would get a credit on the jobs they do in the future.

We paid for an additional hour of work. I felt their prices were high. I had issues with the fact that they kept trying to add on stuff. When we called them before the service they said everything we wanted to have done should have been covered within the Big Deal price, but when they came out they were additional fees just to get done what we wanted. Overall, it was fine and they were very quick to get back to me though.

The install went great, the installer was professional, courteous and very knowledgeable.  My husband and I will be using MVP from here on out for all our heating and cooling issues.  Thank you MVP!!

I bought a big deal for services that they came out and fixed my lamp post light and gave estimates on some other items and quick and promt and very nice to my wife. Not pushy and even suggested other options.

I bought a deal for $599 for a new electrical panel for a home I have on the market.  Everything went perfect.  No complaints whatsoever.  The technician was friendly and very helpful.  He even came out to my new house and installed a dimmer for an extra small fee that same day.  Very happy with entire experience and will use them again in the future.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was good. I paid additional because I had them do some other work. There was nothing bad about it. I'm going to use them again.

Todd called to confirm he was on his way and arrived promptly at 8 AM as planned in the MVP van. He wore an MVP uniform shirt, provided me with his business card, and asked me to show him where the electric panel was located and describe what we needed done. Todd then inspected the entire site, and started the work at 8:45 AM.  From time to time he gave me updates and asked me to look at the work to approve it. Everything he did looks professional and complete, the garage door opener and doorbell worked again, and we had 240 and 120 service to the our main floor laundry area. Todd was completely finished by about 11:45 AM.



I was confused by the final bill Todd presented to me, because the total was about nine times the value of my $225 coupon. We worked out an amount I could agree to, and Todd called his office to seek approval (they approved the suggested amount). 



Todd was very professional, made good suggestions, and apparently cleaned up any trash from the jobs he did for us. If you're looking for a company that provides KNOWLEDGEABLE, SAFETY-FIRST, PROPERLY DONE electrical services, I hope you'll contact MVP.I will definitely use them again.



My only suggestion is that you ask about MVP's established price for each job you want done, so there is no confusion when the final bill is presented to you.
