Frontier Furniture

Vernon runs a great little business out in Richmond, KS. By little, I mean the number of employees. Vernon has a large warehouse that displays much of the furniture available. He makes regular runs north into Amish country, where this furniture is hand-crafted with a skill not found in mass produced furniture made today. You can buy off the floor or custom order to get something larger, in a different finish, different leg styles, etc. My wife first ran into Vernon and Miriam at the Kansas City Home Show. At the time, we were looking for a larger table to accomodate our family of seven, and wanted the table to match the style of our beautiful 1924 Arts & Crafts bungalow. Frontier had many mission-style pieces of furniture on display, and my wife sat in one of the dining room chairs and was hooked. While I was home on leave from Iraq, we ventured down to Richmond and bought a table, which Vernon was nice enough to deliver for free since I don't have a truck. Delivery included setting the table up for my wife as I had returned to Iraq already. Vernon and Miriam only sell furnishings from the best craftsmen and they are very reasonable on pricing, delivery, etc. While I've only mentioned mission-style, they also sell other styles of furniture as well (Shaker, Victorian, etc.), all solid wood (meaning no laminates, particleboard, etc.) and beautifully made. We absolutely love our table and are heading back soon for a new mission-style bed!
