I think we pay a contract for about $200 a year and that covers the maintenance visits and things like that, and gives us discounts if there's any repairs or we need to replace a furnace or something like that.

We purchased our furnace and AC from this company and have kept them as the company to perform maintenance in the spring and fall. They come to do regular tuneups and inspections to ensure that we are getting the best efficiency from both units. They are extremely accommodating and easy to schedule. They even send out reminders in the mail to be sure we don't miss our appointments.

We liked them at first and they deceived us on some things so we don't deal with them anymore. They were supposed to send in our warranty, and they didn't send it in and we didn't know that because the warranty was supposed to be sent in by them. Several times after that, we had to have work done from them, but we had to pay for it out of our pocket. It would have been covered under the warranty, but we didn't realize that they hadn't called in the warranty until we called in another company to get a second opinion about the problem we were having with our air conditioner. When we got the second opinion, he is the one that called and found out that our warranty had not been turned in and all the services would have been covered under the warranty had they sent it in. So after that we didn't want to deal with them anymore because it cost us a lot of money, that should of been covered under the warranty. It cost us the $4000. That's how we ended up going to Summer's.

We installed the system in June 2008. The manufacturer warranty at this time was 5 years on parts and 10 years on the compressor which is written on the proposal. The manufacturer did not start offering 10 year registered part warranties until March 2009. You may verify your warranty by contacting Lennox at 1-800-4-LENNOX. We have used them for years so that always has been A-Plus. I have a contract with them so I pay one time a year. They come out and just check the thing and service it if they need to so it did not cost us anything. I guess their price is competitive. I have used them so long I don't have (price) comparison.

I subscribed to their maintenance agreement and it was invaluable when our furnace went out in the below zero weather. They answered the phone on a Sunday night and told us how to bypass our heat pump to get heat into the house and came out first thing Monday morning to repair it. They had the right parts and the furnace was up and running again in just over an hour. This company does my ac and furnace maintenance every year as well and I would not use any other company.
