Affordable Remodelers did an excellent job on our siding. We will use this company again for any future projects. There were some issues with the final wrapped window count, but Kevin and Eddie worked with us on the price for a highly satisfactory outcome.

Gave me the run around during the 10 minutes I was on the phone trying to schedule an estimate for a shower remodel. Basically would not give me an appointment because my husband and I would not be there together for an appointment. Shame on you. It's a whole new century and women can be the bread winners and decisions makers. Took them a week to call me back and then claimed it was 6 months for bath remodels, so they would not come out. From the initial conversation to the late return call it was apparent they would not "waste" their time on me even though I was paying for it all. Not a good business practice, but gave me the opportunity to find an amazing company that has gone above and beyond even though they are only working with "The Wife".

"Our receptionist, who by the way is a single mom and only bread winner and decision maker in her house, would not disrespect anyone calling our company for an estimate. After further investigation, I found out you were looking to get quotes on multiple projects including your bathroom. We would be happy to schedule an appointment for exterior projects but we are completely booked for interior jobs including bathrooms until late fall/early winter. We never know who might want to be involved in the estimating process so we ask if any other "decision makers" would want to be present when we come to look at a customers home. I think your being quite unfair to our receptionist and our company by giving us the worst grade possible. As a matter of fact, our receptionist followed-up with you a few days later to find out if you were still interested in having us come out to give you an estimate for anything other than interior work. I'm glad you found someone to help you with your bathroom. Please consider retracting your review and grade you gave us."

Never actually had any work done, bad customer service. They promise to call back and do not honor that promise. The person at the front end has very little patience, and unfortunately they lost my business.

The company wanted me to sign a release form that said they would accept the insurance quote and allowed for additional expenses, as needed. They wanted to serve as my agent with the insurance company, but I wasn't comfortable with the discussion.

The contact release is required by your insurance company before they will talk to a contractor. We have a tremendous amount of experience in dealing with insurance adjusters to make sure our customers are treated fairly. Dealing with some adjusters and insurance claims departments is like going into court without an attorney. I hope you don't get taken advantage of by your insurance company or a roofer that will do the job on the cheap. Please call back if you reconsider. We would be happy to help any way we can. Maybe we could do a little better job explaining the process and answering any and all questions you have."

They removed the layers of asphalt shingles down to the woodsheathing. Installed new synthetic felt and Ice Water Shield on house walls and valleys of the roof. Installed new white drip edge metal as needed. Installed 2 new rubber pipe flashings. Flashed sealed around the furnace pipe and brick chimney. Flashed and sealed the house walls were behind a facia. Removed and reinstalled the Satellite Dish. Replaced 3 aluminum cans vents and added 7 new ones. Installed new IKO Cambridge AR lifetime warranty architectural shingles in Harvard slate color. They included the dumpster for the job and hauled away all the scrap. Swept and polished my yard for nails.

This project did not go well at all and there were issues upon issues with Affordable Remodelers from the beginning. The project was delayed to start by Affordable Remodelers and when finally started initial materials were delivered late. Kevin did not want to let us choose a proper window to fit with the home trying to give us cheap product he had on hand and window was not egress qualified. Kevin was supposed to secure a building permit but acted as if it was difficult and he was doing us a favor although we were told it was no problem initially and supposed to be part of the job. Walls and columns were installed crooked and only addressed when we noted it. A large part of the foundation was dug out for window well by hand instead of using equipment creating complete mess and ruining of the yard with rock and dirt everywhere. No proper drainage was ran and our home was flooded by rain and mud and was never fully cleaned up. Materials were continually over ordered and done cheaply cutting corners at every opportunity and wasting money in the process. Kevin was continually asking for extra money to do the basic things that were already agreed upon and required for the job. Things were constantly being put onto our plate instead of just taking care of them as agreed upon and paid for as part of a full service job. The newly finished room was supposed to match the home in trim quality color and appearance. After trim was installed it didn't even match itself let alone the home. Cheap particle board and osb were used while the rest of the home has hand stained trim. We paid at the higher end for a basic job and it was ran like complete garbage. Kevin attempted to cut every corner and push the gray area at every possible chance he could. Affordable Remodelers had no customer focus or direction whatsoever disregarding all integrity and trust and complete greed took over with an attempt to exploit us on a 40 thousand dollar remodel. Cory initially was supposed to be project manager on the job but had some story why he couldn't so Kevin hijacked the project. We went over many details with them numerous times but then another thing would be done. There were many issues with this company with a complete lack of faith and trust. This job was a complete disappointment and we would NOT recommend them to any friends family coworkers or anyone for that matter.

