I do not remember exactly how much the price of the service was but they did a really good job. They were very thorough and they explained what they were doing. They explained alternatives and gave me some suggestions on the people that I might need to go see to have some other work done that they could not do. I would definitely go back to them again. My interaction with them has been great. I did not look into the price of anybody else but their price was okay with me. They also did good on their professionalism.

I got an oil change and it was done quickly with an inspection. They let me know other things wrong with my car, but didn't pressure me to fix right away or exaggerate the issues. Don't have time to sort through BS and I appreciate the quick and straightforward approach.

It all went very smoothly, as has been my experience with Harris Auto during the past two years. Between 3 and 4 years ago my check-engine light started coming on, and neithera previous mechanic nor the technicians at Harris Auto identified a clear problem to repair. However, last time I had the car serviced -- about 3.5 months ago -- the check-engine light was on again, and Roland recommended replacing the air/fuel ratio sensor when I could afford it (the part alone cost $280).
When I called to make an appointment last week, Roland put me on their schedule for today and explained clearly when to drop the car off. He also estimated how long the repair would take so I could plan my day around it.
I left my car at their shop this morning just before 10:00am and asked whether I could pick it up around 1:00pm; they said that should be fine. When I called around 12:45pm to ask whether I could pick up it, they said it'd be ready when I arrived in about 25 minutes, and indeed it was. Before I paid, Brian briefly described what they'd done -- Roland had explained it in more detail when he'd original recommend replacing the part -- and I was on my way in less than five minutes. The printed invoice clearly itemizes parts and labor -- there was no charge for checking the oil dye (I'd previously paid them to degrease the engine and add the dye) -- and also lists recommended services for the future, which Roland had discussed with me previously.
It remains to be seen whether this solves my intermittent check-engine light problem, but I'm cautiously optimistic.

At 160,000 miles, the mounts on my car had deteriorated and were causing noticeable vibration. The first set of replacement mounts were aftermarket products and failed within weeks (I have no problem using aftermarket parts...I use them when I perform my own repairs). Harris then replaced the aftermarket parts with factory OEM mounts at no extra charge. Since then I have had zero problems.
I am a repeat customer and am glad to have found Harris Auto. They are professional, trustworthy and stand behind their work.

We are doing preventive maintenance because they said that if we can do all of those, it might fix everything and we might not hear the sound again. They are honest and timely with their service. Even after I rode around with them, they took it out again since we couldn’t hear anything when I was with them. Their estimates are accurate. I am always happy with the work they have done.

I had a noise in the front end that I was not sure of the cause. They did several test drives and in depth inspections and analysis before they found 2 problems, one leading to the main noise which allowed them to fix the problem. Even with all of the time spent isolating the problem they did not charge me more than was quoted. Overall a pleasant experience.

The work took about an hour, and during the process I had a conversation with the owner and was very impressed to find out what made my car get out of alignment so bad. Gravel country roads will do it every time. I was very pleased with their service.

With 144,000 miles on them and squealing from the right-rear, I expected to have to replace the rear brakes entirely. I asked for a worst-case-scenario quote (new drums, cylinders, etc) and hoped to pay less. Their quote was reasonable. We agreed that they did not need to call me if the service needed was within that quote. They were also to inspect the front brakes for a warped rotor. They called to tell me I did not need rear brakes at all. They were not even half-worn and the drums looked and measured fine. The squeal was likely due to needing grease on the shoe-holder where it rubs on the backplate. All that was needed was to clean and adjust them! They found the front rotors to be slightly warped and turned them for me. The mechanic who worked on my car was very knowledgeable and taught this former mechanic some things about these new-fangled cars. He pointed out items that will need attention down the road, but did not try to sell me anything I did not need. They also gave me a courtesy ride to/from my home. Bottom line, they could have taken me for a new set of rear brakes, but they were completely honest...and therefore have earned a return visit from me.

They improvised an actual repair rather then replace the whole wiring harness in one case. They were prompt, competent, and professional.

I own 2 Swedish cars, and have previously used thedealer for service. I had an alternator issue come up, and upon the referral of a friend, I took my car to Harris Auto. I was very impressed with their knowledge, efficiency and timliness. They fixed my issue, got me back on the road in a short time, and cost hundreds less than the dealer. I would recommend them to anyone who needs car service.

I originally contacted Harris Auto when my car wouldn't start in Lawrence. I was very pleased with their work (and cost). They provided estimates for other repairs needed (including the work to which this report relates). Their estimate for this work was significantly lower than Johnson County auto repair so I chose Harris. Work was performed quickly. Very friendly and professional. The final work was slightly more expensive than the estimate, but still significantly lower than any other estimates received (by about $300) for this major work.
