Leawood Tree Service

We truly thought that this great old tree had to come down, but Chuck gave us options. The River Birch in the front has three large trunks growing up and out, and the heavy lower branches wound up resting on our roof and the neighbors garage. Chuck explained how he could trim a lot of the lower branches away so the trunks are able to grow more upright. The birch in front looks much, much better, it looks like a different tree. The three trees that were trimmed on the side yard look great, too, and he only charged $15.00 to trim those! We were very impressed with his "tree knowledge", and his willingness to explore options. I really think he hates to see a tree have to be taken down! When I first called Chuck, he came out the next day for an estimate. He was very upfront about telling us it would be at least four weeks out before he could get to us, maybe more if it rained a lot. He did get to us at just about four weeks, which was fine as this wasn't an emergency situation.

I used him before and was not aware that he was on Angie's List. He does excellent work.

He was on time and kept me informed about the progress of the job. He came out first to give me an estimate on trimming some dead branches that were well above the top of our story and a half house. During his first visit, we walked the property, discussing what trees needed trimming. He told me that I could do it myself since they were low, and he told me how to trim the tree properly. I then showed him some huge bushes we had butchered, and he told me how to trim them in the future to get them back into shape. He then gave me an estimate, and I asked him to do the job. He returned a few days later on time, and trimmed the branches as we had discussed. He also removed the debris.

Chuck gave us an accurate estimate and clearly knows how to cut trees! His work was done as quietly as possible. His demeanor is wonderful.

Chuck was great to work with. He responded promptly to my call and came out for an estimate. He did the work while we were at work and I would not have even known he had been there. He also gave me a contact for digging up the stump to help prevent any further damage to my foundation.

Chuck responded to my call for an estimate, kept his appointment, and arrived on time. He did the work as we agreed. I did not shop around for prices on the tree trimming service, but I feel that I got good value for the cost from Leawood Tree Service.

My husband followed Mr. Bingham's detailed instructions. This was last fall, & today, the following spring, the tree has totally recovered. It has leafed out 100% with full size, shiny leaves & the tree looks healthier than it has in years.

He was on time, came when he said, kept his appointments. Gave an estimate that he stuck with, and he was fair. He did an excellent job and was safe about it, he did everything he said he would do.

If Chuck had actually done the work on this job I'm sure it would have gone even better. He did seem concerned about sticking me with a bill for this job that should have actually been performed by the city, so sending the work back to the city was the right thing to do! Great job!

Chuck, the owner, came out and did the trimming for us. I thought he was professional and knew what he was talking about. He was prompt and communicative, and let me know when a scheduling conflict came up. He went out of his way to give us info on other plants in the yard.

Our needs weren't time-sensitive, so Chuck worked us into a very busy fall schedule. The crabapple, which had been doing poorly for several years, was removed, revealing extensive rot in the trunk. The silver maple required a large notch in order to allow drainage from an area that was rotting. Chuck advised us on who to call for the best, most economical stump grinding, and instructed us on how to ensure the silver maple doesn't get worse. Excellent results.

Chuck did a great job at a very good price. The large oak tree that he trimmed for me, which had a lot of low hanging limbs interfering with my driveway and that of my next-door neighbor, now looks great. We have a number of large and medium size trees on our property, and will definitely use Leawood Tree Service again.

We had a tree that was tangled in our power lines at our new house. The tree also had some low hanging branches that blocked walkways in our yard. Chuck came out to give us an estimate. We paid Chuck the day he gave us the estimate, and he came back later to cut the branches. Chuck cut several high branches that interfered with the power line and a few low hanging branches. We were very happy with the job he did. The tree looks great, and they left no evidence that they had been there (i.e. no branches, twigs, wood chips, etc left on the ground). My only complaint was that he was delayed in getting our work done. He had told us it would be done within a week (and he cashed our check right after we wrote it on the day he gave the estimate), but he did not actually complete the work until 18 days after he initially visited our house, after I called to find out what was going on.

I needed a couple of very large oaks trimmed. He said because of the early freeze, the sap was dropping and he would not trim the trees because he needed to be able to see which limbs were dead and which were strong. He asked me to call him back in the spring when they have leafed out and he will be happy to give me an estimate.

Chuck Bingham, owner, is a certified arborist. He is the actual tree trimmer and has one assistant who hauls and grinds the limbs. He is very knowledgeable about trees. I was very impressed with how he took so much time to explain which branches needed to be cut and why when he came to bid. He told us we needed to cut the vines growing up one tree. He seems to love what he does, and gets excited about how much better the trees look when he is finished. They did a great job cleaning up each day (took 4 days). He made the suggestion of the injections for our gum tree, and then I asked if this could help our crab tree as well. So he checked on that for us and arranged to have the chemicals delivered to our house so he could do those on his last day here. The only complaint I would have is that he thought he would come in 3 weeks from the bid date, and it was 8 weeks. I called after 7 weeks and he came the next week. Our trees look great though. I highly recommend them.

Excellent work, and a dependable service. I felt the price was very reasonable and the work was completed to proposal specifications. The only downside is the company is booked solid and is dependent upon the weather, which delayed the work over 3 weeks from the original estimate. Chuck was very responsive. I would definitely recommend him.

Chuck keeps it simple, direct and specific. There was no game playing, no price playing and does what he says. I won't hesitate to have Chuck do more if needed.

This was definitely not the least expensive company we spoke with about our tree service needs, but we felt they were the best equipped to do the job in the best way. Mr. Bingham was very responsive to my initial call and came out for an estimate the next day. It took a few weeks to get on his schedule, but that wasn't a concern for me. On the day of the job, he was the one doing all the cutting. It took the better part of a day to complete. When they left, all debris was completely gone. The trees looked very good. We're very pleased.

Chuck Bingham, who is the owner of Leawood Tree Service is top notch. He performed all of the work himself, he showed up on time, trimmed numerous trees and cleaned up all debris. I would highly recommend him to anyone who needed any tree trimming or tree removing.

Chuck Bingham came to my house to bid on the removal of what I thought to be a dying tree form my front year. Two other bids from other companies were $800 and $3000. Chuck was honest and told me that the tree is not dead, only had some dead branches. He told me how to care for the tree to bring it back to health. Chuck was very nice and polite.

The trees would be in excellent shape for many years to come if we hired Chuck. However, we are moving and chose a more economical and moderate option.

I have used Chuck's services on 3 occasions. Each time he has consistently been prompt returning phone calls, showing up when he says, & courteous. The area was cleaned up when the job was finished. His knowledge of trees is invaluable. He gave me ideas as to what trees would be best to replace the one removed. I communicated to Chuck on a Friday evening my concerns about a tree in front coming down if we should have bad weather. He was there Monday morning removing the tree. He put my mind at ease by coming in a timely manner. I highly recommend his service.
