Every turned out fine. I had them did some small projects; installing fixtures and checked some circuits. One electrician came out to do the work. He was here for a couple of hours and the price for that was reasonable.

The electrician arrived on time and was very nice I showed him the new chandelier and told him I wanted to replace my existing one. He couldn't figure out how he was going to get a large ladder in my entry hall. The dimensions of the area are 10'x14', then he told me that they don't have a ladder that tall and that he would have to rent one or rent a single person electric lift at my expense! He went back to his truck and 30 minutes later returned with a quote of over $450 that is over and above the credit of my $149 groupon, and said that he didn't have another person with him and that if I accepted this outrageous quote that they would have to come back in two weeks because he didn't have time to hang it today. This news came after I took the day off from work to be here for them since I was initially told they would have time to hang it and that the groupon should cover the cost. I complained to the office and received a phone call from whom I believe to either be the manager or owner of the company. Again he was very nice and told me that they charge per service with flat rate pricing, so if it takes them 30 minutes or 8 hours they charge the same amount. He said the customers seem to like that pricing, I can't understand how it would be beneficial to a customer to have them work an hour but be expected to pay for the full day's wages. The gentleman said they don't have a ladder that tall and offered to remove the rental fee but I was still responsible for the $450.  I declined the offer and will be asking for my money back and will be very cautious on buying one of these "deals" in the future.  I had quotes from two other people who are licensed and insured,  one from another electrical company and the other from a handyman service. They both came in at $100 and that was if they had to install additional support in the junction box otherwise it would be $50 for the simple re-wiring and hanging of the light. When buying this "deal" I thought since they were going to charge me $100 that I would be covered with $149 credit and be able to save the extra $50. Unfortunately I fell victim to the old bait and switch.

Response from MVP Electric, Heating & Cooling
"The client bought our bath fan BigDeal but provided her own fan. We gave her a credit for the fan she bought. There was no fan currently in that location so we added $$ for running the electrical wiring. We also priced running the vent piping out of the house as required by code. That is where the add'l $$ came from. The client did not let us know there was an issue. This review is the first we heard of it. We are reaching out to the client to see if there is anything we can do to help. Since the client provided her own fan I can't guarantee its function. All we can do is install it as recommended by the manufacturer, which we did. Hopefully she gets back with us and will let us try to help make this difficult situation better."

Purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for $99, to cover installation of a wall mounted television.  The wall bracket was included in the price of the deal.  The service was scheduled quickly after the purchase of the deal.  The installers arrived promptly at the scheduled time and went right to work.  The 42 inch TV was mounted and all wiring was done with surround sound, DVD player and DVR/cable all hooked up.  The tech cleaned up after himself and left the area neat and clean.  I was very satisfied with every aspect of this service and would definitely use MVP Electric for future work in my home.

This provider is running a great scam.  I purchased for $49 the service call and $125 of electrician services.  I needed 3 flurescent fixtures replaced in a closet, a light switch replaced, and some bulbs above a cove replaced.  I had purchased the replacement fixtures and bulbs from Home Depot, so it was simply a matter of removing 3 fixtures from the ceiling and replacing them with the same (albeit new) fixtures.  I then wanted the bulbs from the old fixtures installed in some cove lighting where the bulbs had burned out.  I also need a wall switch replaced.  Here is the bid I received from the technician:  replace the fixtures ($545.28); replace the switch ($122.97); replace the burned out bulbs ($85.47).  I asked the technician what he was basing the pricing on, and he told me it was all contained in his pricing book, which he showed me.  Sure enough, those were the prices for those services.  When I told the technician that the total job would likely take less than 1.5 hours, he agreed.  That works out to $500.00 per hour for electrical services.  The only charge for a part was the cost to replace the wall switch (which can be purchased at Home Depot for under $5.00).
Even if you don't know anything about electrical repairs, if someone is going to charge you $85.47 to climb on a step ladder to replace 2 burned out flurescent bulbs (maybe 4 minutes of work), you know that their pricing is unrealistic.
I called the office to complain about the pricing and was told by the person I spoke to that she would first have to speak with the technician, but would then call me back.  Although I had that conversation at 10:00 am, I never received a return call.
AVOID THIS SERVICE PROVIDER!!
They offer a discount price to make house calls so that they can prey on unsuspecting customers who may not know what is involved in the requested repairs.  If a customer rejects their outrageous quote, the company keeps your $49.00.  On the other hand, if you are sufficiently ignorant of repair costs, they can charge you the "fixed price" contained in the technician's pricing book.  It's not fraud, but it is certainly  preying on the unsuspecting, and a practice that Angie's List should not tolerate.
Even if the Company offers to refund my $49 in exchange for removing  this review, I will refuse. This scam needs to be exposed.

