I called Flawless Flooring to review my job - they were punctual to arrive and review the job. Mark Bushor took a few measurements and spent about 10 minutes writing notes to himself and provided a verbal quote. I was never provided with anything in writing (my mistake). The quote was good and so I hired them. They started in a couple of days using the materials I purchased. I was away on business and the job was nearly finished when I returned home. To make a very long story short - the job looked TERRIBLE. None of the tiles were level, the grout lines were not straight, there was grout missing, etc. They were to install a built in soap tray area in the wall that was to match the size of the tile (12x12). This area looked like it was chopped in with an ax. They did not use a tile saw for any of their cuts. They guessed at every cut and cut all tiles by hand with a grinder (on my front step). Every cut is at an angle and looks terrrible. The area around the shower valve was cut so poorly the trim ring for the shower valve would not cover their cutting. The floor was equally as much of a disaster. They started in the back of the bathroom and worked their way toward the enternace door - with NO preplanning. When they got to the door they were left with a 1.5 inch gap that they simply tried to fill in with grout.
I called Flawless Flooring back out to see the terrible job and they informed me they could remove a couple of tiles and fix them and it would look ok. They removed literally 6 tiles and then I noticed they did not install any - NONE - material behind a 5 inch strip behind the tile - I could see the studs behind the tile. They did not use any concrete board behind the tile - but rather just drywall - keep in mind this is for a SHOWER.
On the floor they put the tile directly down on top of the wood (luan) flooring - no cement board.
I called another contractor (highly rated on Angies List) to review the job. They informed me this job was a TOTAL LOSS and I needed to tear it all back out and start over. I have called Flawless Flooring to inform them of this and told them DO NOT COME BACK - YOU ARE FIRED. Be advised - DO NOT HIRE THESE GUYS!!!