The lake house was built by my parents,
the original part in 1953 and the addition in the mid-70?s. The love and workmanship that my dad put into
this home was an essential element for the remodel job this summer. I knew, as soon as I talked with Cory, that
he understood the basic premise that my dad?s work was to be accentuated and
complemented, not over run.
Cory allowed me to be at ease with the
entire project. He assured me that the best tile and wood man would be doing
the job. Tom was that man. I can?t even tell you how great Tom was doing
the renovation. His knowledge and
craftsmanship is all I could have hoped for.
On the first day, I overheard Cory telling Tom about my dad building the
house and keeping that fact as the main focus of the job. And they certainly did. Their trustworthiness was beyond
reproach. Their expertise was obvious. Their professionalism and great dispositions everyday was appreciated and enjoyed.
As part of the contract, Cory offered to meet with me at any store to help pick out materials, but I took that on
myself. They provided the calculations on material needed, and offered suggestions as needed. I had my vision for the renovation?s final look, and what I thought would honor my parent?s home in the greatest way.
From tile to paint to baseboards, ever bit of the renovation was handled with the greatest care. Tom made sure that baseboards that were from the 1950?s were matched. Cory and Tom created a hanging light fixture for the kitchen that was made from the original wood siding.
Tom?s tile work was perfection. Cory?s work with the drywall and paint were excellent. He painted the vanity and
cabinets that my father had made, creating a modern and chic bathroom. Between my vision for the redesign and their
exceptional work, we now have an updated lake house that will be enjoyed for many years to come. I could not be happier, and all my friends who watched the renovation via Face Book this summer were amazed and pleased with the end
result. I know that my folks would have appreciated the excellent job Affordable Remodelers did on their beloved home. We are all smiling.

The basement door was at the bottom of a concret stairs leading down into the basement. Water and debris collected there and the makesift wooden door was in terrible shape. Local pests had chewed through the door to store pine cones inside for the winter. The door was cut down to fit the opening and an odd size. The new door is steel with a non-rotting frame covered with aluminum. It will probably last longer than I will. The house is 80 years old. I had all of the windows replaced with easy to use, energy efficient double pane windows. Again, the new windows will probably out last me. I am very pleased with the helpful response I got from Kevin, the salesman. The carpenter, Buck, is very good and did an outstanding job installing the windows and the very difficult basement doors. I am very pleased with the work and the overall cost. I got a discount for Angie's List and also a senior citizens discount. They will be my first choice for any additional work in the future.

We had their reps out to give an estimate. There was never any hard sell or pressure, just what they do with some examples of their work. They went over in great detail the product (windows) and what features were available. The windows were ordered, the prices were detailed and explained carefully. This was the only area that was a little disappointing, It took approx. 5 weeks from the estimate to delivery - it was special ordered and custom made at the factory to our exact measurements so was understandable. The wait was well worth it, the windows are wonderful! This company is professional, efficient, courteous and has great windows. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them for work, looking forward to working with them again.

Our electric and gas bill was very high. Just by the new windows being put in we went from being negative on budget plan from this winter to a positive balance and having our budget payment reduced! We our having the rest of the upper windows installed now. And because we like the professionalism of this company we are in the process of having our porch redone and eventually a new roof and siding. I would recommend this company and trust them to do a good job.