I had signed up for the annual service plan and the maintenance technician came to my home to perform the annual service to my AC.  The technician performed a series of maintenance / tests, and told me the Freon was low and thus was leaking.  She showed me condensation near the coil above my new furnace.  She explained the condensation would eventually rust out parts of my furnace ruining my new furnace.  She also spoke of carbon monoxide poisoning and even pointed out asbestos on my ductwork.  At the end recommending replacement of my AC, and adding a good dose of fear on her sales pitch.  It worked and I got quotes for multiple models.  I felt like she was using pressure tactics to make a sale and she admitted she at least works partly on commission.  Therefore I wanted to call around and at least get some other quotes assuming it was time to get a new unit anyways.  She said that was fine and said that she wouldn't run my AC if she was me.  Low and behold my AC did completely quit working the next day after her maintenance service.  Ok that's funny I thought.   I already gotten better quotes from other companies for the same model anyway so I had the other company come out.  The other company (Bob Mills) did an excellent job installing the new AC and it was Bob himself doing the work.  Bob tells me THE SERVICE VALVE HAD BEEN CLOSED ON THE OLD AC AND THUS KILLING THE COMPRESSOR.  He said their is no reason for this valve to have even been shut.  I called MVP and they said the technician from MVP didn't even have the tool to shut valve.  Based on my gut feelings about the technician anyways and then the AC going out immediately after she left and then the fact that Bob had nothing to gain by telling me that (he was already installing my new AC) I CALL FOUL!  Anyone else have a similar experience.  If not, I guess I'm just an anomaly, but I wouldn't sign up for their maintenance agreement/ you'll get a salesperson - not a maintenance person.   MVP has certainly lost my trust, but yes I am just one person and if no one else has had this experience then take it with a grain of salt.

"We installed a furnace for this client over the winter and did some electrical work, and he signed up for our service plan during that process. When we did Spring service on the air conditioner we found the freon level was low, and the condensate pan under the a-coil was leaking and informed the client. He asked what might happen if not fixed or repaired. That is when he was told that is was dripping on the motor and the heat exchanger of his new furnace and could cause rust. If allowed to rust through- a hole in the heat exchanger can allow carbon monoxide into his home. Water on the fan motor can cause pre-mature failure. We also pointed out some asbestos covering some old ductwork to make sure he was aware of it. Neither was done as a scare tactic- both are simple facts that we pointed to the homeowner to make sure he was aware. If we had not pointed them out, he would have a very legitimate complaint about us not being thorough in our inspections. We do an extremely thorough inspection when we do our Spring and Fall precision tune ups- far more than the clean and check you get from most companies. Most clients appreciate the thorough job and information about their system. We catch a lot of problems before they turn into major issues Our tune up specialists are specially trained on the tune up process and focuses on that work. The technician that we sent to this client does not own a service valve wrench- which would be necessary to close his service valve. In fact if we had closed the service valve while we were there the unit would not work at all. The insinuation that we would deliberately break a unit is absurd and hurtful. We neither do business that way nor employ people that would. And yes if our tech happens to sell a replacement air conditioner while on the job they do get a small commission because it saves us the time and expense of sending out a salesperson."

Went well. Very professional. On time and took job seriously. Fixed the problem quickly and have had no issues since. Did a whole house inspection and did try to sell upgrades, but was quick and wasn't pushy about it. Wish they didn't do it, but it wasn't a big deal. Very please with their service and will call again.

It went great. I actually opted to have a couple more things done. I thought they were very good and the guy that came out knew what he was doing and talked to me about the options. He didn't try to sell me the bigger, better deal or anything like that.

"I checked the notes in our dispatch system and I see that we re-scheduled the client. It was April 24th and there was some weather that day. It actually rained 1.75" that day, so we moved her. It was about two weeks- we saw her on May 7th. We had a lot of re-scheduling that week due to the weather. She never mentioned she wasn't cooling properly or we would have squeezed her in somewhere. We went out and did the tune up on the 7th and she didn't mention it then either. I'm sorry we didn't make her happy, but we didn't know."

We have two A/C units for our house. The unit we had the tune up done on, stopped working that same day. The unit is only from 2007. When I called them about it they said they would have to charge me for a return visit. They said they would call me back to schedule a time. The technician that was sent did not seem confident in his skills.

Chip was the only company that would give us a bid on this big of a job.  I think it takes a lot of time to work up a bid and all of our options.  He worked with us until we found the option that fit our budget and worked best for the house.  He had a two man crew in for 4 and half days.  I was comfortable enough with these men being in my house with me and my small children.  They were professional but had a good demeanor.  If any problems arose they were taken care of quickly.  They are a company that wants to keep the customer happy.  We appreciate the job they did and plan to use them again in the future.

Panel was old and previous owners had worked on the panel themselves. So I thought replacing the panel with new components and updating the panel to current codes was a good idea. They arrived on time, worked quickly, and cleaned up after the job. Electrical system has been working great since they were here. Very pleased with their service.

Austin came on time and did a professional installation. He was a experienced electrician, polite and understanding. Personally, I feel MVP charges higher price than others, but with such high risk job, I kind of can understand. Professional skills, but I do struggle with the price they offered for other possible installations.

He was very nice and spent a great deal of time cleaning the air conditioner.  He said the condenser was bad and I needed a new air conditioner and that it may last a short while or a long time.  While he was there the pilot light for the furnace went out.  I asked him to relight it, but he said he couldn't as it was cracked and I would need a new furnace.  He said I needed a new water heater also.
He took a great deal of time with the cleaning of the air conditioner and I was pleased with that.  I said I would use them again because the $49 was a good deal but I did not use them for the furnace as I found a better price and I am very pleased with the people who installed it.  I did not need a new water heater.
I don't remember the exact date but it was the summer of 2013.
